    I DO NOT MISS MY SN95........ problem after problem after problem. I had a 1997. My pulleys went bad, vacuum line issues, TOB went out 3 times which finally helped burn out my clutch plate, the retainer tube that the TOB slides on snapped in half, clutch cable snapped, intake manifold started leaking coolant, tie rods went out, ball joints went to shit, exhaust rattled on the axle, and then the water pump shit the bucket. If I were to get another mustang it would be a 2001 Mach 1 and only a weekend driver. My 97 was "reliable" but quirky. I finally traded her with a fella who had a 2012 Fusion 4 banger. The Fusion has 160,000 miles but she is show room fresh including suspension and drive train. She is ugly, slow, but HELLA COMFY! My new play car is a Firebird Formula LS1. Cost me way more than the Mustang did, but, mechanically it is so much more sound and much faster as well!

    just picked up a 95 Cobra for 3700. You'll never find one that cheap again. They are about sky rocket in price. These things are cheap to build because ford did such a great job of allowing the aftermarket dictate small HP purchase upgrades. The aftermarket is still very large for the 5.0s.

    GT40 heads,
    SR Performance cold air intake
    Maximum Motorsports full-length subframe connectors
    BBK catless h-pipe,

    Nice info bro, my 16 yr old stepson just inherited a 95 GT. His dad had done quite a few mods to it, just saw it for the 1st time this past weekend. Car is quite clean, super clean engine. Right off the bat i noticed headers, nice wide piped dual exhaust, high end cold air intake system, must have some type of high performance clutch system since he added a specialty RPM guage with the flashing light that tells you when to shift, MSD current booster & a couple other things. Not sure what has been done internally to the engine but i believe it was rebuilt, car only has 79k miles.
    Looks like it has a coolant leak on one of the hoses, once I get it fixed I'll be able to fire it up, cant wait to hear her & test her out.

    94-95 cobras were underrated..they dynod around 225 whp stock (I’ve owned 4 in the past) putting their crank numbers at around 265-270ish FWIW

    • @TheSamplebridge

      Completely wrong. Mine dynoed at 190whp stock with aftermarket mufflers. Maybe 230 crank. Gets ran around new edges when it was stock. They are good for cheap power because a set of aluminum heads, cam, headers, intake, gears, and a shortthrow will run you about 1500 in parts and make anywhere from 300 to 375whp

    My mom who is now deceased gave he 95gt convertible to her husband of 11 years because "he wanted it" even tho I had tried to purchase it for 2 years earlier, I was floored when she dropped that on me but I bit my tongue because she was bed ridden. Im a Chevy guy so I've never cared about mustangs but it had sentimental value I talked her into buying it after my dad passed because she was so destroyed by his passing, I nagged her into trying it went for test ride where she said it was "zippy" lol, anywho he doesn't use it just sat since 2015 when she died. But I love that particular car for those reasons. But driving it alot over the years I'd say the biggest Achilles heal was the tall gears...2:73? That strangled it, I managed 125 out of it but it could have gone faster I think but it could not push it any faster even tho it had more rpm. I always figured if I got it I'd put 3:73 or so, cam and lifters, remove cats n do cat back and it would probably go decent 5.0s have ton of potential, right mods and that 3" stroke and there a spinner. Oh year her GT was garaged every winter and had less than 100k and was immaculate... other than a starter wire short Only prob I can think of was for couple years it had an RPM associated vibration and one day looking for that short I noticed the harmonic balancer was wobbling bad, I replaced it with a $75 jegs unit and 95% of vibration was gone but I think the main bearing in front of engine may have got hammered it vibrated pretty badl in the 4 to 5000 rpm, but I wasn't worried 5.0's are cheap to build, good excuse to build it some.

Replaced every bearing and bushing, shocks and struts, rear control arms, new, red powder-coated brake calipers with drilled and slotted discs, etc. and lowered the suspension 1.5 inches, 1.5" spacers at the rear wheels, had the trans rebuilt and the engine is strong. Had to replace the fuel pump because the nylon holder for the wiring harness failed and the wiring wore and was grounding out at the edge of the fuel tank. Had Magna Flow mufflers installed. Aftermarket is plentiful and very accessible.

Bbk cold air intake, bbk 70 mm throttle body, bbk thrttle body spacer, ford racing uper and lower intake manifolds, 30 over blue printed block, upgraded heads from a 04 gt with voodoo cams, rockers and a good port and polish. Ford racing coils and good plugs, bbk shorty headers, bbk off road x pipe, two super 40s, 4.11 gear, center force clutch, b and m ripper shifter, steda shocks and struts, jegs drilled sloted rotors, svt 6 piston calibers, 19 in cobra R wheels with good tires, sub frame conectors, back seat delete with a nhra 4 point cage, bbk tubuler frunt subframe, i also painted the car. When it was all done i spent like 20 grand on the car, owned it like 15 years all together. Sold it for 12 grand cash. It dyno at the wheels around 315 hp 330 ftlb, and thow i never took it to a 1/4 track i cleaned up at the 1/8th mile. Lot of wrxs and ls1s found out the hard way a 2 valve can be fast if u dump stupid money in to it. Now I got a 08 gt with just 3.55 gear a whiple and a tune that would eat my 98 up. Plus i can drive it to work on nice days go on a date or not melt the carpet calls the headers get so hot. I went crazy trying to make a fast N/A sn95 and ruined the car for every day driving. it was so hard core it sucked to live with in town or explaining to dates how to get in over the role bar or why i had a big fule pump switch in the dash.

    4.10’s and a few mods make the 94-95’s really fun to drive on the back roads. Sadly I sold mine recently due to infamous strut tower rot. Living in New England you have to expect that. Looking for a 94 black on black Cobra from down south. Guess it’s time to break the piggy bank open, lol.

    If you like the sn95 but want something a bit different, get a thunderbird or mercury cougar. It is the same engine, just with 10 less hp. They came with 4 disc brakes standard and independent front/rear suspension. Some even came with a limited slip dif (rare). They are a little cheaper usually, probably not driven as hard as a mustang would be, and a ton more room and comfort.

    You can't put the 94/95 in the same class as the 96 & on as they had different engines. Yes they didn't make a tone of HP but they made a lot of torque in the 95/95 The 4.6 2v that replace that was garbage & would cost twice as much to mod & never really see much gains. Go for the 5.0 and If you can find a cobra they are way more rare with less being produced so don't listen to this guy. the cobra engine was not that bad & it had better suspension with bigger brakes to start with. If you can find one in good shape they will be worth more money as they get older, great car to buy for a collector .

    I had a 94 GT 5 speed with the 5.0. Yeah it was quick, but not fast, and the previous owner put straight pipes on it and that seemed to kill my top end power. I loved the interior styling though, was way more sporty than the 87-93 Fox models. Exterior wise, you can't compare them. I blew out the weak ass T-5 that these came with, only to have a nightmare replacing it cause the outfit I bought it from sold me a T-5 for an 87-93 which had a different speedo gear and totally threw me off 15 mph or so, not to mention the company that rebuilt them did a horrible job as I had to return the trans 3 times due to seals leaking, and synchronizers going out. I did look at a 4th gen camaro, but as I wanted one with a manual, having short legs, it was super uncomfortable.

    Ok, so I thought I was about to go sickomode on this boi for the 5.0 302 the 94-95 get/ cobras had, but he fixed it. However, still a few critiques. The mustangs from 98 down were hp rated using wheel horsepower. The models up from that were rated at engine horsepower which drops as the power is transferred to the axle and wheel. This was a marketing ploy to fake out the insurance companies so you didn’t have to pay the price of a 400 hp vehicle. My mustang’s engine horsepower is 415 which you must take in mind the Roush kit on it. However the wheel horsepower is only 274 hp. See the point? But I will give you the problems with the odometer because mine went out too.

    • @mindandbodymuscle5345
      @mindandbodymuscle5345 5 лет назад

      Chris Rose... Windsor motor? that motor was like a 5.4 or 5.6. no way it had a windsor motor. 94-95's had the old fox body motors with hyperallegetic pistons, and different type of throttle body than fox's.

    • @chrisrose9960
      @chrisrose9960 5 лет назад +3

      @@mindandbodymuscle5345 No, the 4.6l and 5.4 are modulars. I've never heard of a 5.6l. The 5.0l (302) and the 5.8l (351w) are windsor motors and the 1982-1995 mustangs came with windsor 5.0ls. The 1994-1995 mustangs just had a modernized varient of the windsor with a different intake and other misc changes. I have an 88' mustang GT and a 95' Mustang GT and I've been around them long enough to know whether the motor in them are windsors or not, so I'm pretty certain that the 5.0ls they have are windsors.

    • @joshcossin8099
      @joshcossin8099 5 лет назад

      Hate to break it to you, but the 302 5.0L was manufactured in Dearborn MI until 2000. If you go to the Henry Ford museum you’ll learn that. The 351 Windsor from Windsor Canada was made up until 1995 only for commercial vehicles or race applications.
