Angelina inspires me to do what I can to help make the world a better place, so I am asking all angels and others to spread the story of Narges Mohammadi. Angelina was recorded here in December 2023 at the Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo Norway, performing this beautiful version of Unchained Melody. She paid tribute to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. Acts of kindness are inspirational, as Angelina always reminds us. We angels, and all others must honor Angelina, and those who represent our values, by doing all we can to help, and be kind to others. Even the smallest gestures can make a difference.

Absolutely phenomenal performance from our musical genius, For Angelina to be performing at the Nobel Peace Prize event is so impressive special and inspiring for her, especially as the performance is in her home country Norway, and featuring the Norwegian Kork orchestra, This is not the first time Angelina has performed at the Nobel Peace Prize event, the last time was in 2014 where Angelina was around 8 years old, Angelina sang ( What A Wonderful World), and Angelina has collaborated with the Kork orchestra on several occasions, once at 10 years old with her own arrangement of ( Back To Black) and another occasion with her arrangement of (Summertime)! Angelina has a live concert in Las Vegas on the 29th February, I am travelling from the United Kingdom to attend the concert and cannot wait to see Angelina live again, great reaction thanks!

Certainly Angelina was thrilled to be performing back in her home country of Norway, where she is a national treasure, but this performance goes way beyond that honor. She first performed at the Save the Children event at the 2014 Peace Prize event, when she was 8 years old.
Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges was, at the time of this tribute, on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian.
We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change.
In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time".
"Unchained Melody" comes from the film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.

This concert was a tribute to an Iranian woman who had been advocating for women's rights in Iran. The woman was sentenced to more than 150 lashes and more than 20 years in an Iranian prison.
The woman's children are sitting directly in front of Angelina,

In 2014, a little Norwegian girl was named and codified, a national treasure by both the King of Norway and the prime Minister. That same year, she sang for the Nobel peace prize winners all at the age of 8.
In 2023, that same girl, now almost 18 once again graced the Nobel peace prize stage and sang for the recipient once again.
That young girl is none other than Angelina Jordan.
Angelina Jordan made history with this performance.
Angelina is the only solo singer under the age of 18 to have performed twice at the Nobel peace prize concert.
When I learned the story of Narges Mohammadi, this years recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, and the history of the song "Unchained Melody", I fully understood why Angelina Jordan chose this song.
P.S.: Angelina arranged the music and vocals for this performance. She thanked the director of KORK publicly for allowing her to do this.

Hey Buckeye Bro. Angelina has sung this many times since the age of 8, l was privileged to hear her last year at Portsmouth. This is the most reverent version she has done for the reasons Angels have mentioned. Realize that when she is singing " I'll be coming home, wait for me", she is facing Narges' children. Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize 2023 Some ask why Angelina Jordan would pick Unchained Melody for this event, Narges Mohammadi, the Iranian human rights activist who received the prestigious award remains in Iran. One of the most popular and enduring love songs of all time, Unchained Melody, has a surprising origin. It was composed for a 1955 film called Unchained, which tells the story of a man who is incarcerated for a crime he did not commit. He yearns to be free and reunite with his wife and children, who are waiting for him outside. I don't know how it's done, but you can move your image to wherever you want on the screen in real time. I've seen many reactors do it when they are blocking Angelina in a reaction, they just move their image box out of the way. Maybe you could Google how to do it. This performance is sublime & when I hear those high notes at the end it's like Nirvana (not the band).

Hi Buckeye! I wouldn't worry too awful much about the video, you just never know how any particular video is going to be framed, or constituted. This one just happened to place Angelina in the left side of some of it. It is what it is. I have to agree with you, Bobby Hatfield's performance has always been the "gold standard" of this song, but he never brought a tear to my eye. Angelina has done it many times when I listen to this version. The perfect storm of this performance is the following.... The song was written for a 1955 motion picture, "Unchained" (and nominated for the Oscars), The man who was providing the score was asked to write a song for the movie, and remembered an instrumental he had written back in the 1930's. He enlisted a lyricist and the song became a big success, with many people covering it. The movie itself was about a man wrongfully imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. He languished in prison, missing his wife and family, and it ate him up inside. So.... this year's honoree for the Nobel Peace Prize is a woman named Narges Mohammadi, who is in prison in Iran for speaking out on behalf of women's rights. Angelina herself is part Iranian.. her maternal grandmother, whom you see in some of her videos, is from Iran. Herself a prodigy as a poet, writer, and painter, and number one fan of her granddaughter, Angelina. Her name is Mery Zamani. I'm quite sure that Mery had conversations with Angelina about the plight of Narges Mohammadi, so no doubt she was well aware of the situation. Hence, singing back home in her hometown of Oslo, at the ceremonies, singing this remarkable song! Love and Peace to you and yours from Wisconsin!

There is no singer on the planet I'd rather have doing that, right then, right there. Narges' twins sat right there before her, taking in the message Angelina delivered. I don't know how she managed to keep her composure and not break down. She is such a bright light for the world. It's so thoughtful and humble of you to apologize for your image covering part of the performance. It's not a big deal. We can always go to the original if we want to just see the performance. I can’t tell you how to do it, but I’ve seen other reactors move their frame around when it gets in the way during the viewing. This song was also arranged by Angelina, and she was given special permission by the KORK Norwegian Orchestra to do so for them. She arranges most all of her songs now. Musical talent just oozes out of her pores! The song you probably saw on AGT was Bohemian Rhapsody, a Queen song from whom she received permission to copyright her version, they were so impressed with it.

I think AJ listened to Bobby Hatfield's version from the Andy Williams Show 1965 as she uses his ending. As always she does her own version however. Her live concet is in Vegas this month!
Buckeye, about AFT. She was better off NOT to win. She got the PR she wanted and Simon got his numbers of viewers rising again. She also reserved her rights on every scrap of recording on AGT, that was performed by her. YES Uncle Michael and AJ are shrewd business people. By all I have seen in the last months of her, she is not a poor woman. For the Trolls out there: If you have money, you can help much better, than being without, so shut up YOU!!!! As for her not winning AGT. You DO NOT win these type shows without signing a binding contract first, which her family respectfully declined. Good for her, because quite frankly, she is too good for the AGT talent show.
