Word of wisdom, social media need more ppl like you 🤩

What has helped me the most is making a wish list, and reviewing it every few months. If an item is on the list 6 months to 1 year later, only then will I buy it. A lot of times an item I was so excited over, I lost interest in , and end up crossing it off of my list. This has kept me from making expensive impulse mistakes.

I feel like social media makes us want more. When I scroll on my feed, everyone's unboxing Chanel almost every week. Birthdays or other occasions are consist of having a huge shopping haul. It always seems like everyone is living the life of a millionnaire on an employee salary (non-exec level). And for people who aren't living that kind of life, it feels like you are the outcast because you don't do it. It seems weird. And yet, you read the news with lots of people in debt, jobless or does not have enough savings. 😕

My shopping increased during COVID. I use to travel and sheer boredom set in and I filled it in with shopping. I also spent more time watching influencers and found myself caught up in the luxury lifestyle. I like these videos, it brings me back to earth.

I’m definitely in a stage of my life where I just want, want, want! To a certain extent, I feel like it’s okay because I am so young and I want to be carefree and selfish for as long as I can💕 But I also want to know how to be more disciplined with certain desires. Sometimes I’ll hold off on buying something to see if I still desire it weeks/months later.

It's nice to have the option to acquire, but it's also empowering to be mindful-- I think balance is the key xx

I feel like it's nowadays mostly a problem of influencers and social media. This flex culture is incredibly damaging. Overconsumption and shopping addiction shouldn't be portrayed as normal, yet it often is. Influencers buying 8 luxury bags at once are considered goals. They can literally deduct those costs as business expenses, while their viewers try to emulate them and go into debt trying to keep up...

    Tips from the video:
3 Steps To Wanting Less and Finding Joy From Doing It
    1. Identify the reasons you keep wanting more and more
-Distraction? Coping mechanism? Need for validation?
-What is affecting your relationship with material things?
-Seek professional counseling/help if necessary to find out why.
    2. Identify your “Why” or motivation
-Why do you want to own less or spend less?
To save money? Flexibility to travel, career break? Have more space in your home? More freedom of your time?
    -What is your mission?
    3. Declutter
-Curate your items. Only keep items you use
    -Protect your clear space
Don’t give in to instant gratification. Reprogram and train your mind.
    Be intentional with your spending.
It’s empowering to be mindful, balance is key.

I love the feeling when I decide not to buy anything and the joy I get out of it 🤗 Ten years ago that wasn't the case at all. I'm happy that I've managed to train my mind to want less and be totally content with that.

I’m always shocked by the fact that I declutter my wardrobe and bring a big garbage bag filled with clothes to charities and still… my wardrobe isn’t “empty”, it still feels full 😅 Really puts into perspective how much stuff I own

I love your idea of spending time in Malaysia with your family; your little boy would truly benefit from this experience. Make it happen Eileen; I know you'll find a way! This year your channel (and career) have changed direction.......and grown.....all positive steps and the right decision (in my opinion). Let's hope 2022 is as kind and prosperous to you. Wishing you and your family all the very best ❤️ Keep up the good work Eileen!

I love your content. I’m at a point in my life where the idea of luxury minimalism is very appealing to me. And I have to say, there isn’t a lot of information around this topic online. I guess that’s because many people think that “luxury” and “minimalism” cannot go hand in hand, but you’re a perfect example of how to make this work.
Thank you for your wonderful, inspiring and very informative videos.
    Have a great day!

I really like the concept of “wanting to” have less. But there’s an internal battle going on. I love, love, love all my things. I also love getting new things, yet my space is overflowing, it cannot contain all that I own. My dilemma is real. I have decluttered so much already, the charity shops are doing very well out of me lol!!

Every time you want to buy a luxury item, double the amount it costs by making a donation to a local charity for the same amount. That makes the item twice as valuable to you and you will automatically use better judgment before you buy anything.

I love your channel bc it makes me more mindful of spending. My low buy challenge start in 2018-2019. Now, I’m more mindful of buying items, but when it comes to handbags it doesn’t work. I have been waiting to see this video, bc I bought a couple of handbags this month. I will most likely return many as I have figured out which ones I like.

There Are so many things I've seen recently that I must have. I placed some of them in my cart.... shopped around. At the end, I returned all the things. I don't know why I enjoy buying things, so all I can do is take one day at a time. Thanks Eileen for your helpful videos.🌺

Love the Wear what makes you feel great. At the end of the day, it is still you who's wearing the clothes so whatever it is your wearing, as long as your comfortable in it and it makes you feel great, it will give you that vibrant look that not only you the wearer will feel good about it but also those who can see you will be able to feel that same good vibes, as it radiates your positivity to those around you. What a great content and video as always. 🙂

I know a lady whom has 300k worth of bags. When she got pregnant as a single mother, she gave up all these nonsense. Childcare is expensive. Yes intentional spending is the way to go but trust me, all these interest in luxury items will plateau once u reach a certain stage.
