Always loved your work. Shame this hasn’t appeared on iTunes or Spotify but this is honestly one of my favourite soundtracks of all time. Absolutely great!!
Ryan Scott Thank you! Watch this space, wheels are in motion to release digitally and on vinyl. It’s taking a while for the deals to be agreed, can but cross ones fingers!
Helloo! I stumbled upon this yesterday, most fun to read your thoughts. I’m Barn from Bob & Barn. First off I’m currently in talks with Sony to release the score digitally and on vinyl and as sheet music, nothing confirmed yet but fingers crossed, I plan to add the hall of heroes, extend the shop gargoyle and our first new demo which never made it to the final game. And here’s a bit of background, when Sony first asked us to be involved the plan was to reprogram the music from Med 1 in samples. I instead proposed live recordings of Med 1 cues, a few new tracks and to reuse the live recordings from Med Res - which was also technically a remake of Med 1. Everything was then given a 2019 sheen, updated mixes and addition of loads of new or alternate material which could be brought in during game play and make the score interactive, something we’d always wanted to do but weren’t able. Thank you ok for keeping the spirit of MediEvil alive, something 1998 me would never have believed!
The Medievil Soundtracks have been favourites of mine for years, They offer something i havent quite found anywhere else. Would love to see you guys crack out something similar to Medievil as a D&D atmospheric music compilation. Thanks for the great melodies!
This is amazing news!! I'd love to do score studies for this fantastic soundtrack! I hope that's able to work out! Great job with this music guys, truly. A big inspiration to me!
@Andrew Barnabas Woah... I don’t think anyone expected to see you around in the comments section! Yours & Bob’s rendition of the soundtrack from Resurrection are a favorite of my husband and I, so you could imagine the excitement we had when we found out you two were coming back to do the soundtrack for the new remake on top of the game itself. Its amazing and your improvements showed. I hope you and Bob keep safe in these crazy times ✌🏼
We had to wait 21 years since Medievil 1 for Sir Dan to came back to life in this remake, does that mean that we'll have to wait until 2040 for Medievil 2 Remake and see Sir Daniel again? I am now studying videogame development and I swear that If I have the opportunity I'll bring back Sir Dan back to life again!
The OST is actually dynamic during the game, I honnestly think a simple video doesn't make justice to how this OST is incredibly well used during the game.
The Soundtrack is both a remix of the original and from the Remake that came out for the psp in 2006. Not that I am complaining, the Soundtrack in Resurrection was incredible
I just want a proper CD release of this masterpiece of a soundtrack since I was a child. The remake one is even better (many people do not like it, but I do. Some of the original tracks used some copyright-free music, so Bob and Barn decided to make totally new tracks, and that's totally logical).
@@andrewbas I am usually in doubt when it comes to remakes. Many composers replace instruments or samples in a rough manner. They don't pay attention to the details that made it good in the first place. You are an exception in that case. You clearly went with the original feel of those themes, but still managed to surprise and 'add' instead of changing. A good example of how it should be done.
OMG, I love how they sound JUST like the original soundtracks but remastered in the official soundtrack, but in the game they have a more extended cinematic effect, I kinda wish there was an option to play these shorter true to the original soundtracks in the background though.
@@GroovyLeon The beginning is different but it directly fades into Resurrection's version when you get both sheet music (only one needed in the remake)
The score is the main reason the original is my favorite game of all time, I frequently played the game with the FX muted and the music all the way up. I couldn't wait to hear the score redone with modern technology. Was also worried they'd bring someone else to do the score on the remake. Thank God they didn't.
I’d never played the original and I was honestly blown away by everything in the game. It’s nothing groundbreaking but the presentation and atmosphere made it incredibly memorable for as short of a ride as it is. The music especially when I went into the anthill for the first time with my health being pretty low was beyond intimidating
The original was an amazing game in every aspect, that's why so many people have such fond memories of the series. Second one wasn't as good, but still decent. Always struck me as odd that Sony has never done anything with the franchise beyond remaking it for PSP once and now this.
1:13:05 Immagine yourself walking in a dark creepy forest at night. You are mesmerized by the flying glowing fairies, while you hear noises by creepy small creatures hiding in bushes. The trees have their own glowing yellow eyes and mouths, the mushrooms are huge, the sky is purple, and there are misthic animals from another world walking around. The magic is in the air and you can feel it. At 1:13:52 you meet a wise man, and he tells you about a brave man named Sir Daniel and about his heroical actions. This is what comes outside of a child's mind at least from the child that's still inside me.
Medievil 1&2 have the most criminally underrated soundtracks. Hearing these beautiful reorchestrations is an absolute treat, makes me want 2 remastered too just to hear the soundtrack.
I grew up with the PS2 so I missed the PS1 generation of consoles growing up until later, I never tried the original but I loved this one, I’d love a remake of the sequel too, especially since I hear Dan gets a Mummy girlfriend in that one, which honestly sounds adorable.....
Absolutely. It's never been re-released in _any_ form. Medievil, 1 was released on the Ps3 store, has just gotten this remake, and the original is included in the remake as an unlockable. Medievil 2? Nothing.
MediEvil 1 and 2's soundtracks just give me such nostalgic chills. Kew Gardens from MediEvil 2's just a beautiful piece, and I LOVE Whitechapel's soundtrack tooo.
I kinda liked the original better, but maybe just for its pipe organ sound, which felt more... rich? Powerful? The new one sounds a bit flimsy and weak, but overall composition is more complex and interesting. If the new one had pipe organ sound like in the original, I'd love that piece 100% instead of just 75% xD
MediEvil was one my favourite games on PS1. I really loved it. The look, the feel and especialy the music. I like the original ost and the rearrangement. Dan´s Crypt and the Graveyard, Scarecrow Fields, Return to the Graveyard are the best. But the other themes are good as well and fit to the levels. Enchanted Earth justs fits so well to this forest. I always feel the foreshadowing of releasing the demons. The pumpkin gorge is another example. The jumping pumpkins to this music are just great. I am happy that the remake of this game is so good. I hope there will be a sequel. We need more Dan!

37:21 I've always loved this piece. When I listen to it, I imagine the beginning where Fortesque is leaving his crypt and sees a dark grassy hill which he climbs, passing through a path with gravestones on the sides. Once he reaches the top, at 37:39 he sees a huge Graveyard stretching as far as he could see in the dead of night, an eerie moon hangs above the clouds, gravestones and crypts and dead gnarled trees all blanketed by an unnatural haze. Knowing this is just the start of his troubles, it would be the only path he could take at redeeming himself and live up to the legend built around him.
1:09:24 I loved the original theme that played in the battle against Zarok, it was spooky and creepy such as the boss; however i have to say that i prefer this version, it actually puts up some epicness in the fight, like Dan is really the hero and this is the only chance to end Zarok's reign of terror once and for all.
This is easily my favourite video game soundtrack to date, I don't get tired of having it play while I'm trying to edit a video or do some other project. I wish there were more catchy soundtracks like this for more games- this music alone made the remake enjoyable to play through. I know a lot of people are nostalgic about the ps1 version and to be fair it did have a slightly different tone sometimes, but I think this is just better to listen to, especially with all the new dynamic variations

11:00 masterpiece Medievil

6:57 Scarecrow Fields
Prepare to be scared... If you are a crow
You can download the soundtrack from the Digital Deluxe version of the game now! 💕💀💕
Thanks : )
I've always loved this soundtrack, starting on the first release. The PSP remake was a pretty deserved improvement... but this is amazing. I'm trying to figure out why the PSP soundtrack got removed from all streaming platforms, why this new version isn't, and why it's impossible to find it anywhere!
17:35 it's my favorite
1:13:05 best Medievil soundtrack no doubt
All in favor of a movie adaptation made by Aardman Animations (of Wallace and Gromit fame) say **mrph!**
Laika Productions might be a good idea too.
Funny how this was the first game i had ever played
If the game is going to get animation (Stop-Motion) movie adaptation, I want Tim Burton to be the director.
Epic... Just epic! wonderful as the original.
God damn zarok theme is so hype
The Ghost Ship is definitely my favorite.
This is hands down the greatest soundtrack ever!
@Cody MacArthur No, I'll put it on my list :)
