To say that Real Madrid was Franco's team and Barca was a team of left wing politics is over simplistic. First of all, Franco was an Atletico Avion (now known as Atletico Madrid) supporter. He just used RM as a propaganda machine after they won their 2nd European Cup. And if you really look at it, though Barca were separatists from Spain's perspective, they also represented right wing Catalan politics. It really was just a clash between Spanish Nationalism and Catalan Nationalism.
I don't even think so. There have always been thousands of people all over Spain who are Barça fans. This represent nationalisms only for nationalists. Which represented, and that was one of the main reasons of the rivalry, was the capital's team against an oppresed region's one, during Franchoism.
Mark Lapeña they don’t mention that Franco saved Barca from bankruptcy and they condecorarle him with two medals and made him a honorary member of the club . Pure propaganda fed to unsuspecting foreigners who don’t have a clue about the reality. Barca as any club / business in the world align themselves to the people in power , they are no different but seems like many people believed the whole shebang snd truly believed this team were freedom fighters .😂

The real Clásico it's an everyday thing here in Spain, don't take ''El Clásico'' as just a match, because yeah, nowadays, the passion in the stadium has just dissapeared, but the real clásico is played everyday on the news, on the streets, when you go to work or class and chat with your mates, no matter which team they support, everybody here in Spain tends to like more one of the clubs than the other. It is still a political thing, it is still a social matter here in Spain, obviously not on the pitch, but on the streets, where the real supporters for both teams are, not people from china or united states or whatever, which I don't have any problem with, but let's be serious, those aren't real supporters. If you want to feel the passion in the Clásico, you have to go to the little bars and pubs all around Spain, packed up with supporters of both teams, no matter where in Spain you are. There is a saying here in Spain that talks about ''the two Spains", the two Spains that lead to war back in the XX century, and that no matter what news, politicians, etc. try to hide it, it is still there, will always be, that's just the way we are, and that saying, and that feeling, nowadays, is represented by Real Madrid vs Barcelona. So when foreign people say there is no passion in ''El Clásico'', no, there is no passion at the camp nou, or the bernabeu, there is no passion in the stadiums, but on the streets, on the bars, wherever you go in the authentic Spain, there is a whole lot of passion

First off, thank you Copa90 for producing this beautiful look at el Clasico. This was great to watch. Very well put together. My only criticism is that it's only 15 minutes long and we only got to see a Clasico in Barcelona. I'd also be interested in seeing the Bernabeu and Madrid on the day of a Clasico.
You guys just missed one of the best games I've seen in my life. Historical, today's Lisbon Derby it will be spoken about for a long time!. Benfica 4-3 Sporting, after 120 mins of intense and top quality football. Where both teams played with pure passion and love for the shirt. And an absolutely amazing atmosphere in the stadium, it was beautiful to watch. As a Benfica fan, I was about o have a heart attack at any moment. Just for you to get an idea, SPORTTV's commentators usually lack emotion, today, they were having orgasms. I wish you guys had gone there. I've been following football truly since the 2009/2010 season, and I'd say this was the best game I've ever seen. A round of 32 game of the Portugal Cup between two teams who have been rivals for more than 100 years, that felt more like a final of a big competition. Today was just true example of what football is all about. rutube.ru/video/085106e472101882b335bd0bf5f9fe73/?ref=logo

Everything said in this video by Real Madrid fan's about Real Madrid still stands to this day. Exactly, he's clearly a Barcelona fan. And whoever is saying that the game was at Barcelona's stadium; go watch the episodes before this one, those episodes are way more entertaining. This is a very very bad episode, it really sucks.
You have got to go, Newcastle United vs Sunderland.... Biggest derby in the premier league.. Biggest derby in England their fore one of the biggest rivalries in the world! I would put it on par with Celtic vs Rangers.... The passion means everything for us here in the North East of England.
Second City derby (Birmingham Aston Villa) is more fierce than that and that's coming from a neutral. And to say Newcastle Sunderland is on par with the old firm...lol go to bed mate.
I would like to say I have respect for Barca fans, but I truly cannot find any reasons why, they are egotistical, arrogant, and have no bounds, the ones I've seen do not respect me, so I have no respect for them.
True that. Im barcelona born and modern football killed our fan base mate. Camp Nou is full of clueless tourists these days... who actually give a f*ck about the team and the real fans are outplaced plus the ultras and hooligans groups were banned from the stadium in 2003 (11 years with anyone in the stadium to lead the atmosphere). Thats why our stadium is a cementery. Worst atmosphere in Europe hands down. FCB till i die. #AMF
Good to hear a real barca fan from barcelona, that he says the thing we all now! I hope that barca make the tickets cheaper so the real fans could go to the stadium! More fans, Low tourists! Just like the old days when barca had fans in the stadium!
Realmadrid is not just about money , Real madrid is a passion is a love since the childhood , i opened wy eyes seeing ZIDAN , CASILLAS , FIGO , RONALDO , HIERRO , HELGUERA , SOLARI , MCMANAMAN , ROBERTO CARLOS , RAUL , SALGADO , MAKALELE , REALMADRID is in deep of my heart , "HALA MADRID Y NADA MAS"
Barça fans talking bullshit about how much money Real spends.. Hilarious. They think we're idiots. Ibrahimovic 70M€, Suarez 85M€ Neymar¿¿?? More than 120M€? We'll never know.
Nicolai Lie no mate. I'm saying that we all are the same. Real got a whole amazing team in the 90's without spending 1€. And Barça got many great players without spending so much 7 years ago. sometimes these players just happen from inside the club. But that's it, It just happen sometimes. Same in Milan, Ajax, and many other examples. But they claim to have a philosophy. BULLSHIT. They got a great time and paid 70M for Ibra only cuz we got Ronaldo and needed to equal or t-shirts selling.
i don't know the future, but i know that one day if we have catalonia or if we have spain with madrid and barcelona, the football will be part of history, this is so nice, football is already an art, imagine football being part of history, this is crazy, love football
El Classico is the media derby. Just two clubs with over active PR departments claiming it is the biggest in the world. Man Utd vs Liverpool is the biggest derby because they get the biggest global viewers. El Classico has 300 million viewers, the scouse-man derby get 450 million viewers.
Love watching Barcelona fans rejoice like this so much in a season that Real Madrid ended up winning the champions league, first of 3 in 4. It's like releasing a rabbit back into the wild and seeing how happy it gets before being immediately swooped up and killed by an eagle.
Alex Balazs I have to disagree. Just because the magnitude of this games transcends city/country/continent/ lines does not make it any less passionate. If anything it makes it more amazing. People save money all year along to travel long distances and make time in their lives to be there and support the team they love. That is passion! PASSION has nothing to do with being a local, Passion is feeling the love for your team no matter the distance or what nationally/color/ or economic background you come from. That my friend, is Passion, and this game has more of it worldwide than any other event on this planet.
@@eduardoaguilar569 Today, 99% of Real and Barça supporters are from Bangladesh, Iran, Indonesia... Football became just a commercial product in Europe. The roots of this sport went to trash.
Here in Spain we have a lot derbies that don't have the same attention that El Clasico has, like Andalucia's derby, Galician derby, and many more. You should do a video about any other Spanish Derby, they all have some interesting stuff to see.
Barcelona has a relationship with the football itself. Barcelona exercises a personal relationship with the essence of the beautiful game. Barcelona welcomes all of the people that need a club to follow, it's one of their values as a club. Their academy system focuses on a beautiful system of play, in addition they give their academy students an education for the world just in case they don't make the first team so they can have a career besides football just in case. They say that football unites people unites the world spreads love. Barcelona does all of that the best. Real Madrid just sees football as a business and all they want to do is win. For Barca they want to play beautifully and winning is an extra.
I've been to the clasico in the Santiago Bernabeu and Barça fans got nothing on Real Madrid fans, the real madrid fans are mental and barça fans a toursist or independentists
+Patrick McPolin I think the distinction is they didn't buy Neymar from a top league, whereas Ronaldo, Bale, etc. were often bought from teams in top leagues
its usually the second clasico that is more intense because of the pressure of gain the 3 decisive point that can possibly define the champions of spain
The information in this video its false. Franco's team was Atlético Aviación (actual Atlético de Madrid) not Real Madrid. Its usual to tell that was Real Madrid but people are wrong.
Everybody Says, Real Madrid just Buys and barca creates, However, Neymar, Suarez, Rakitic, Arda, Mascherano, Bravo, Alves, Alba, Were Bought and they were NOT cheap... #Halla_Madrid 10 Champions
+De_matos hahahah 4 champion* the 6 bar jars that you call "champions" are from a total different competition than the nowadays champions league. It was a competition organized by the madrid president, the best teams didn't take part in the first editions, etc
+De_matos and ACS, Florentino company, it is the company that has more money in tax havens. Not to mention that their signings are paid with money from rescued banks. And none of those things are investigated because of his power. (florentino supports the most corrupt political party in spain)
+Arturo Avéiro Silva da Luiz don't judge by a youtube video, there are many tourists yep, and more in a match like these one, but i'd say that the majority of people who go to camp nou on liga matches are from catalunya. (Also from spain and other tourists)
First of all Franco directly saved Barcelona from disappearance helping them with their debts that were going to end the institution forever. Franco, as all big militars of the regime were Atletico de Aviación fans (old name of Atlético de Madrid). Also as everyone in Spain, Barcelona fans from that time, never show any kind of disrespect to Franco and they never have linked themselves with the spanish republicans. Franco only uses Real for propaganda when they start winning in Europe with Di Stefano, Gento, Puskas etc. In fact, Barcelona during Franco regime, won more copas del generalisimo (copa del rey at francos time), and Real Madrid won more leagues, but in total national trophies during Francos regime the difference is 1 trophy, Real Madrid 21 and Barcelona 20, the difference was made by Real Madrid in Europe. And Franco didn't have any kind of power against the rest of european countries. This are facts.
This isn't a derby. This is a rivalry. Barca vs Espanyol & Real Madrid vs Atletico are real derbies!

The guy on the right, with the blue and yellow shirt.
That's the shirt of Tigres UANL, from Monterrey, México.
LET'S GOOOOOOOO!!!
It makes me sick to see people referring to the “Catalan flag” when in reality is the independence flag, as per the pictures shown.
This is so well shot it could be a TV program
Bring this series back
I would like to say I have respect for Barca fans, but I truly cannot find any reasons why, they are egotistical, arrogant, and have no bounds, the ones I've seen do not respect me, so I have no respect for them.
Partizan - Red Star (BELGRADE-SERBIA)
thats no derby...only tourists! The real fans cant pay a ticket!
hahaha.....for real ???
prince charles yea thats what I heard too
"The real fans" lol'd
Please cover the PSG against Marseille, it's the biggest game in France, we call it, "Le classique".
The turino derby isn't big in the world but I love it.
Realmadrid is not just about money , Real madrid is a passion is a love since the childhood , i opened wy eyes seeing ZIDAN , CASILLAS , FIGO , RONALDO , HIERRO , HELGUERA , SOLARI , MCMANAMAN , ROBERTO CARLOS , RAUL , SALGADO , MAKALELE , REALMADRID is in deep of my heart , "HALA MADRID Y NADA MAS"
it's not just about money but most of the names you said were at the top of record breaking money spended at that time
Barça fans talking bullshit about how much money Real spends.. Hilarious. They think we're idiots. Ibrahimovic 70M€, Suarez 85M€ Neymar¿¿?? More than 120M€? We'll never know.
David Lopez Real Madrid have spent 1553168746785354 times more than that
so you are comparing buying 3 players to buying an entire team? :)) nice logic you got there mate
El Pistolero and we paid our taxes ;)
Nicolai Lie no mate. I'm saying that we all are the same. Real got a whole amazing team in the 90's without spending 1€. And Barça got many great players without spending so much 7 years ago. sometimes these players just happen from inside the club. But that's it, It just happen sometimes. Same in Milan, Ajax, and many other examples. But they claim to have a philosophy. BULLSHIT. They got a great time and paid 70M for Ibra only cuz we got Ronaldo and needed to equal or t-shirts selling.
David Lopez and we actually developed our stars
united vs liverpool
manchester derby
United and Liverpool are not rivals. Liverpool and Everton are rivals. United and city are rivals.
S3KCRY4N You're stupid. The rivalry between Liverpool and United is bigger than the one between United and City. Look it up.
united and liverpool are huge rivals
What do you mean United probably hate Liverpool more than they hate city.
Liverpool vs everton are rivals and City vs man.United are rivals
For derby days, Eli should go to Mexico for El Superclasico between America and Guadalajara in October. They take that rivalry serious, as well.
i don't know the future, but i know that one day if we have catalonia or if we have spain with madrid and barcelona, the football will be part of history, this is so nice, football is already an art, imagine football being part of history, this is crazy, love football
Barca Barcelona Barcelona! Barcelona for life! Barca Barcelona Barcelona! Viva Barcelona! YAY!

Feyenoord vs Ajax, de klassieker van Nederland
Feyenoord vs Ajax, THE dutch derby. It's. a classic
and el clasico
Ajax is the best in nederland
Geat video!!!Thanks And Força Barça!!!
El Classico is the media derby. Just two clubs with over active PR departments claiming it is the biggest in the world. Man Utd vs Liverpool is the biggest derby because they get the biggest global viewers. El Classico has 300 million viewers, the scouse-man derby get 450 million viewers.
I like Madrid.......
Atletico Madrid
Medal?
Rafaelojello24 3 words really an anwser of a real madrid fan
Visca barca visca catalunya
Fake Madrid*
Rafaelojello24 hey two word champions league hahahah
Hold tight fam my G
Love watching Barcelona fans rejoice like this so much in a season that Real Madrid ended up winning the champions league, first of 3 in 4. It's like releasing a rabbit back into the wild and seeing how happy it gets before being immediately swooped up and killed by an eagle.
15 minutos tratando de desprestigiar al Real Madrid.
I thought Eli was going to Fenerbahce-Galatasaray Derby, where is the video? It's been more than a week.
great video, very insightful
9:58 Hello from Kyrgyzstan! Салам из Кыргызыстана!

Awesome vid!!!!!!!!! made me subscribe
El Classico isn't a derby but it has the same rivalry, hate , passion, as a derby...-)
One day I will see the El'classico live
El Clásico is tragic, just glory hunters and tourists... do Celtic vs Rangers when they play again!!, that's passion.
boca junior vs river plate
Boca Juniors ftw
Alex Balazs
I have to disagree. That my friend, is Passion, and this game has more of it worldwide than any other event on this planet.
juan armenta He couldn't take a camera to that game it would get stolen lol.
Epin Hervin Celts are from across all of the UK and Ireland and even across Europe.
Compared to the River - Boca episode, this one seems like a friendly match.
Lo mismo pense
There is no real rivalry in El Classico. It's just commercial.
@@Gabriel-cx5nx you just dont Know about football
@@eduardoaguilar569 Today, 99% of Real and Barça supporters are from Bangladesh, Iran, Indonesia... Football became just a commercial product in Europe. The roots of this sport went to trash.
@@Gabriel-cx5nx but there is rivalry when you are born in one of the cities you know its different , its also poltical
Need more of these
Here in Spain we have a lot derbies that don't have the same attention that El Clasico has, like Andalucia's derby, Galician derby, and many more.
Come on man 😂
You really believe that bs?
I've been to the clasico in the Santiago Bernabeu and Barça fans got nothing on Real Madrid fans, the real madrid fans are mental and barça fans a toursist or independentists
Dr RBO both have lots of plastic fans too but they also have amazing fans and amazing ultras
didn't barca buy neymar
+Patrick McPolin I think the distinction is they didn't buy Neymar from a top league, whereas Ronaldo, Bale, etc. were often bought from teams in top leagues
+AFl GeEk they would of bought him from a top league if they would have waited any longer let's be honest
+Hatim elouaqour you are right
@@imhatim4743 but they didnt, so whats your point
its usually the second clasico that is more intense because of the pressure of gain the 3 decisive point that can possibly define the champions of spain
The information in this video its false. Franco's team was Atlético Aviación (actual Atlético de Madrid) not Real Madrid. Its usual to tell that was Real Madrid but people are wrong.
CELTIC+BARCA= TOGETHER FOR FREEDOM
Barza/Real best football match every year
Boca vs. River makes this rivalry look like child's play
No way. Maybe in passion but not in rivalry. Boca Vs River is a sport rivalry. Madrid Vs Barcelona goes beyond sport. It's politics.
@I HATE TOUCANS you don"t have a clue what you're talking about
@@nachopulp the super clasico is 100x the rivalry than el clasico. Anybody who has been to both would tell you this
Maaaal
@@nachopulp nada que ver, política? Todo el país está en contra de la independencia así que cualquiera a nivel político tiene bronca con Cataluña

Aston Villa vs Birmingham City. REMEMBER 2011?!?!
How about 2008? ;p
who do you support ?
(florentino supports the most corrupt political party in spain)
try some low league derbies - Wrexham and chester
Yh Real fans. Good call.
Agree. Chester is my non league team
Awesome serie..got to learn a lot.
Quien ha hecho el video!!! Sale mi bar el in blue y me doy cuenta ahora???? Gracias!!!!
lol if you look 50% of Barca "fans" are tourists
And then you look at the 90% Madrid fans tourists
+ScyrenMC haha not really😂
+Arturo Avéiro Silva da Luiz don't judge by a youtube video, there are many tourists yep, and more in a match like these one, but i'd say that the majority of people who go to camp nou on liga matches are from catalunya. (Also from spain and other tourists)
+Arturo Avéiro Silva da Luiz If you say t hey're tourists that's good because, atleast they're going to their stadium.
+Joshua Obszanski makes no sense
