2 years ago just as I reached the cloud peak summit I got a weather alert on my phone that up to 18" of snow was coming. That was the longest, roughest day I've had in the park. All the way up in a day from westvtensleep trailhead, then all the way back out to the car without overnighter. Just carried all that gear for NOTHING. spent the rest of that trip in the black hills as the snow absolutely did come. Can't imagine navigating that terrain in knee deep snow ....
Wild horses and waterfalls and beautiful mountains. Incredible place my friend. First time I’ve heard of the area. I hope you made it out of the wag bag area ok 😁😂 That little spot for your tent was a blessing. Enjoyed the video and trip brother 👍🏻👍🏻
Thx for the video. I did the loop the 3rd week in July this summer with a friend. It is a beautiful area and fun place to hike. The only area I did not like was hiking the section thru the 2 reservoirs. The navigation was difficult in a few places and we made a couple of faux pas that resulted in backtracking and adding additional miles. Keep up the good work.
You can definitely tell the altitude was getting you. Beautiful scenery. Murphy's Law would dictate that you would have to drop a deuce in the no poop zone, however the ziploc would not be rated for the impact velocity.
@11:00 That is bomber mountain on the north side of Florence lake. In the 1940s a B-52 bomber crashed into the mountain. The wreckage wasn't found for a couple years, no one survived. The site is considered a grave site, but you can visit it.
Great video!! Awesome journey!, thanks for sharing! I love the Big Horns!! Beauty everywhere and not a lot of people! Robin lake near Geneva pass is my favorite place.
The horses are hobbled (their front legs tied together) so they can roam around to feed, don't wander off too far and are easier to round up in the morning.🤠

@@BackpackingWithJason thanks bro. I hope your ankle is on the mend. Those horses weren’t wild. Cowboys and camp nearby.
@@MidwestBackpacker it’s getting better. Thanks for asking. I’m walking a little bit each day. Getting my strength back
You acclimated quickly. Great video, cheers!
Bravo buddy. That pine camp was a lucky find!
Great perseverance! Awesome video as always!
Great set of videos... guess I should add this loop to the list
Great trip bro. Elevation is a humbling mistress. Way to push though.

Gorgeous views. Thank you for another great video.
Awesome as usual. Great job powering through.
The no poop zone scares me😅

Another interesting video! Did you drive strait home or did you stop at a hotel or someplace to take a shower?

I'm so curious why those horses were hopping like that!
@@taracarmichael1221 I was to!! It was a playful hopping. I think they were young. Older horses laying down nearby weren’t impressed.

How’s that pillow strap. Worth it?
@@jonathanhoover5607 yes. Love it
It is 43 degrees and you wish it were a little bit warmer. Put on some pants and it will be a little bit warmer!
