You've reminded me why I've vowed to skip the first 40 miles if I ever hike this trail again. Nice to see the Highline pack being used for its namesake!
Awesome video. Entertainment overload in the woods! Can't beat that. Gotta love those dehydrated Subways, and of course, the backpacker friendly grouse that let ya pass on thru. 👍👍
Wow, those were some very impressive big-mile days in brutal conditions! Beautiful video, thanks for the effort. I know that feeling when the sun comes out after so much bad weather!
Sounds like a trip to the Uintas! Rain, hail, lightning, sun, trail full of boulders. Check, check, check, check and check. Trying to stay warm and it was probably 100+ degrees down in Salt Lake. Glad to see you're getting the full experience 😆.
I did the Highline in 2022. Don’t like the weather in Utah? Wait 10 minutes. Looks like you guys hit all the windows. You are about to enter the wilderness where this trail really shines!
.. This hike brings back many memories to time in the Colorado Rockies ,, Daily snow or pellet hail then sunshine and fish going crazy ,, which is my reason to backpack .... Lots of research and planning to spend time in the Uintahs and other parts of Utah ,, but haven't made it happen yet .... Look forward to next phase .. Stay Safe ...
Now I know what you meant about reliving it! Watching this, it was like I was back there. You had much rougher weather than we did! I know you said you were sick before you started and had that cough, but I recognize that cough. I had it too.
Funny how tech works.. I was just looking at the Uinta trails on OnX yesterday trying to build up a list of non-national park trails to start going today I came across your videos!
Nice! Ya - the eastern part of this trail can be difficult to navigate - I got off course a couple times. It would have been tough without gps. The endless North Pole Pass coming up!
1:19 Uniqueness is a binary property; one of a kind. Something cannot be very unique or somewhat unique. It is either the only one or it is not the only one. The Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas run east-west. That aspect of these mountains is not unique. If you are just talking about their uniqueness with regard to their specific topography, flora and fauna, then every mountain range is unique. :p 18:00 I got Covid watching this video. Awesome trip. Thanks for sharing. I might be a little cantankerous today. Haha.
Grouse wings in flight: a sound that strikes terror in the heart of every backpacker in the west haha

Oh hail yeah! Great video. As a fellow flatlander, I understand the O2 considerations at elevation. Cheers 🍻

Altitude is real for us Midwest Boys. Having to watch your map a lot does kinda suck man. I've had too many of those lately too.
Welcome to the Uintahs. Wait 5 minutes and the weather will change.
