Heard this song first at my cousin Richard’s funeral on live stream from Australia last night. As someone who has experienced depression I was deeply moved. Only someone who has been in the dark place of depression can understand the pain and hopelessness that is felt. Jesus lifted me out of the mirey clay and put my feet on solid ground. This song depicts the coming out from darkness so beautifully.
It also is a fitting image of moving from this world of struggle into the glorious presence of our saviour, when our time on earth is through. This is the hope that all who know Jesus have. Thanks Lucy

Yes. This intensely shows what we experience in depression. Covers over the head, wanting something but not able to face it. But oh how the Rescuer is there ready to pull us out, carry us, allow us to feel again.

What an amazing video and song. Its taken me a few days and deep listens to really know to write about this beautiful creation. These latest songs from the new album seem to be bringing a new aspect to Lucy's writing. For me there is intensely personal and vulnerable writing here - that is a privilege to be offered a listen into. It reminds a little of some of Joni Mitchell's work - and Amy Grant's 'Behind the Eyes' album. Really personal worship that 'invites us in' to follow and be open to what God also wants to do in our lives. I loved the video - it has such a cinematic quality. I have also listened to the song also with no video/imagery ...and it seems to reveal even more also in the listen. The simplicity of the arrangement and restraint in the production itself lends such power to the words. We have ALL experienced those dark times when we are waiting.. ready...for the dawn. Jesus does come at those moments. His timing is perfect. This song seems to say so much. It gives hope. What a blessing . Thank you.
