I swear Les has got this Mr. Rogers vide when he's doing these shows. This soothing tone tinged with curiosity and a layer of steel underneath from experience.
Oh man, I got some goosebumps reading this description. You're absolutely right. Well said, I hope you have a good day!
Well said!
he is great teacher who loves what he does and wants everyone to learn from him and love it. just like mr rogers.
I have been watching Les for years. Awesome Guy
I think Les is too passive-aggressive and overbearing to be compared to Mr. Rodgers, but the chef does give off a peaceful, Mr. Rodgers vibe for sure.
I look forward to these I really like these shows puts me at peace with so much going on in this world.
Me too✌
What I like about Les is the no bull crap attitude and his down to earth and honest videos, stay grounded mate you are a legend and respected :-)
"On the other hand, this is Oregon."
Truer words have never been spoken.
Only Les Stroud can start with a survival show and turn it into a cooking show! This perfectly blends my two favourite shows, survival and cooking! Love it!
What I enjoy the most is the concept of two experts in their own fields that are sharing their respective passion to each other. Les is sharing is love of nature and bring to Paul ingredients he never heard of before and Paul gives back by sharing his love of cooking and by giving a new taste to these ingredients that Les has never experienced. This is a great idea supported by fantastic images and nice music. Brillant, merci!
Love that theres no politics or random stuff in these videos! Just a couple of lads doing awesome stuff in the wilderness
"...why are my hands muddy when yours are not?" Lol best line.
"Why are my hands muddy and yours are not?" :D
Les Stroud: you could not have picked a better time in your life to do the Foraging episodes 👍 Much respect from Texas
That wild ginger and Trout dish looks and sounds so delicious.
I can’t even explain how good this is. This is like ‘04 era Food Network. Before the “game-show” craze took over completely. If this was on a major network it would be the cream of the crop.
I'm so glad he's doing this project. So much more personal than Survivorman. I heard him talk about the hardship of doing it alone when making that show. Maybe this let's him do more of himself. Love the help he had in this venture. Very enjoyable.
I love your Wild Harvest series. I live in the Pacific Northwest on the Olympic Peninsula, WA. Local foraging and fishing is the favorite pastime of our small group of retired women. Pickled kelp bulbs, mushrooms, clams and oysters, halibut, salmon, ling cod, berries, wild truffles that Mary's Lagotto Romagnolo sniffs out , dandelion greens, etc. all find their way to our tables. My friends and I complement each other in the preparation of such delicious edibles. We have a lot of pot lucks over spirited games of Scrabble and camp out every chance we get. Life is delicious if you know where to look.
When my oldest son was born, I would get up every Saturday morning and watch the DVR of surviorman from the night before with him while I fed him his bottle. My wife would watch it with me sometimes, but she wasn't a die hard viewer like I was. But she absolutely loves watching this with me. Thank you Les. You've shown us a hobby we can both love together. ❤️
Les is a very smart man. I have a lot of respect for him.
Idk why I haven't watched this series until now. It's perfect
This show makes me so hungry for vegetables every time I watch it. Lol. I've resorted to watching this show while eating. It kind of offsets the added hunger from these beautiful dishes. Well done sir!
I caught a few episodes of this show on PBS and I'm absolutely obsessed now. This show is so calming and inspiring, and I absolutely want to learn how to forage and live *with* the nature around me instead of just in it.
Another great premiere to Les,Paul and your team..Wow, all inspiring to the heart of the value in whats in our wild forests, great to learn, teach and share up the effort..Great chef meets Les and makes a great touching experience in the elements of nature..I love seeing Labradors but I had a sad tear to my eyes after my brothers lab passed away a week ago being 15 years..Thank you once again for this opportunity to view..
That Trout dish looked so delicious I ate it with my eyes!
I absolutely love these episodes of wild harvest! Growing up I would watch surviorman, and very eagerly wait for the next episode, but with these I find myself wanting to explore nature more, possibly to find a new sense of meaning, one that coincides more with the beauty all around us that we take for granted so much. Thanks guys, the videos are very informative and well put together! I wouldn't expect anything less from survivorman, and his crew.
Almost 30,000 views and only just above 1000 likes ?? Come guys show Les some support !! This is an amazing show !
Les Stroud is the Bob Ross of the outdoors.
Wow! Thank you brother! Reciprocity through connectivity. Spirituality recognized in natural processes. Human valence for nature's chemistry. Higher awareness achieved through absorbing natural energetic blend and flow. Deep, man. It's truth and that is why some of us are attracted.
Thank you again. God bless everyone.
I thought i wouldn't care for this show but its beautifully shot, edited, and the dishes look amazing. Very relaxing show. Les hitting it out of the park again.
The World could use a lot more people like Les
This episode is a work of art!!!
You guys are killing me. This is the best RUclips content ever.
Every show Les makes is just awesome!
i love this series. i first saw it on PBS and then they ran out of episodes and i found them on RUclips... so great. there are rumors of a third season... i can only hope! thank you and to Chef Paul - super inspiring. thanks.
Excellent stuff. I watched Survivorman series for years and wasn't sure about this, but now I find myself watching episode after episode.
I swear this guy is what got me into foods when I was little
Same Les, but with the calming vibes of a cooking show. This is perfect, I'm in bed sick with a flu / cold / something and this is very calming.
Make more "Wild Harvest" episodes!!!!!!.
I find these videos so calming and soothing (Also very informative) to watch.
Ok I'm hooked. Theres just so much going on here. But my god the passion from you two just radiates through the screen. I'm going to make dandelion tea tomorrow for my very first wild harvested treat
Did those cattails ever take root in your pond? Thanks for all of the knowledge and entertainment you've given to us over the years.
Thank you Les, for sharing these episodes with us! It's so lighthearted and powerful all at once. I love the atmosphere you guys create. Watching all your life's work is my safe haven, where I can retreat from the world and step into yours for awhile..
This Chef is awesome!
Incredible utilization of local flora
I love that the definition is greatly improved in your later work.
Les, good job on the show. This is a brilliant idea in so many ways. This is going to impact the future so much. I wish I could taste the food.
What a great way to show respect to nature by (re)planting in your own back yard. I love to do the same when I harvest from the wild. In fact I have some wild ginger growing in my own yard. I also cultivate will mushrooms, ramps and paw paws
Wild Harvest is up there with Antiques Roadshow for the best shows on PBS. Brilliant show, so educational. Thanks, Les.
"Well this is Oregon" Explains so many things done there
It's like Wild America but with plants and a gourmet dinner. Also ginger and reciprocity 💗
this show's music choices combined with great content Les certainly knows what people want to see, this man is a wealth of knowledge. Les if you're reading this, well done my friend well done!
You guys are hard core. Thank you for these great informative video's.
This is brilliant! My favorite scene in survivorman are the one where it involves food. This is best of both world!
Absolutely wonderful Les...agian thank you!
Thank you both!!!
Thank you. Thank you Les.
some of the best times had in life are spent here with Mr Stroud, well done Sir.
Yes! Knocking it out of the park with this series! Thanks for keeping the amazing content coming!
Love the episode, chef plating is something else I don’t ever want to eat off of a log or a rock unless I have to
Thank you for you outstanding contribution to humanity Sirs! 🙏🏽👊🏽✌🏽
Now this is something i can really get into. I love food and nature and this really encapsulates both worlds and brings them together from a whole different perspective im not use to seeing. Thanks Les
Wild cookery can be an artform which can be very difficult, but rewarding nonetheless. Some things are so hard to cook well. Meaning make taste good.
Really enjoying this. Thanks for sharing!
I wish I could like his video more than once.
thank you, Les.
Very cool, I love it, brother! New recipe ideas are just flowing! 🤘
Thank you Les! this series sparked me to join a class to explore biology and foraging here in Washington State!
This is one of my new favorite series. Thanks Les!
I also want to know how I'm just learning about this show ..when I have watched everything..twice sometimes even the pit ..love the episodes with your son ..and I've been subscribed..maybe I got too many subs but I wish I seen or known about these earlier..I hope you already have more great shows coming...
Really starting to get into these.
Wish Les would do a cook book
Please keep it up Les! Keeps me going
Such a good show
Great new direction for your videos. Well done.
this is an awesome new series , so glad to see you expanding the teaching !!
This is a great series Less, probably my favorite of all your work to date
I came across these on PBS Create and really enjoyed them.
Watching this episode...wow. I ate dinner not an hour ago, and this meal is something I could dig into right now! Can't wait to see more episodes.
Beautiful episode!
Wonderful gathering great cook
Been requesting WUCF (Orlando, FL) pick your series up!! Nothing yet...great stuff!!
Wild edible stuff is exactly what I want to see and learn about. Thank you for the great video.
What an amazing episode and show. Thank you Les and Paul. This was just fascinating to watch. I only wish I was there to taste it. :)
I love how you bring Rogue everywhere lol
"On the other hand, this is Oregon" Yeeaaahhhh, someone probably found the miner's lettuce in that spot and decided to help it for their own personal crop. I wouldn't at all be surprised. Might even see that in spots of Washington and Idaho too
Les, this is some of your best work ever. Can’t get enough! 🌲 🍴
That is so awesome. That there is what the essence of being a chef is. Maybe a tad disappointed he didn't find some edible mushrooms.
Such a great channel and Les is a fantastic teacher. I'm very stoked about the upcoming series on surviving disaster.
I Enjoyed This Very Much Les. Thank You. There was something very calming and peaceful about it
Stoked to see you back, and learning from you Les!
the boss ross of survival
Great job Les keep up the good work
This is a very relaxing series.
So glad your still putting out content, love watching....
I would love to see you do wild harvest in the upper peninsula of Michigan!
I'm loving this series 🤠
Great episode les!
Les and Paul, great work. Enjoying these episodes. How would you prepare some of these in a survival situation? Namely, the ginger and cattail starch.
I go foraging all the time... at my local 7-11... of course that is often after imbibing some local herb...
Less and team this is fantastic. This last year I really started looking at wild edibles and also started Monday night special dinner night. Thank you for the true inspiration. I'm going to work on my local edibles and get them planned into my Monday night feast.
I can't get enough of this sir les absolutely love this stuff . Would like for you to come to the new jersey pine Barrens for one of these shows
This is my favorite wild edibles episode. In honor of this one we pulled some feral garlic from a hidden patch and stole a ginger root from our container garden. It's not the right rime of year for cattail root so we cut a flowering stalk from our yucca to make a braised ginger & garlic yucca stalk stir fry with foraged dandelion, plantain, violets, and morels. You have to know your area. Practice, cook, taste, and practice! Every domestic plant we enjoy today started out as a foraged wild edible.
I take it the cat tail starch pancakes were not so good? lol Loving this new series Les cant wait to see and learn more!
What is this story about if it is not about loving nature? Awesome man, with all respects from BC Canada:)
Watching this is making me hungry ^_^ survivorman is on next and surviving disasters cant wait for that one
These episodes are awesome Les!!!! Anybody know who makes that jacket Les is wearing @ 7:00?
