I first watched this episode in the summer (this is my 2nd viewing) and I remember thinking, "I haven't seen a daisy in years. I guess there's none near me."
The very next day, I was out for a walk and I found daisies growing in many little places near my home. I guess I just needed a reminder to slow down and appreciate the small, beautiful things around us.
Les, thank you for this great show.

I would just like to say it's 2021 we're still talking about Les Stroud. Can we just appreciate that for a moment?
On the real though, I love this program because it teaches us to respect the nature all around us but it also teaches us that if we show nature the respect it deserves, it will provide us everything we need.
By the way, that steak sandwich look bomb ass. Excellent use of the natural ingredients from Mother Earth , and I liked Les' commentary on it.
Please don't ever stop making these, Les. 💛💛

I never have felt the need to post a reply on a video before. I mean who cares what I think? But I just have to say, the combination of Les and his overall knowledge of life, and Chef Paul’s amazing positive outlook on life, on top of his culinary prowess. I never thought a show such a this could change how I look at life. But after watching all the episodes over and over again. It has just made me want to at least try to become as much of a better person as I possibly can. Thank you so much Les and Paul. Hope you guys both know you changing peoples lives for the better with shows like this.

I watched this at the perfect moment. I have dandelion greens, that are a little bitter because they are older, sitting in my fridge and I was wondering about a lovely way to prepare them. So you inspired me! I made a pureed, chilled fennel and grapefruit soup, and steak with a garnish of mushrooms and skillet-seared dandelion greens. Thank you so much! I am learning from you both; harvesting with care and respect and loving it!
Over the last 4 years, I have slowly created a "food forest" in my front yard. Everything is native to my state and feeds either me, the local animals, birds or insects with an eye towards drought-tolerant given climate change. It's a learning journey and work in progress to be sure. It's only one teeny, tiny inner city yard, but now there is now so much life where there once was just grass.

My girlfriend and I did some wild harvest with blackberries only a block and a walk away from home. Turning that into a blackberry kombucha after the berries are done macerating in the fridge. Down the street just like you guys are doing in this episode. I love living here in Oregon and it excites me every time a new plant is revealed in this show since we share the same Northwest demographic of plants.

Cooking is easier than you think and it won't take you very long to develop an analytic palate. Mess about in your kitchen and watch a few YT tutorials on how to balance types of flavours (sweet, salty, bitter, sour, and savory) and basic control of and application of heat. You'll make mistakes but that's normal. Pretty soon you'll be *much* better than you thought you could be.

The family and I have gathered and processed atleast 20/30 different types of wild edibles from our 1 acre property. everything from currants and cranberry’s to Boletes , Chaga, and even Morels. Also lots of greens like dandelions, Fireweed, and plantain. Many meals from our driveway.

    great episode.
daisies are so underappreciated as a wild edible (i also like to use the flowers as a wild yeast source for brewing)
and great advice about letting a section of lawn go. I try to have as much of my property as possible be a bounty reflecting the local wild terroir (for my family and for pollinators to enjoy), but a lot next to my home was leveled for a new house and has been left in a freshly excavated state for a season as they have delayed building due to permit issues, and the whole lot became a crop of german chamomile (a daisy cousin) and other various wild edibles (chicory etc)
amazing what nature can do so quickly to what was once a monoculture or barren place in such a short time if left to work its magic.

I wish you and Mr. Rogalski would come to America and do some Wild Harvest videos. You could have fans contact you (those in the country) that had enough land to forage through, and make a video. We live in the middle (ish) of Alabama. Between my grandmother and Aunt they have 10 acres (5 a piece) of land, and it joins together most of it is wooded. That would be so cool. I know there would have to be papers signed. People could send you videos of their land. Just a thought...👍👍👍
