To me, Hong Kong is a near perfect city. It has the hustle and bustle, the many cultures, awesome (!) food, noise and smells, but at the same time you can escape it all in no time at all! There are so many hiking trails, nature with no one around, and islands with near-empty beaches and everything can literally be reached by MTR/bus/ferry in half an hour or so. The only issue really is the price of housing which is astronomically high for very tiny apartments...
There is definitely plenty to do, you would need about two weeks to see everything comfortably without rushing! You just missed a lot due to your monetary restrictions (such as getting the star ferry to Kowloon (and actually seeing more than HK Island), hiking, visits to the temples, taking a ferry to Lamma Island, eating dim sum, the fishing village of Tai O which is a totally different world to HK Island, seeing some more traditional Chinese culture in the New Territories). These things don't cost any/little money, but it's still more than no money at all. That being said, I was really impressed at what you did manage to do! And I also greatly enjoyed the videos :) thank you for making them!! x

If you go to South America you should DEFINITELY do a long challenge in Brazil. My mom is Brazilian and I spent years there as a kid and teen, and I can tell you would love it. The country is amazing and there are so many amazing places to see. And more importantly, Brazilians are REALLY friendly and welcoming, especially to tourists, so no doubt you wouldn't struggle there.

English accents are very common in HK, considering it's an ex-British colony with a LOT of expats. It wouldn't be too hard to keep your accent there.
British school and british parents. Im sure he speaks cantonese as well. Indians or chinese people in the UK still keep their accents in their native language.

We took our 3 kids (aged 9, 7 & 5) to Hong Kong for a week last Feb half term and we loved it! A week wasn’t long enough! Your vlog is brilliant as always but there are so many things you didn’t get to see like the 10,000 buddhas, the big buddah, the peak, Disneyland to name just a few! It was the best holiday we’ve had! Looking forward to seeing your next location!

I visited Hong Kong last march and I remember seeing almost everything that your showcasing in these vlogs. The ferry stops from day 1 and the view and mall from the day 2 vlogs and even the Stanley Plaza from this vlog! Its amazing seeing this and bringing back the memories. Thanks for videos and keep up the great work!
That big fella was a good guy, not only his personality, but his view of everything was different on a no money challenge! He didn't do sleeping on a seat or going without food! The point is to live well with no money and with him you eat well and sleep well on the last night. :)

Absolutely love how you take someone along your travels. It makes it a lot more interesting in some moments (like: would he also get on the bus? Would he also be able to get the breakfast for free?) but you also get some of their insights on these journeys. Really happy you take along people with you on more journeys. IMO, it makes it a lot more entertaining! (And I already loved your videos with just you in it!)
Also used your videos as inspiration when I got stuck in Amsterdam for the night. I tried the same luxury hotel, but wasn't as successful as you... But it's the inspiration that counts, that made me try it either way!

Enjoyed this one mate. Going back to HK for a couple weeks in April. I disagree with their not being much to do, I think it's a place where you can't juts wing it and need to know the right places. Cheng Chau, Shek O, LKF, Wan Chai, Sai Kung, Junk Trips. Also real shame you couldn't go Mr Wongs in Mong Kok, the guy is the biggest legend in HK.
Hello from Hong Kong! Don't know why been a long time for me to find this video, was actually very surprising to see some stuff like sneaking on and off the public transports were actually possible, didn't think that was possible. I would recommend if you might visit Hong Kong again, try going to the Peak, beautiful views, would recommend using the tram for the Peak to get up there, and also find hike trails as they can literally take you from area to area in Hong Kong. Also for travelling try using the MTR only to go around places, it actually connect basically all of Hong Kong. I would also recommend going into New Territories a region in Hong Kong which is vastly different to Hong Kong island. The MTR for New Territories is actually not subway but train as there is no need to go underground with all the flat land available. The museums is a go-to as well imo, if you ever try flying to Hong Kong tho, try Cathay Pacific, economy/business are both really amazing, don't know about the first never been on one. I heard my brother said tho if you want to party and drink go to Lan Kwai Fong could potentially meet a lot of people there. Was very fun seeing someone reviewing Hong Kong and trying to survive with no money!

Julien B Agreed. Missed out almost all of the best things to do. Sneaking on the tram to the peak would of been amazing.
I think they did a pretty good job. I know people to go to HK and never leave central. Also there is a huge expat community in HK so it’s understandable Will can’t speak Chinese. Almost all westerners who live there can’t.
Natasha 77 and yet westerners always expect everybody to assimilate to their counties and speak their language when other immigrate to their countries lol, I just find it ridiculous, I’ve lived in Hong Kong too, it’s a pathetic excuse. Also they def did a good job in terms of the goal of the video, and I understand with no money it’s harder, but if they did proper research they would’ve found a lot to do, they’re there to explore another city and culture that’s the whole point.
I completely understand where your coming from, but Hong Kong was colonised by the British. Also Cantonese is unbelievably difficult. They don’t even teach it in the English schools in Hong Kong.
It’s not easy to learn Cantonese at all it’s difficult. Yes I can speak Cantonese which I would say I am 70% fluent and I am still learning it. Even though I was born here in HK. (But my mother tongue isn’t Cantonese.)Its really hard to learn it. Plus both Simon and Peter didn’t have enough time to explore the whole city as they film also which takes a lot of the time to do all filming.

Love your channel and challenges but I'm confused by the rules, "no subscriber help" yet a subscriber provided you with a boat to sleep on, the same subscriber paid for your taxi to the south island, and the same subscriber got you work in a pub to earn your burger. What exactly are you not getting help from subscribers with?
the no subscriber rule is not a real rule he sticks by tbh
They make it harder. The subscriber cannot actually himself bring food/give donations, let him sleep on their property...it’s already a huge difference

Love your videos! I think it would be interesting if you do a 3-day-challenge without meeting subscribers. So than you have actually 0% subscriber help, would be interesting to see how you will survive that😅 because in the last challenges the subscribers helped you a little with giving you opportunities like the yacht or helping you to get food.
