    If you’re reading this, the Acer nitro 5 is a amazing budget Gaming Laptop, I’ve used mine on very often Upgraded to 32GB Of Ram for just around 100$ as-well as getting a 2TB M.2 NVME SSD, this thing can turn into a beast, especially if you tweak some things, such as Overclocking your CPU and using NVIDIA Control panel you can make this thing nice, I get around 200FPS On GTA V, and around 65-75 FPS on Rust on Graphics setting 5, this is super pocket friendly Laptop, you can get a decent monitor for another 100-200$, I’d give this Laptop a 8/10.

    Acer Nitro 5 (2021 chassis) key selling point is it has 3 storage options (2x nvme + 1x 2.5") while other entry level gaming laptops maxed out at 2 (usually 1x nvme + 1x 2.5"). If the 2022 chassis have the same storage options then it's instant buy. The 2022 chassis have all black base with a minor red/blue streak on the lid. The 2022 Nitro 5 b-roll is up on acer channel.

    • @Norinia
      @Norinia 2 года назад +2

      Yeah, it’s no one’s top choice laptop, but it does do very well for budget gaming. Like the little engine that could.
      I got stuck with the Ryzen 5 rx 560x model a couple years ago, when I was looking for Amy first gaming laptop and my mom saw this in open box and thought it’d be fun to rub in my face that she got one first.
      She’s an Apple user. That decision lasted all of two weeks. I took pity and bought it off of her, but was disappointed I didn’t get GeForce.
      Two years, almost three years later, every time I think I’m at my limit with it, I shove some new upgrade through, and bam it works like new.
      First time? Shoved 32 gigs of RAM into it. Ran like magic. Second time? Turned up the power options. Third? Run the fans at max.
      Final time was recent, I realized finally how to update the graphic card, and it runs like magic again, running Back 4 Blood and other new titles on low- medium.
      But I’m finally kind of done, and I’m upgrading to a desktop in a short while. Not going to have top of the line GPU but everything else inside it will be awesome.
      Still, if there ever was a computer to surprise me, it was the Nitro 5. The little engine that could.

    I can get a nitro 5 , i5 11400 rtx3050 for around half that price or an i7 11800 rtx3050 version for $1200.
    Fifty bucks for an extra ram stick , and a separate monitor and keyboard when I can afford it and I will have a superior allround setup to my destroyed system for around half the price.

    The best time to buy a new laptop is April-June, it is the slowest time for computer sales and the prices reflect the lower demand. The worst times to buy a new computer are right before Christmas and right before school returns back in session. Also, the graphics card companies and other computer part companies like to unveil their newest models in the summer months, which capitalizes on that "back to school" buyer demographic. If you buy in April-June you're usually on the back end of the release schedule as you're essentially buying
    a piece of tech that is very shortly about to become obsolete, but often times the "upgrade" of the newest model isn't drastic enough to warrant the $1,000+ you would pay for that privilege. If you're ok with not having the greatest specs on the market and are satisfied with settling for the "next best thing" at a major discount then buy in the Spring months.

      I do this. Last year's model is always a major upgrade for me lol. Same with vehicles (especially nowadays), but they have to be at least 3 years old to get the best depreciation.

      As long as they’re the same speed it should be fine, but I personally think it’s a good idea to buy your ram at the same time. I’d just spend the extra cash and get 2 8gb sticks, or 2 16’s of the same model at the same time.

    Just got one with an i7 (with 16 gb memory + 1tb HD, which I will upgrade) for $899 on prime day. I say I am happy for with this purchase for a gaming "laptop". I travel a lot and quick 3D graphics for work on the spot when I am needed on location. It works. I would not make this my main machine for 24/7 3D modeling and rendering. But it is good enough to communicate ideas when I am with clients and travel gaming.

    about the problem with red back light, its an RGB keyboard just install Acer Nitrosense and you can change it to any color you like . in fact the keyboard area divided into 4 part , you can change each part color separately . and if you are a hard core gamer but of a younger age you can design it to have some effect like zoom, wave, breath, Neon and.... you also can change the intensity of backlight

    • @TechSpaceCowboy
      @TechSpaceCowboy  2 года назад

    Looks good. I already have a pc that I built back in 2019 (thank god before the pandemic, but even then, the crypto craze still had the prices up) I really just want a laptop for on the go productivity like photoshop and FL studio and some gaming when I’m at friends houses. I plan on connecting to a TV and running external speakers or headphones so I’m literally only using it as a power source lol

    At least run a temperature monitoring program to give people a rough idea on how it runs out of the box.
    I have the Nitro 5, i5 10300H / RTX 3060. Out of the box the CPU was thermal throttling at 93 degrees, laptop manufacturers use very low quality thermal paste, that is if the job is even done correctly. The GPU runs very cool.
    For anyone needing to solve this issue - You can repaste with a high quality thermal compound if you have the know how, or you can adjust the maximum processor state of the CPU.
    Go to Control panel-
    Hardware and Sound-
    Power Options-
    Change plan settings-
    Change advanced power settings-
    Processor power management-
    Change maximum processor state from 100 > 99.
    This will disable turbo boost on the chip. You will now be running at the base clock speed of the CPU. It will solve the throttling issue but now you're limited to your base clock which will cause fps drops in CPU intensive games. There's always a trade off or sacrifice with gaming laptops.
