I adore Angel and i'm glad to see her get back to her folkier roots. This was magic. I loved the porch setting and the nature sounds - it was visceral and it felt like we were sitting there with her.
Angel is one of the best lyricists I've ever seen! Paired with her voice and the simple guitar and her ability to transmit and evoke so much emotion, it's just magical. We have all been blessed!
All Mirrors is my favorite album of hers, but there’s something so authentic about her acoustic work on Whole New Mess that is so endearing. Love her so much
Looks like she's muttering a shopping list to herself. Sounds like a beautifully produced and comped album-quality studio recording. So casually incredible.
" just because you love someone doesn't mean you're in love" . Thank you, Ms. Olsen for so eloquently putting what's so heavy on my heart into music. 🙏🖤
I've listened to her music for 9 years now and I wouldn't be the same person without having heard it. This is yet another gem . Please keep this video posted! Thanks for sharing this show
Healing from a shattered heart... "Now baby, I'm lying Laid out and smiling Look out my window The sun is shining I'm waving, smiling At love forever Alive and dying I'm waving, smiling At love forever Alive and dying" Angel, you always got me in my feels!
Angel's music has helped me through some difficult times and everytime she releases something, be a new record or a new performance is like opening a present from a stranded but dear friend.
Angel olsen is a force of nature. There are very few out there with raw talent and passion like this. She’s truly special and her voice reminds me of being around a campfire in fall at sunset.
everyone knows she can rock, but its always a joy to share Iota with my friends who are getting into her music. its a personal favorite, and it still sounds just as good as it does on the album. can't believe its been 6 years since burn your fire for no witness.
I wish I could compare myself to somebody. I don't see myself reflected out there in the world. I mean, I write what I like, and I get positive feedback, but people seem to go gaga for music that I just don't get. But that could be the ASD. (Sorry...just thinking out loud.)
Picture it. It’s autumn. A cool 52 degrees outside. The sun is just beginning to make her appearance. Rain is lightly tapping on the roof. You just poured a cup of coffee (or tea). You take it over to the sofa where you curl up with a warm blanket for a few minutes before you start your day. And this is what you’re listening to while sipping on your fresh brew. ❤️
What an incredible artist. Both live and in studio. Her brilliance always leaves me floored with admiration. God, we really deserve this talent. What an angel
The Heart Of A Blackbird -- No sweat. Me either. I was just saying that you managed to put a name to some question that was wafting around in my head. Cheers
Ugh I’m crying I just love Angel so much. Listened to Waving, smiling so many times in the past year. Can’t wait to see her on the Wild Hearts Tour ❤️🔥
Her guitar playing makes me think of a deer kid playing 3rubber bands on an old cigar box, two "chords" maybe. And her odd haunting, plaintive, and oh so lovely voice, takes me there. "California" is my absolute favorite. Anything close is just more heaven. Love that guitar. It's a thumb thing.
this performance just tucked me in bed and kissed my forehead and sent me to sleep
miss Olsen providing us with crying material

Finally, something from the goddess herself to brighten the lost ones. the only thing that I cherish in 2020.
Angel's music has helped me through some difficult times and everytime she releases something, be a new record or a new performance is like opening a present from a stranded but dear friend.
There's something sooo magical about this recording. The ambient wind blowing sound with angel's voice. Authentic.

Whenever she sings i feel drawn to simpler times and deeper enjoyment of song. Beautiful performance in a serene place.
Whole New Mess is beautiful in such a wonderfully heartbreaking way, makes me cry but in a good way
Amazing vibes. Idk how she does it, but weird chords sounds magical and her voice is truly unique.
i love how she ends with waving, smiling and how it's written from the perspective of the person she's saying goodbye to

one of the most beautiful voices around. beautiful guitar tone here, too. wow wow wow
Her voice is otherworldly. Superb solo mini set. One of the best I've seen of her.
This version of Iota is just heaven. Pure style and ease.

Every time i hear her Time slows down. Right down. So beautiful.
I love Angel. She’s so singular, I can never find anyone to compare her to, when I tell a new listener.

How we break each other's hearts
And cause each other pain
How we take each other's love
Without thinking anymore
Forgetting to give back
Spot on
I didn't mean this as derogatory...I even write songs that sound like Harrison sometimes. He is not a bad guy to emulate. :)

Ahhh omg I was just watching her Tiny Desk concerts from a couple years ago, and I checked back today to keep watching and there's a new one!!
She makes me able to feel something.
i come here daily for wholenewmess🙌🏼
Her voice is so beautiful. Parts of it remind me of Roy Orbison- mournful, gossamer, plaintive, hopeful. Her choice of chords, too, is so good.
BRO THE SCENERY-
Thanks for the beautiful music!
This is so awesome, reminds me of Half Way Home one of my favorite albums of all time. ♥
She sounds so awesome, thank you Angel and NPR!
