The technology in the cab of that tractor to put a seed in the ground baffles me...and I’m a millennial....it’s awesome!! Thanks so much for showing us!
Being a Millennial doesn't automatically make someone able to know how a technology works. It merely makes you more likely to be able to use it. Using a technology and understanding it are two completely different things. Sure, you probably know how to use a Smart Phone and a computer, but could you build one from scratch? I strongly doubt it.

On monitors on corn planters it will tell us our seed accuracy. If a seed meter picks up one seed at a time thats good. ie singulation. If they pick up 2 kernals then it plans a double which as it grows one of the plants wont develop well and effectively becomes a resource sucking weed. Skips are the meters missing a seed. There is alot that goes into making these things work right.

This an FYI for Ms. Mellenial farmer, just listenign to the latest podcast at work, (on lunch don't worry) and wanted to clarify not all of Canada gets milk in bags. But can confirm Manitoba uses jugs. This has been your Canada facts update brought to you by me.
What an amazing capacity that machine has! It’s inevitable for myself not to think back about my father and late uncle and the pictures of them from the sixties. They’d just finished with the use of horses except for forestry work which they started doing at age 12-13, and then progressing over to the tractors of that age, and the combines which delivered the seed in sacks which they’d picked up and loaded by hand from the field. Since I’ve seen it with a start from that to the present day machinery it’s an amazing development of technology. And my interest in technology have developed from that blood taste in the mouth having to manhandle wheelbarrows from a young age and now when the stuff more or less can be handled with the mobile phone (exaggerated). It’s a joy to watch-thanks Zach And best regards from Sweden 🇸🇪
Hey Zac, the channel big tractor power just posted a video of all you want to know about the 8rx, where they talk about all its features, just incase there was more you don’t know about it
Have to love the Customer service from John Deere it is the key to any successful business . That vlog was full of information and great to watch thank you . Look at those Subscribers 492.000 +
That tractor and the planter row units, from what I can see from the camera in the cab, appear to be riding extremely smooth for 9.4 mph. Being able to run those kinds of speeds with consistent depth and spacing accuracy, is unreal, but it certainly appears to be happening. That’s awesome!
I’ve planted a lot of Test Plots in my day, and that has to be the easiest one I’ve seen done! Kudos to the crew who helped you with that. These new planters make it really easy to clean out, too. Now, fingers crossed it all comes up. Looking forward to the fall results. Keep up the good work. Be safe!
i totally get where you coming from with the fact of crossing a certain speed with the planter. i had a test run last year with my case ih puma and a vaderstad rapid seeder, i usually go around 8mph if conditions are good and i know the field but out of abit curiousity and such i did a few stripes of it going 12-13mph and it felt so wrong for me but there were practically no difference in the growth later the year but ill still continue to keep myself around the old speed cuz it was much more comfortable
There should be a switch in the software to turn off the bulk fill motor, as well as a manual switch somewhere near the fan so you don't have to plug the hoses. Also handy for trouble shooting
Great video! On a side note have you ever considered trying an offset disk for tillage? We use one on our farm and it mixes/buries the residue very well allowing the ground to dry out better along with being able to cover ground faster than other tillage tools.
I've heard several farmers say the they are getting more acres with a narrower planter because of the speed. Sweet setup of John Deere equipment 🚜🚜🚜👍👍👍
Adjust the Droop setting in the transmission page. Lower the percentage to make it respond faster. We’re running a new 8r e23 this year and we love the transmission so far!
Your son handles gophers. When I was about 10 living in Oklahoma late '60s, I had several farmers that would pay me to hunt jackrabbits with my .22 rifle using long hollowpoints. I got a nickel each and the barns were very profitable. Good memories.,
A lot of rubber tracked machines get that harmonic shutter. I notice it on our skid steer in the winter when I push snow and I’m moving from lot to lot. If you run full speed it’s fine but you back off just a little the tracks will shutter.
That's what we had also with the transmission. It kinda jumps into low gear. We have hills and going up it wants to go into high gear. Our John Deere dealership heard other people had issues. I like it and so does my dad and we brought it and another one. I am 6'5" and it's enough room for me. Glad the radio has Bluetooth. Cause I play Pandora Radio all the time and love the speakers. The volume turns the music down when somebody is calling me. I like it has the fridge to keep food cold and Mountain Dew. My wife watched this with me while we was helping a friend plant corn since his tractors broke. She was like does he carry hand sanitizer or a big container of water to wash hands. We do on all tractors and combines. Cause we like the inside of the cabs to be dirt and grease free.
i actually live in a city...farming is AWESOME!! ..i love all the knowledge you share with us THANK YOU!! i cant wait to see the more of your vids...you seem to be getting better with your camera work..and editing..KNOWLEDGEABLE AND ENTERTAINING...funnny too... =)

Just like a dictionary,
"What does Singulation mean?"
Singulation: How singulated the seeds are being placed
*See Singulated*
It's like "safe spacing" for corn seeds
Synonym: social distancing for corn

They’d just finished with the use of horses except for forestry work which they started doing at age 12-13, and then progressing over to the tractors of that age, and the combines which delivered the seed in sacks which they’d picked up and loaded by hand from the field.
Since I’ve seen it with a start from that to the present day machinery it’s an amazing development of technology.
And my interest in technology have developed from that blood taste in the mouth having to manhandle wheelbarrows from a young age and now when the stuff more or less can be handled with the mobile phone (exaggerated).
It’s a joy to watch-thanks Zach
And best regards from Sweden 🇸🇪
Hey Zac, the channel big tractor power just posted a video of all you want to know about the 8rx, where they talk about all its features, just incase there was more you don’t know about it
I'll check that out, thanks!
My grandparents were farmers in Litchfield,MN. love the channel!
And my Uncle and Aunt owned Ugly Toms gas station in Eden Valley
You know a tractor cab is roomy when two men can sit in it and remain 6' apart!!
🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
They were two and a half men for a while, that says even more
Covid proof tractor!
Lol😂
Great video Zach, love the shiny new, steps on both sides, tracks all the way around, odd transmission 410 RX

Have to love the Customer service from John Deere it is the key to any successful business . That vlog was full of information and great to watch thank you . Look at those Subscribers 492.000 +
With the automation, how often do you and Mrs millennial farmer make out in the tractor?
Amazing. Machinery, Technology, Farming, and Farmer. Thanks for sharing the fun!
That's not a tractor Zach, that's the Starship Enterprise on FourTrax.
It was also great to see that the washroom goes where you go! Sweet!
"I like watching singulation" Is that on Netflix???
That tractor and the planter row units, from what I can see from the camera in the cab, appear to be riding extremely smooth for 9.4 mph. Being able to run those kinds of speeds with consistent depth and spacing accuracy, is unreal, but it certainly appears to be happening. That’s awesome!
*Absolutely buries new planter*
MF : ThInGs tHaT mAkE yOu gO, HmMmMm!
*whoosh. He was insinuating that the guy who did his drain-tile work might not be very good at his job.
Be safe!
“She’s an Chevy “
i totally get where you coming from with the fact of crossing a certain speed with the planter. i had a test run last year with my case ih puma and a vaderstad rapid seeder, i usually go around 8mph if conditions are good and i know the field but out of abit curiousity and such i did a few stripes of it going 12-13mph and it felt so wrong for me but there were practically no difference in the growth later the year but ill still continue to keep myself around the old speed cuz it was much more comfortable
There should be a switch in the software to turn off the bulk fill motor, as well as a manual switch somewhere near the fan so you don't have to plug the hoses. Also handy for trouble shooting
My crew and I are installing drain tile over in your area for the next few weeks. Hope I see you around!
I'll be tuning with this, thank you!
Your weather up there is doing what ours does all summer. Right up until it decides to bucket down around 5PM every day.
Your son handles gophers. When I was about 10 living in Oklahoma late '60s, I had several farmers that would pay me to hunt jackrabbits with my .22 rifle using long hollowpoints. I got a nickel each and the barns were very profitable. Good memories.,
We unplug the solenoid on the ccs blower on our deere planter for plots instead of blocking hoses.
A lot of rubber tracked machines get that harmonic shutter. I notice it on our skid steer in the winter when I push snow and I’m moving from lot to lot. If you run full speed it’s fine but you back off just a little the tracks will shutter.
You have an excellent channel full of information. A as a none farmer some of it makes sence and you explain it so well. Good luck with the 500k.
Great vid, Zach. Mrs. Millennial Farmer runs that seed tender around like a pro! Have a safe and productive planting season!!
i actually live in a city...farming is AWESOME!! ..i love all the knowledge you share with us THANK YOU!! i cant wait to see the more of your vids...you seem to be getting better with your camera work..and editing..KNOWLEDGEABLE AND ENTERTAINING...funnny too... =)
Nice ride there Zach. That tractor has all the comforts of home for sure. I can't believe you can go that fast down a field with that thing planting wow.
How interesting halfway through the video I get a Dakota macro ad with Zach great ad!
For keeping your windows free of dust buy a Swifter and refills and if you like the job it pertains to you then buy one for each of the equipment.
