    I really like Hades II Artemis' art because i can actually understand how her hair works

      I prefer the original portrait, it makes her look more "wild", like a huntress stalking her prey. The Hades 2 one gives off cool big sis or quirky best friend vibes, which I guess is more lore accurate for the sequel. I get what they were going for and they did a great job conveying it, but I just personally like the first one more.

      Bro I thought I was the only one, to this day I look at Artemis' design in Hades and still can't figure it out, seeing her new design now really brought a level of relief I've never felt lmaooo

    33:31 ~~~haelian is 100% correct here, if you go and fire 3 shells with aspect of mel in such a way that the first shell is still flying while the third shell is fired, all three will hit for the increased power. In fact im fairly sure hael himself demonstrated this in one of his first videos on the mel aspect of the skull. Full salvo *should* be a good hammer for mel skull, and it not being one should be a bug.~~~
    Edit: here, it was working without the shells being on the ground specifically before:

    Edit 2: the video linked above is patch 1, and it seems in the ensuing patches they did actually make it so that the damage is calculated at the time of launch instead of time of impact, which means that full salvo will not work with the aspect.

      I'm pretty sure the 3 shells hitting for the same increased power is the "bug." I read the intention of the aspect as damage being set at time of firing, but the bug is that the global skull base damage is modified every time you fire.
      If you dropped all shells, picked up one, fired, then picked up the rest before the one hit, it would hit for +20 power rather than +40 or +80 if this is the case

      ​@@msadventurecomedyI'm guessing the way they implemented the code is just counting the number of skulls not in the hand when the skull hits the enemy. Since that number is already calculated and showed in the bottom left corner. I think the way you are describing feels closer to the text interpretation but probably a little harder to implement as the code needs to track and count the state of each skull.

      @@shuqingchen7543 No, description is vague. What description really is. "Increase attackpower by +20 for every skull not in your possession". Basically, It checks whether 1/3, 2/3, 3/3 number below and than assigns power increase. Full salvo makes you spend everything and retrieve everything at once. it is terrible hammer for Melinoe. In general Aspect of medea is superior in every way to Aspect of Melinoe
      I would change first aspect to the following effect:
      -Allows you to retrieve shells automatically
      -Omega attack damage increased by 120%.
      Adjust Removed hammer that retrieves skulls and has -1 inventory
      This makes skulls more balanced in approach. If you want build omega attack, skull 1. For normal attack, pick skull 2. for Special and Omega attack evenly, Pick skull 3.
      Right now aspect of medea just does all 3 play-styles better. Spamming omega is works just as well with skull 1 as skull 2. Hyprid works just as well on skull 3 as skull 2 and Skull 2 has best primary attack.

      @@dodang_9147 Yea so my interpretation for "not in my possession" when I used the aspect is not counting the skulls that were fired but not landed. But I can see why people also count those. And it seems like the devs maybe changed the code but should reflect it in the wording

      I wish more people read your comment, many are saying things on the lines of "but the shells have to be on the ground/hit the enemy" for the aspect effect, when clearly neither of those matter without the hammer
      I'm wondering if there's an explanation as to why this combo shouldn't work but I can't think of anything other than: bug

    The thing with full salvo is when the shot is initially fired, you have 5/5 shells which doesn’t add the bonus. So I’m pretty sure the bonus added to the shell is based on how many shells you’re missing when you fire the shells. When you have 4/5 shells, only 20 power is added to each shell for full salvo because you’re only missing one shell. Notice when you try it on skelly, when you have 1/3 shells, and you fire that shell, it doesn’t add 60 power to that shells but just 40. That’s because you’re missing 2 shells at the moment of firing but not 3.

      The damage is calculated by how many shells you have when the enemy takes damage, so you can spam all of them and get the full damage on every hit (at least that's how it was before the most recent patch).

    On the subject of hades 1 vs 2 art, I'm undecided on Demeter because I feel like Demeter gives more grandmother vibes with her appearance in hades 1 but I understand that that attire is not appropriate for the war setting in hades 2. Still one of my fav designs tho, love Demeter ❤

    12:10 that thing with elementary particles is correct, I have done it exactly once, it certainly helps that hestia is both a prerequisite for elementary particles and the god that offers burnt offering, but it is still a hell of a rare thing to happen, good thing about it is that if you only manage half of the setup you're still just left with having elementary particles, which is still good.

      Honestly I think it’s fine. It’s going to be a rare thing to be able to pull off.
      You will need a good amount of luck. Plus you will need some chaos buffs to even use a few of the infusions anyway.
      Honestly as long as they don’t put purging wells back into the game it should be fine.
      Worst case they just make it so that the duo can’t be purged and or selected by Burnt Offerings.

    I think the reason Artemis's portrait is in discussion so much is entirely because of the change to shading sensibilities, even if people complaining aren't able to articulate that. in Hades 1 all characters were rendered very consistently with large swaths of deep black shadows, similar to the look of Hellboy, but in Hades 2 they started rendering the Olympians with more restrained shadow usage and saved the enormous black shadows for use on Cthonic gods like Mel and Hecate. for Artemis in particular this has the unfortunate consequence of visually flattening her, all of her black shadows are placed onto her racoon hood thing which just causes it to kinda vanish into the background, and her entire actual body gets uniform medium tone shading with only a couple highlights on her face and down one side with the majority of her body being cast in shadow. the decision to quarantine all of her rich black shadows to one minor visual element and then still cast her entire body in shadow without using that black to create multiple shadow tones makes her almost appear unshaded, if everything has the same medium shadow applied to it then in effect nothing had that shadow. I truly believe that if they left the current art for her completely alone except for adding some additional deep black shadows around her face, lower body, and the chest / arm area opposite her highlight, 99% of people's complaints about her art would be solved

    I'm pretty sure the description is accurate, I think that shots are calculated damage at the moment fired and don't recalculate damage while they are flying to target. So when you fire the omega, the dmg calculates as 0 shots able to be retrieved. The shots must be fixed damage when fired.

      I really though the calculation was when they hit, because I had the impression that resting on Skelly I saw the same boosted damage for each shell when I tried firing fast from a distance

      @@arthurfreitasschmitt9477 I think the regular attack works as the description suggests, which is that skulls that are airborne do increase the damage
      I think the problem is with the omega attack, which might technically not have a travel time considering how it works when it's not hammered

    The bonus power is determined at firing time. The first skull has +0 power because 0 skulls have been spent at time of firing (compare against other skull aspects). When you shoot a full salvo, 0 shells are spent, so the bonus is 0. The damage is set when you press attack based on the ammo you have missing, and it affects every skull in the game, even if it's already been fired.
    It might be bonkers with Apollo legendary depending on if that recalculates missing ammo. The hammer that triggers Omega on pickup might also be good to test with this aspect

    I did the cluster bomb build (obviously very lucky with the hammers) and had it with Apollo's Legendary. It was quite the blessed run

      aphrodites attack, poseidon's sprint breaker, weed killer from demeter and appolo legendary is dream combo for omega attack run but this combination is so hard to roll that it is impractical.
      i think skull dps is really bad. it really doesn't kill bosses without possen skull. the weapon is great for wave clear but it needs more damage for bosses. an idea could be that center skull hits for 2x damage but outer ring hits for normal damage.

    I think it only does the check if there's unretrieved shells at the moment you fire and not when they explode, so when they simultaneously fire there's no buff. I think the way you think it should work would be more fun, but it kind of makes sense as is, too.

    Pretty sure the damage is calculated based how many sheels aren't in your hand when you press fire (not when they hit).
    Honestly that's how I'd expect it to work, the description might not be "technically" accurate but you have to be reaching a little to expect full salvo to work with the aspect that way

    I think with Full Salvo you won't receive the damage bonus from the aspect because you can't physically retrieve each shell until they've hit the ground, therefore not fulfilling the requirement for the damage bonus (but this is just my guess, maybe it really is unintended behaviour)

      @@spacefruit9598 I was thinking it would work because if I'm not mistaken, the base aspect does take into account shells that are still in the air, before even hitting the enemy. If you fire fast enough, I remember seeing them all hit for a boosted total, unless that was patched

    I think it counts shells lying on the ground, so if you hit sth earlier and some skulls are already waiting for pickup, when others hit the other will do more dmg

    With Full Salvo, I think they must be determining it based on how many shells are out AT THE TIME OF FIRING, not at the time of impact with an enemy.
    If you have all five skulls, there are no skulls un-retrieved at the time of firing, so there would be no bonus damage

    Even though the Mel Aspect doesn't trigger with Full Salvo, I still think that is more DPS. Because can shoot multiple full salvos in the time you take to charge and pick up all the shells-

    I think my issue with Hades 2's renders of the Olympians is that they feel less dynamic than in Hades 1. I kinda get the idea that they're not as relaxed as they were in the first game due to the war, but I feel like they could still be more dynamic in their posing while still looking ready to throw hands.
    Also, I feel like Aphrodite's render in the first game did a better job at obscuring the fact she's unclothed due to the posing sort of guiding the eyes to her face, while it's painfully obvious she's not wearing anything in her Hades 2 render.
    Additionally, I believe another user pointed out how the Olympians have a lot less dark shadows in their renders in the second game compared to the first.

    about the skull dmg debate at the end... what u said was true but theres no skull left the give the bonus dmg... so the skull had to be fired, gotta be on the floor and u need to have a skull left so the bonus dmg can be added to

    I think too many people are inferring things about the descriptions. Boons and hammers have very very specific wordings, and they all do exactly what's written. For full salvo, every rocket is fired simultaneously, meaning there are no unretrieved shells. Therefore, the aspect wouldn't buff it. There's nothing else to it. I think too many people are thinking it *should* do something else that isn't written, and are super quick to call it a bug when it doesn't. People just need to read closer and stop assuming things about them.

      The damage is not locked in when you fire the shells. If you fire all 3 quickly in sequence, each will hit for the max damage of the aspect. This implies that it should work favorably with full salvo.

      ​@@ThePenguin1776yeah this is the crux of it...does the damage the shell WILL inflict get calculated at the time it is fired or at the time of impact? If the former, the description is accurate. If the latter, it is not. Either way, this just further demonstrates the confusion.

      From watching the run and with what Penguin says, it looks like the global skull damage is set every time you press the attack button while you still have ammo. When previous shots are still in flight and you shoot another round, they get the same damage as the shot you just fired.
      It's like the shell leaving Mel sets skull_base_damage += 20, and then every skull collision with an enemy does skull_base_damage + mods

      @@yadamspiezer no aspect is working properly. Salvo fires everything in 1 shot. there is no delay between each shot and 0 skulls are on the floor. It works as literal written. The aspect just sucks.

    I don't understand the omega attack with this aspect. In the time it takes to charge you could hit 3 times with the regular attack, which doesn't do that much less damage.

    I guess it's technically inaccurate, but I would never read that description and think full salvo would activate it, that would be a surprise to me for sure, I'm not sure how else they could write it to explicitly exclude full salvo.

    The rocket hammer is a trap. With normal omega attack, you have no worry about obstacle and can easily land it right in the middle of a hoard.
    With the hammer, it can be blocked easily so you have to find a sweat angle to shoot.
    And tbh, it is lazy af hammer

      i find omega attack really weak in term of boss killing. this hammer makes it so much better for boss killer that the clear barely matters.

    I don't want artemis to look the same as hades 1, but I do agree that the artwork in hades 2 is the only god that I found looked a bit disappointing.

      funny thing is, you can still see Artemis private part if you look at it closely. I think they just made it less discrete for audience viewing compare hade 1. Weird complaint. I rather not pay attention to that stuff during runs.
