When Staropolli, Turilli, Lione and Alex Holzwarth where together, the band was at the best level possible.
Luca Turillli at the guitar was genius.
mucha gente se pierde de Rhapsody y todos sus discos geniales, porque prefieren lo simple y chato. me siento orgulloso de que seamos pocos que disfrutan la música de verdad. Es como ultra conservador lo que digo y es perjudicial para una banda que vive de eso, pero te juro, estos tipos invirtieron toda su vida en hacer discos totalmente costosos de hacer por orgullo propio. tuve la oportunidad de verlos dos veces en vivo, y es una genialidad. Luca Turilli es un genio moderno, pero Fabio Lione, te juro nunca escuche una voz tan completa en vivo y en discos, un talento increíble. Cuando era adolescente me leía libros enteros con la música de Rhapsody, cuando jugaba a juegos de pc como el Age of Wonders, me pasaba horas escuchándolos, una banda que mas que hacer canciones hacen obras completas. te felicito por reaccionar a esta pedazo de banda aunque no te de muchas visitas o muchos likes, me suscribo por el buen gusto y porque solo un músico puede reaccionar como lo haces vos.
I've always loved Rhapsody so I enjoyed these reactions. Like you I have asked myself how come Rhapsody is so underrated an relatively unappreciated. I was thinking that it may be due to the length of many songs and the sheer complexity of the music being overwhelming. That and the wealth of classical inspration. But if that is why then Nightwish should also not be so popular. So I am at a loss, unless it is due to the fantasy theme and italian accent of the vocals? Nevertheless, appreciate you doing this!

You're doing a HUGE service for us lost, few and far between fans who have enjoyed this band alone for years and years. It's literally magic happening.
My father only buy me a CD , it was this POWER OF DRAGON FLAME, its a treasure because my dad literally said: You ask for Rhapsody Dawn of Victory but they only had this, hope its fine .... he did not know the lucky son he made me so happy and its something i always remember and make me feel so lucky.
this song make me feel alive so many times in so many ways, ty and thanks to this amazing band !
Nice story, thanks for sharing! Though, I particularly like Dawn of Victory better, but Power of the Dragon Flame it's another powerful classic album from Rhapsody and it's among the best they ever released!

This song is a masterpiece! I've been hooked by this band since their Symphonies of Enchanted Land album back in 1997! Still listening to them often these days! 😊

Also even more happy to see at the end you agree it sounds like Hell. Honestly this band is far from the heaviest or edgiest, but that piece of sound at the end is so haunting, eerie and creepy, honestly gives me more creeps than any ambience in any other music.
For Nick and other new Rhapsody fans, this album is the one of the classic records that is relatively easy to find new at a normal price. The Power of the Dragonflame.

React next to Rhapsody of fire The ancient fires of har-kuun
It was 1999. They had already released 2 albums. i was 13 years old and i could tell that these guys where professional musicians. The musicality and the complexity of their song writing was on another level.
My friends who listened hard rock and metal back then, didnt like them because
1. they where too classical for their taste (i love classical music, they dont)
2. They laughed at the lyrics because fantasy stories with dragons and wizzards sounded hilarious to them. (Lord of the Rings wasnt out yet)
When they released their first album everyone said that they couldnt play their own music live. They said that the instruments and singers voice was all done artificially from a computer. So much hate from metal fans...lol
It is just a shame that this band never had the attention they deserved. They deserved a bigger audience. They deserved a live album with an orchestra...etc
I really appreciated your talk half way through. I AGREE 10000% DUDE. Wtf is wrong with us as a species when mainstream artists today are 100x more popular than beautiful, genius music like this.
Loved your reaction. I discovered the band three years ago and it was love at first sight. Your words just hit hard, since I discovered the band I only meet a few people who feel the same. Sadly even if the music is of high quiality poeple are not gonna listen it, and I think is has to do a lot with your conception on music and the kind of music people like. Good music dosen't mean popularity and I think that is really clear when you see what kind of music is popular now (not saying that everything is bad tho).
Still thank you for reacting to this masterpice, hope you can react to "The Wizard's Last Rhymes" from the previous album of this one, I think even among the Rhapsody fanbase is a song that deserves more love.

You must listen to dark tower of abyss, you won't regreat
There could be a couple reasons why people might not like it. Some people do have aversions to metal, and some have aversions to anything Classical, but I've also heard comments calling the whole thing cheesy and pretentious. A lot of people also aren't into fantasy. I remember hearing Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who played Jaime in Game of Thrones told everyone he got a show on HBO and they were excited for him, but that diminished a bit when he told them it was a fantasy show.
I actually came across Rhapsody when I was looking for prog metal bands, and I remembered a friend of mine talking about them, specifically the keyboard solo from Holy Thunderforce.
Edit: I'm not sure if anyone told you, but I just want to point out that that choir that comes in right at the end, that's also how the album starts, so it loops back around.

Why people don't listen more to this band? i'll tell you, and this is not hate to the ones who don't listen this kind of music. In order for bands and their music get audience, people has to relate to the music, and with bands like Rhapsody it's not happening becouse people relates to mediocre music, Rhapsody aims for greatness, majestic and noble themes, and only people with those aspirations will relate to them.
It really is a shame, to me, Luca Turilli is the greatest composer and musician of this generation, so much talent and greatness in this man is unparallel. And of course, the other members of the band are top of their game, the vocals of Fabio, the drums of Alex, the bass of Patrice, the guitar of Dominique (not credited as a band member, but he played the second guitar in the live shows, now a formal member of Luca's band), and the keyboard of Alex made Rhapsody the greatest band of all, but that makes difficult to relate for the common people.
