Gargoyles, Angel of Darkness is the final song and the conclusion of The Emerald Sword Saga which started with Rhapsody's first album Legendary Tales (1997) and continued on Symphony of Enchanted Lands (1998), Dawn of Victory (2000), Rain of Thousand Flames (2001), and Power of the Dragonflame (2002). Yes, The Emerald Sword Saga is over 5 albums. In order to understand the conclusion of the story and the story as a whole you need to listen to all the first five albums with lyrics. The lyrics tell you the story. It is like a musical audio drama.
The Emerald Sword Saga end on Power of the Dragonflame with this epic song. The following five albums Symphony of Enchanted Lands II (2004), Triumph or Agony (2006), The Frozen Tears of Angels (2010), Cold Embrace of Fear-A Dark Romantic Symphony (2010), and From Chaos to Eternity (2011) tell the story of the next saga The Dark Secret Saga which is the sequel of The Emerald Sword Saga. The Dark Secret Saga begins with Symphony of Enchanted Lands II (2004) and end with the album From Chaos to Eternity. This saga end like The Emerald Sword Saga with a 19 minute epic song called Heroes of the Waterfall's Kingdom. This 19 minute conclusion of The Dark Secret Saga is as epic as Gargoyles, Angels of Darkness.
The entire Dargor Fantasy saga, however, end with the album Dark Wings of Steel (2013). Luca Turilli already left the band but his saga still continues with this album and comes to an end.
Luca Turilli, the author, of the entire fantasy saga with all its sequels which spans over 11 albums, leaves the band Rhapsody of Fire in order to create his new band Luca Turilli's Rhapsody while Rhapsody of Fire continued as Rhapsody of Fire and released the albums Into the Legend (2016).
Luca Turilli's Rhapsody or LT Rhapsody released two excellent albums Ascending to Infinity (2012) and Prometheus (2015).
Fabio Leone, the vocalist, leaves Rhapsody of Fire after this record in order to join the band Angra. Rhapsody of Fire continued with a new vocalist and recorded a new album The Eighth Mountain (2019).
In 2018, Luca Turilli and Fabio Leone, the vocalist, decided to join and from a new band which they named
Turilli/Lione Rhapsody and released the album Zero Gravity (Rebirth and Evolution) [2019].
The music is all the same style just different band names.

And Rhapsody is these days called Rhapsody Of Fire, the guitarist on this song is Luca Turilli, you might have heard of him.
And their 5 first albums tell a story (written by Turilli) called The Emerald Sword Saga. And the next 5 albums tell another story The Dark Secret (also written by Turilli), then Turilli left the band and the next 2 albums have not told any story as far as i know, still good albums though.

Great! One of my favourites Rhapsody's song together with The Mystic Prophecy of the Demon Knight (this one is even longer :D ).
You've listened to Rhapsody before - Dawn of Victory :) Rhapsody and Rhapsody of Fire is the same band, but Rhapsody is their former name.

That was pretty much my reaction when I first heard this band back in 2003, as a guitar player I was (and still) into dimebag's amazing composition and technical skills but after listening to this album I decided to start practicing even more to be able to play like this other genius "Luca Turilli" who was the mastermind behind Rhapsody, the very first cover I upload was a guitar solo from this album actually, and Gargoyles Angels of Darkness is simply a masterpiece, feel free to check out my take on this song, cheers!

Rhapsody have songs recorded in a bunch of languages... english, german, french, italian, latin and probably others.
They're not one band anymore, the mastermind of these songs made his own version of rhapsody called "Luca Turilli's Rhapsody" and I really recommend you check that out. The production value is even greater, the singer is absolutely incredible, just to me it's even better.
If I would suggest songs, I'd say "Tormento E Passione", "Ascending to Infinity", "Of Michael the Archangel and Lucifer's Fall" and "Il Cigno Nero"

Rhapsody started their career as Thundercross and released on Demo called Eternal Glory. Luca Turilli also had his own band Luca Turilli which is more traditional power metal with some symphonic elements.

Came here immediately after your Ghost Love Score reaction after your mentioned that you did this song. I knew you'd love it. Rhapsody was one of the greatest Symphonic Power Metal bands in existence. After Luca Turilli left to make LT's Rhapsody , Rhapsody of Fire kinda went downhill. But their works together as Rhapsody/ Rhapsody of Fire were and will always be some of the most incredible masterpieces ever written. If you haven't heard it yet, check out Eternal Glory off of Symphony of Enchanted Lands . Its one of my absolute favorites.

Rhapsody - or, not sure, former(?) Rhapsody of Fire - comes from Italy, so I guess the lyrics were partly in Italian. I haven't spent much time with this band, yet...

The new álbum sounds good, much better than other bands, but not as good as the best Rhapsody was.
