The lead vocal on this is by Miku, who normally provides backing and harmony vocals for the full band. She has a beautiful voice in her own right.
Yes, the vocalist is indeed the One and Only Miku Kobato (kobato means pigeon in Japanese, and Miku claims to be an 810 year old pigeon). She founded Band-Maid and that Alone is enough to make her my personal hero. But she didn't stop there - she writes the lyrics for the band, and has become a wonderful rhythm guitarist and secondary vocalist. She's also a dynamo (times 100) when it comes to getting the crowd fired up or anything related to...well... anything. She is truly an awesome individual.

It just makes me so happy to see Miku taking the lead in both vocals and guitar and totally NAILING IT!
Also, it's so cool hearing Akane's beautiful backing vocals while she's trying so hard not to crush her kit. 🤘🤩🤘

They had a reading of Romeo and Juliet before the concert (which the lyrics are based of off), and our beautiful and sensitive Kanami was so inconsolable by the story that Saiki stayed back to comfort her and these three rock stars handled it the way Band-Maid does it.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 I am a newbie fan of B-M. This beautiful song surprised me when I found the meaningful and suggestive lyrics had been inspired by Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. That is why Sayonakidori = Nightingale. Miku's is a truly talented artist, and an excellent producer as well.

I can't decide which one of the five ladies I adore the most. It's an impossible task. The acoustic cd is a piece of art.
I found a quote from Miku in an interview. She has completely wormed her way into my heart. The interviewer asked who she admired and aspired to be like. She said "For me, there is no "I want to become someone like this person"-po. Kobato wants to remain as "Kobato Miku" to the end. To treasure what makes me who I am, and to become someone whom no other person can imitate or replicate. I want to become such a unique existence, and if this can connect to making BAND-MAID a unique band like no other, then I would be very happy-po." Mission Accomplished, Miku!

Welcome to the Christmas acoustic concert of Band Maid, the most versatile ladies on the current scene. They played fourteen arrangements from their discography in different combinations, this one with a song written for Miku from their latest LP Unseen World. They certainly showed that they are capable of playing anything they want. If you want to get out to a slightly departure of their more rocker style you can try their song About us. As impressive as this version is on it's own, you will be even more impressed after you listen to the original version. During this concert, you will be blown away by some of the songs they decided to do acoustic versions of...
Yeah I would never in a million years thought I would hear an acoustic of HGK!
You have done 10 reactions of Band Maid and have barely scratched the surface. For me Band Miad has 3 phases: 1 - the early "Thrill" days, 2 Starts when they release "Alone" and start recording music that they write, 3 is when they released "Different", or could even be from the last song on the previous release "Rinne". This may coincide with the knowledge that they are getting ready to change labels to Pony Canyon and a decision that they are going to do exactly what they want. Back Hole and Manners are from that phase. For others in that time frame, I would suggest "Diiferent" MV, "Warning" MV, "No God" Live or "Afterlife" MV or . You can't pick a loser from any of their work to be honest.
Miku has a almost delicate, musical voice, absolutely beautiful.
Her voice is a huge part of what sets Band Maid apart in that dept, her harmonies with Saiki are as good as trademarked. Without her it would never sound the same.
You should check out the album version just to hear how different and yet the same they are!
No matter what kind of concert Band-Maid puts on, you'll appreciate their writing, execution and special "Maid Sound" that is unique to this incredible group of Women. In fact, Band-Maid's music is so distinctive, I think there should be an entirely new subgenre of rock called, "Maid Rock!" Thx, Ross!

My Friend, thank you for your reaction. Miku, rith guitar and founder, is singing here being supported by Akane ( drums ) on vocals and the monster playing the bass and called Misa. They are absolutely marvellous in every aspect. Keep going. Nothing yet...and the name of the song is Nightingale in English. Here you have a verse: 'My bounty is as boundless as the sea, My love as deep; the more I give to thee, The more I have, for both are infinite.' Miku is the founder of the band, the backing vocals, the rythim guitar, the crazy speaker and the lyricist who is mixing or 'cooking' her poems with the music of the best rock in the world to feed our souls. We eat 'miracles' every day. Thanks again.

Glad to see your reaction to this- It reminds me of when I first discovered the band in 2018. This is the genius that is Miku- Working in a Maid Cafe in Tokyo in March 2013, decides she wants to form a rock band with her Maid costumes. Completed the 5 piece line up by August 2013. She is the Main lyricist, Singer/Guitarist (only taught to play the guitar by Kanami (lead guitar) after the band was formed), Recently has a solo side project as Cluppo (elctro/pop/rock) with one EP so far but already written a theme for an anime. She is the rock behind this band and I love her to bits for it. Supported here by the best rhythm section in music, not just rock, right now.
Band-Maid is usually pretty good about not striking reactions to their official video releases (ie anything on their official RUclips channel). The band is keenly aware how important the reaction community and social media in general is to their success. Indeed, this band would literally not exist today without social media. They were on the verge of disbanding - to the point where management called Miku and Saiki in to the office and told them Band-Maid was done. (And they were going to be moved to a different project, called Dance-Maid?) The only reason their management reversed course is that the video for "Thrill" went viral shortly after. It went viral because of a British DJ promoting the band on his Facebook page.

Miku who is singing,writes most of the lyrics for the band. She also is the originator of the band and spokesperson and frankly has a little stand up section in all the shows that gets the crowd going before doing a few lead vocals. herself. You are right about the talent. Everyone of them could do anything they like musically.

They are so versatile and always sound great. If they decided to do bluegrass music, it would probably be awesome.
It seems like there's norhing they can't do, musically and whatever it is, they just make me smile. I don't know any other bands ever, do that to me.
This is only one song from their acoustic online concert which was in the beginning of this year. There was another song from this concert on their official RUclips channel but now I can't find it.

Yeah, Catharsis was up for a while, but they removed it recently. They only intended to have it up for a limited time.

Miku was a Jpop singer in her own right -- very good voice, but not hard rock. She does great harmonies with Saiki. Because she sacked herself as lead vocalist and hired Saiki, she took up learning the guitar ... and here she is, the guitarist in a concert with an international audience. She has come a long way from holding the guitar as a prop (see "Thrill"). Our Miku -- we are proud of her (she complained that Akane was giving her "proud parent" looks).
You should do a double feature: Puzzle Live (hard rock) and Puzzle Acoustic (emotional and stripped back with just Saiki and Kanami (on acoustic guitar AND doing backup vocals to Saiki). Finding the videos will be interesting. I know where they are but you have to go looking.
Puzzle is prob my fav BM song. I always love it when a reactor does both the regular and the acoustic.

Great reaction. This entire 2021 Xmas Acoustic concert was exceptional. 14 songs in total and very creative in how they arranged the songs and performed it with the various combinations of the band members. Simply mind blowing in how they were able to re-arrange songs that I would never have imagined could be performed acoustically.

Goes to prove this little pigeon can sing as sweet as any Nightingale. This acoustic concert was a Christmas present to their fans. Best Christmas Day I have ever had. This concert was so good I was in tears. Plus the bonus commentary by the members was hilarious!

I don't know if they will release any other videos from the Christmas online acoustic, but the next EP, titled 'Unleash" is due out on September 21st, 2022.
That's just a couple of weeks before their US tour kicks off at Aftershock festival, followed by 13 headlining shows.

This is their acoustic Christmas 2021 online show, it was so special. This song featured only these three members. I love to see the drummer Akane singing harmonies, I've seen Kanami "lead guitar" sing harmonies with lead singer Siaki on a couple songs but it's a treat to see Akane sing harmonies for Miku. If you haven't seen it, you missed a real treat with their acoustic version of "Catharsis", all five members were in that one... But I noticed they have taken down the Link to that one. Such a shame...
