I should've known based on his job as an antiquarian that he knew a LOT about the land of Ooo
Imma be real though I didn't think he knew every damn weird item Finn and Jake encountered throughout the series lol.
Like god damn, he should really talk to them about the specifics cus I feel like he'd love to go find all of them lmao
Sub 2 the second channel btw: ruclips.net/channel/UCEG_QK5tOBsqyhBdIgv63Ug
Did Finn and Jake encounter the Wand of Dispersement?
whats the point finding them without Betty?!
@@nmotschidontwannagivemyrea8932 no but they were close by when it was used
Isn’t antiquarian an insult? Like, someone who hoards artifacts and documents for the sake of having them? The English writer Alexander Pope used the word to describe one of his rivals, Thomas Hearne, according to the CGP Grey video on the Brittany-Tiffany poem
@fundachi183 Sounds legit. Maybe antiquarian is just the closest term for it. It’s not archeology or paleontology, because Simon doesn’t do dig sites or dinosaurs. Just general artifact finding and adventuring. Kinda neat that he managed to hypothesize the existence of things that AT would show, like the armor of Zeldron or the Martian wand
Poor Simon. Even before he became the Ice King he got no respect. If only those students knew.
wait thoes are students i thought they were teachers that guy who threw the book is so failing enjoy the six figure debt for nothing ass hole
well... they are dead so happy ending right? heheehe
Those who left lore behind in archeology might be true cause after all there is some truth to legends and tales
If it’s any consolation, all those students died horrible deaths do to the great mushroom war. Meanwhile Simons quest for these types of artifacts lead him to survive and live for over a thousand years.
@@wilderac2250 I wouldn't bet on it cause if there's one thing I learned from adventure time some people manage to survive in strange ways
Finn proved them all wrong. Simon would be proud
Absolutely 100% amigo. This man should be respected and people instead give him bull crap. I honestly feel sorry nobody listened to this wise person.
But finn got all 4 items mentioned, destroyed
@@bobherobrine3415
He kept the armor
@@bobherobrine3415The armor and the wand aren't destroyed. Also, they have the Farmworld Enchiridion.
I like to think that, during the time between the original finale and the start of F&C, Simon had Finn and Jake as his main sources of information on the ancient artifacts of Ooo when he was writing his book that he showed the exhibit visitors in episode 2.
I am currently no archeologist, but I still feel Simon's pain here, *immensely.*
We all do.
Simon past is meant to be a reminder how we try to prove something or set something up are own despite what people say as it like the saying your a outcast to one thing but somewhere else you might be the hero people might need even know they can't see it yet
Make sure no one approaches you with an Obsidian Knife
@@Mr.Brothybear That's geologists.
currently
I don't know what's sadder for Simon:
*The fact that the Enchiridion and the lamb were broken to pieces
*The fact that the wand wasn't even in the Earth
*The fact that the armor that he spend so much time searching is probably now somewhere in Finn's basement like if it was an old toy
For The Enchiridion, Finn still has the 2nd book from the elementals miniseries -- first book is cooked, but the 2nd one is still around.
I don't know if he even has the time to think about these things because he has so much more problems to think about
Enchiridion of this dimension, there’s still the farmworld one and presumably countless others,
@@cdagaming575simon has the farmworld enchiridion now, you can see it in the golb summoning room
The armor is probably under the new tree,
I wonder how he must’ve reacted when Finn just offhandedly told him about how he found all of these
And all on one fricking island that's smaller than Rhode Island.
The island is only somewhat smaller than the entire United States, it's not small.
bro probably had a mental breakdown that some kid found these things with more luck than he ever did
To be fair as Ice King, he created a portal that sends to the porcelain lamb.
Probably both proud and empty at the same time. Proud for being validated, empty cause...now what?
To be fair, those objects were very well hidden, never would’ve thought to check Mars.
technically, other than the Enchiredion, they were all dimensionally displaced, would have had to been a quantum physics genius
The wand could have been kept hidden in high society, that migrated to Mars following the Mushroom Wars since Mars was settled by humans from Earth.
maybe thats why current billionaires are so hung up on mars
I really like how this implies a big portion of fantasy stuff in the show didn't just start existing when the bombs dropped. A lot of magic artifacts and beings thought of as myths just resurfaced or were rediscovered in a world more fitting for them.
I mean wasn't that already implied with Evergreen creating the crown with gems from the Maywood a lava creature in the time of the dinosaur, Magic in adventure time has periods of weak magic or strong, Evergreen in his time period had more magic than Patience St. Pim did in her era
@@kongthornton780 Well I originally thought it was just the crown (maybe Darren and War Elephant too) along with some medieval stuff that had no connection to the present day events. This makes me wonder just how much stuff we see in Ooo is far older than just a thousand years. Like Gnomes or even Lub Glubs.
@@Dalton_Boardman2000Vampires and martians are older than humans
Honestly Simon is more of an adventurer than he gave himself credit for, he might not like the action but if he stepped out of his bubble and went treasure hunting like he used to he’d have probably enjoyed his new life a lot more.
True but then again he was a lot younger now he is 59 depressed and doesn't exercise while finn who is 29 has a lot more energy and strength than him and can still do quest im guessing when finn will be 59 he will still be full of energy and stregth because he will keep doing these quests wich will keep him young
He could bring Finn along as a bodyguard
@@eeveeofalltrades4780 he could i see two ending for Simon the first one he grt ice power without becoming corrupt moves on from thr past and he accept ooo as his home and goes to adventure with finn second ending he goes to another universe and stay with that version betty third option he dies
Who knew all these things Simon would've found would be discovered by Finn and Jake 1000 years later. Time really does strange things.
It would be like a Roman citizen who came up with something and then centuries later, more advanced humans would discover their technological advancements.
The show creators knew. That's why it's a call back and not foreshadowing... that's how writing works dude
The fact that relics scattered around Ooo were actual legends 1000 years ago in human society is amazing. It gives the world such a definitive feeling of being real and alive. Also... does that mean 1000 years ago, people told legends about things like the Time Room? Or the elementals? Or the Nightosphere?
For the time room or elementals would be unlikely, or only few people would know.
For the Nightosphere on the other hand I am sure that, in the AT universe, what inspired Hell.
Hunson Abadeer was probably alive and kicking in this period of time
@@se.224 Apparently Hudson was around when it was just monsters
@@hankhill4083 man's is older than time
@@an0rmalp3rson70 And still has style
At least Finn respects Simon. He’s not completely alone.
I wonder how Simon would feel knowing that Finn and Jake stumbled upon all those objects by chance while he had to make fun of everyone.
Well it could be surprising to him if he found that out.
The Enchiridion one is probably the least surprising since we can briefly see a page of a newspaper that he discovered the Enchiridion while he was still Simon before he discovered the Crown in one episode in the original Adventure Time series.
But also, Simon knowing about a lot of these isn't all that surprising when you remember that he was a professor of archaeology.
Well he eventually find the enchiridion with Betty later in this episode and even do the same pose and photo like in the newspaper.
Poor Simon....
At least his fascination with magical objects was not a lie as he said in the recording.
Just a reminder that all of Simon's "students" were officially dead during The Mushroom Wars...
Good....
Every time I feel like Fionna and Cake can't get any better, it tops itself. Episodes 7 & 8 were the two best episodes of the show so far. Between giving us an awesome vampire universe with an evil and legitimately terrifying Marceline as the villain in episode 7 to giving us Simon and Betty's sweet backstory in episode 8, this show continues to blast grand slams out of the park. I just hope the final two episodes can live up to what came before it.
the next episode from what I heard is the one that made tom kenny bawl the hardest out of all his work so I'm afraid of what's to come...
@@bobbydazzler2960 I'm so excited but so scared at the same time. I'm ready to be emotionally devastated.
I’m currently at episode 5.
Dude I got done with episodes seven and eight. Both of them got me thinking, without Simon, Marcy became a vampire machine.
As for Fiona, she has grown more realistic after discovering what the ice king really was. Cake is just too stupid to realize what’s going on.
@@Mrcharles.I hated hated in those two episodes
Simon spent time, money and research to find these items and failed Finn and jack stumble across them mostly by luck
Meanwhile, Finn, in the future, had all this stuff in a giant pile in his tree house 😂😂😂😂
Jokes on theme Simon will end up being the only human to survive the nuclear devastation of the mushroom war thanks to his interest in magical items
Also marceline, she was born when he discovered the enchiridion + Tom and the other survivors that would later end up populating founders island.
The students in spectator mode: Wait... it's all true?
Death: Always has been...
If you remember from Elemental and Evergreen. Magic did exist in various shape or form but was lost through time waiting to be found by a human boy with his talking dog 1,000 years in the future.
As a kid I thought he was a silly old man growing up I realised how deep and complex his character is, he’s quickly risen to be one of my favourite characters in adventure time
Real strong Daniel Jackson vibes from this scene
I still think that book was more trouble than it was worth.
Lmao the "trust me bro" at the end of the presentation.
No wonder Ice King fit right in the world of Ooo as a powerful wizard, he always subconciously knew of all the weird artifacts hidden from the world and knew how to use them, he had the mind of a wizard without the power to back it up until using the crown
Well, seeing as Simon survived the Mushroom War, I’d say he got the last laugh.
He probably has survivors guilt and wakes up in the middle of the night to ask himself, out of 6 billion people on the planet why him. Knowing that those people had a terrible fate at the hands of the lich or vampire King
like half of these are already cursed, poor guy was doomed to be cursed no matter what lmao
Poor simon...
Finn and jake beat him to it
Simon: I will now read a passage from the Enchiridion, 'how to..kiss princesses'?!
reporters laugh
Simon: ehehe moving on, lets uh skip ahead shell we!
Props to Finn for proving all of those Students wrong!
It’s how he knew about the lamb even though Finn never told him.
We always knew about the enchiridion since Holly Jolly secrets showed Simon with that book years ago in the season 3 finale. The rest could have been made as an assumption that he may have discovered some of the artifacts we see in modern day Ooo.
My question is what were the original civilizations like that used those magical artifacts to begin with before the lich bomb changed the world.
I mean, the ice king's crown was made back in the era of the dinossaurs, so some of these artifacts could be millions of years old and predate the very concept of civilazation like the crown.
Not gonna lie, really wished he could time travel with all that stuff even for a moment and rub it in those jerks faces
What did Simon do to deserve getting dunked on *THIS* hard?
"People’s dreams don’t ever end!! It isn’t easy to be great!! Let them laugh! If you’re aiming for the top, you don’t always need your fists to show your might!!”
- "Blackbeard" Marshall D. Teach, Captain of the Blackbeard Pirates
Oh, not this Guy bruh xD
The utter disrespect bro
"Here it is" 😭
😭😭😭😭
I laughed at that scene, I felt bad for simon but I still laughed...(I am ashamed)
I think because of the thousand years apart. Since finn and jake had help from other like choose goose for information. The items that are shown are not easy to find and get since some of them are guarded or have some weird things or effects. Since it is a thousand year apart, maybe there are people who know where the items are but can't get it since they are not fitted or doesn't have a strong will like finn to get it.
We all feel Simon’s pain here. I feel so sorry for the man. He just can’t catch a break for once. I’m surprised he really knew about all that other stuff Finn and Jake had found. At least someone should tell him they already found them all what he was searching for.
Honestly they outta build a statue for Simon to discover these things.
Or maybe he could leave evidence behind so that Finn or Jake can realize who found them first.
He did catch a break when he met Betty.
Before the crown, every moment he shared with her was a happy one.
Bro was even engaged.
Edit: They also found the Enchiridion, proving that at least one of the objects in his presentation was real.
These people really couldn't take Dr Petrikov seriously.
That's why these students become dust with no legacy.
Even partially almighty Prizmo knows Simon's name.
Truly poor ones are these people with no dream...
But the question is: How does Simon know they exist? Who were the first people to ever see those things, other than Finn and Jake?
people as in humans? or people as in not humans? cause the first would be the original elementals, fire, ice, slime, and candy!
Why does he have pictures of these
@@gavtheviking9496 Pretty Sure that they have to be drawings that functions as representation for the theorized objects. His accuracy is probably a coincidence or a direction decision to make it easier to connect with the original series
0:47 The man got book slapped 👋
I like that the actual name is “the freaky porcelain lamb”
Well in Adventure Time, Marceline did show the Ice King a newspaper clipping of Simon holding the Enchiridion Book
I’m pretty sure later in the episode when he has the enchiridion, they take a picture of him holding it that appears in a newspaper way back somewhere in the show
In “I remember you” it is the photo on the newspaper clipping that Marceline shows ice king, which he wrote on
I really understand some of the references from the original series. It's very shocking they still making some references, much to our nostalgic experience for better.
Kinda sad that all this stuff being real and present in Ooo is proof that Simon CAN find purpose in this new world and retake some of his passions but he just... doesn't.
The objects he spent his whole life searching to prove to the world, and now there nothing special, and you can buy them from some frog for a couple of coins
Simon was even involved with the cursed lamb as Simon, I wonder if he remembers that bit
Poor simon, they didn't believe all stuff (atleast finn and jake found all of stuff) also the book but the end part is was unexpected and kinda funny for that
everyone in that room (Sans Betty) died 1000 years before his current time. Everyone and everything he knew or ever interacted with is dead.
Definitely an unintentional "karma" for ignoring Simon's discovery and class
Rest in Piss Bozos 😂
I’m glad they reference some old episodes from the past and bring them due this day
All I'm getting from this series is Simon STILL isn't getting the happiness he deserves.
I think he is going to find CLOSURE, because that's what he needs the most.
Wait, if Mars king's wand was already known about before the Mushroom War, does that mean that humans not only knew about the Mars society they but also probably knew about Grob Gob Glob Grod?
More good reasons why alternate universe iterations of the artifacts need to be extracted and either hidden or purged afterwards.
Still bummed that the humans of this universe wasted their time starting the damned Mushroom War. Would love to know who, what, where, and why was responsible for the conflict, due to concerns that it may have been kickstarted by Multiversal terrorists and overreaching manipulative bastards.
Makes sense' those things definitely existed WAYYYYY before the Mushroom War
Overly the enchiridion but i am curious how the humanity was able to know a relic of mars
This is a pretty smart way to do references
I mean if you haven’t seen those episodes or forgot about them they still work with the character and the jokes still land(no pun intended)
I'm kind of surprised those items has been setting around way longer then I thought
Damn those bozos that disrespect simon crying in their grave when they discover that all the item on simon's list are true
Yeah it was cool seeing these artifacts again
Also i love the callback to simon's picture when he gets out of the car
This episode was really nice ❤
No wonder he couldn’t find the wand it was on a different planet
Imagining taking disrespect from every living creature for +1060 years straight 😭
That explains how he knew to break the lamb to free Finn.
A lot of people don’t realise that the audience is completely right
Imagine if someone tried to claim all of this in real life without showing any evidence or proof or anything
Finn just casually finding them 💀
Simon was never gonna find that wand
I now want to write a fanfiction where Simon just wanders around Ooo and acts all nerdy around things he spent his entire life looking for. Imagine him just digging through Finn and Jake's treasure hoard? Or the random junk Ice King stashed away. Maybe even doing science things with PB or just handing with Marcy.
These are literally my flashbacks at watching this episode.
I mean, he did know alot about magic and the one fucking demon GOLB that was allies with The Lich.
That was all in the Enchiridion.
0:46 well that student should be expelled for assaulting a professor
Didin't he proved them all wrong by finding the book then he got full of journalist interviweing him.
Frog gaurd: “ I have to guard these magic beans😐”
Jake: “huh😗🤨”
All great minds where ridiculed during their time
Hell yeah, of course he knew.
Want to know what’s sad. In his old world Simon looked for all these objects to become famous. In his new world, not only are all these objects known, and not only can you buy these objects from some random frog for like a few coins….but most of these items are probably in Finn’s basement
ikr i saw this episode and all these call backs were crazy, it was like i was back in like 2012
you ge the feeling it was destiny simon was meant to live this long and maybe become a hero in world that needed him
Im suprised that Marcelines Axe is not mention, or Abadeers pendant
that book at the ends is Sheldon's journal
Is this why Ice King knew about the lamb?
Poor Simon
I remember the lady armor episode (kinda) and of course the enchiridion.
Fact that he know how the lamb work
Honestly if it wasn't the crown it would have been something else. Mans was going to get himself cursed eventually
Ya, you're probably right about that
Me and the boys packing our things on our way to look for the Enchiridion:🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿
0:46
Oh heck, nah, kid is asking for a death wish 💀
Now that I think about it it makes sense why the Ice King knew about so many artifacts and what-not even if he wasn't trying to be helpful with information about them. Like when Ice King helped Finn with the freaky Porcelain Lamb thing.
i love how betty frowned when the guy said magic beans 😭
He really got that personal when he got the crown
hehe!it was really cool to see these appear! i acrually did remember them all!
Jokes on them he lives over 1000 years but very depressed
If he knew Golb then yes, of course he knew about this
Simon is just like Milo from Atlantis
The wildest of these is the wand cause how the fuck did this mf know about some obscure relic ALL THE WAY IN MARS
my question is how did all these artifacts exist before magic was brought to the land of ooo?
Magic was on the Earth before Ooo. The comets, the Crown, the elementals. Etc.
@@JesusSalazar-vx1us I guess so. the events after the mushroom war just sort of amplified magic right?
@@an0bserver2000 Probably. Remember that after the war a comet came, maybe that do something on Ooo.
Just a theory.
magic pretty much always existed, it’s just every thousand years the comet makes it to where magic is suppressed or heightened. simon just lives in the time where magic is suppressed. (and because of the crown lives a thousand years in the future where magic is heightened)
1000 out of 1000
Wow. Simon was laughing stock pre-lich bomb. 🤯
well I guess you find things you don’t look for at the time…
0:46 Now that's what I call, Facebook
