I got so used to everyone’s Zanpakutos having crazy powers that it feels weird seeing shikai Zabimaru actually cut something again.

Yes Renji easy the best character in bleach ,a normal guy with a big heart and big balls ,working hard to achieve his goals doesn't ever give up,always helps his friends even if he knows he's no match for the opponents a true man in every sense of the word

Nice to see Renji look useful again. He was our first taste of lieutenant and then got swiftly outclassed. Even with a bankai, I can scarcely remember a fight he's been in where his sword didn't get broken.
if mask de masculine damage his ears, he shoudn't hear james so that he can't heal himself
James healed him regardless. Mask doesn't need to hear him, all James has to do is to hear Mask and heals him

Renji was also in the trajectory of the Supernova. The manga makes this more clear.
He was nuking Renji and they were in the way. Either way, Zaga Teppo wouldn't have any trouble incinerating James so the results would have been the same
I had a hard time watching the beginning of this arc cuz they killed off some good characters but i realized they are showing how the newer characters and the main characters have to power up cuz their strongest players got killed

Ya know i don't really like Soho Zabimaru as a "true" bankai. I feeel like that is a secondary form rather than "true bankai". Having the raw power being condensed into a more wieldable weapon while the previous power was just giant snake cannon go big boom.

This would have been much easier to swallow if it was a competitive back and forth but mask takes out 2 veteran captains at probably his basex3 multiplier and renji pretty much one shots him af full power which seems closer to a 20 X multiplier...weak
Well. Renji and Rukia's training isn't normal. They trained in the Royal Palace, which is legit like the Hyperbolic time chamber from Dragon Ball. They even explained that training in the royal palace is completely different from any training they will ever do. Which explains why Renji is stronger than any low/mid captain level. And Rose and Kensei seem to be at the mid range captain level.
It would be foolish to compare renji to rose and kensei he's clearly stronger than them and easily could get a captain place if he wanted... he's just staying in the 6th to reach byakuya's level

@@Shyne282 byakuya also trained in Division 0 and reached new level, his shikai is now as strong as his old bankai before training

Not quite. While he is engraving a part of his soul in each Stërnritter, he also draws out something from within the recipient's soul via the letter he inscribed. After they die, the piece of his soul that he lent comes back, but with the person's cumulative skills and experience.

@@soul8648 James was the actual Stërnritter, and Mask was a creation of the Superstar. This is from Kubo himself. How that ultimately worked is unclear, but it is the case. When James and Mask died, Ywach absorbed their skills and experiences along with the Superstar.

Part 1 of Bleach didn’t do favors for Renji, especially his Bankai being underrated and not defeating anyone even remotely good(fillers don’t count). Canon wise in part 1, it only defeated a fraccion of Grimwjoww
But part 2, give him some fair game. The Sternritter are all on par or greater than captain level so Renji was outmatched
to be FAIR, Renji was the one who couldn't even use the basic Kido. Like his Reiatsu was THAT weak. The Sternritter are FAR too powerful
It's lore mistake. Renji can still access previous form by calling the wrong name, like Yumichika does. They say it's his former power.
It is his false Bankai, so yeah, it's not the form his Bankai takes anymore. Also, Hihio Zabimaru was the partial name given by Zabimaru because he didn't respect Renji enough, unlike Yumichika, who deliberately misnames his Zanpakuto to weaken it.

Just because this is his true Bankai, doesn't mean he can't use he half powers of his Bankai aka "false Bankai. It's just like... why would he, when he has way stronger form
