For our delusional fanbase - New coordinator, transfer QB, transfer receivers and a makeshift line… fans expectations are illogically high. We should be happy this was a good college football game and we came away with a hard fought win. This team is what it is.
Well, there's A LOT of talent on this team.. More realistically than right now, our Irish should be competing for national titles in 2026, 2027 and hopefully forward. In the 2nd/3rd season of the Minchey/Carr era, heading into the Deuce(maybe?)/Grubbs eras. This young talent on roster is as good as anyone's. 💯🤷🏽♂️☘
@@IrishNattyby27 I agree! I think transfer QB’s have been unsuccessful bandaids but with the potential of long term coordinators, a long term coach (hopefully) and the upward trajectory in recruiting we should be in great shape the next 1-2 years
I’m still scratching my head over the departure of Matt Balis. He was heralded from the date of his hire during Brian Kelly’s 2016-17 metamorphosis & a hero when Kelly left. All of a sudden he’s gone, with no real explanation. Why?
Freeman offered, "Well, we have his workout plan if we should ever need it.." when asked about why the program decided to move in a new direction in regards to S&C director. 🤦🏽♂️☘
Usually in a case like this there is something unspeakable, (because nothing has been spoken). Nothing spoken by either side, and no information probably means that some arrangement was made to keep whatver it is out of the public eyes. Whether it is something heinous, or just something personal, the University has all kinds of reasons to accede to a request for an arrangement that keeps matters private, and the resources to keep it that way. Ultimately, nobody is more creative at saying 'no comment' than Marcus Freeman, and it is likely we will never know unless Balis writes an autobiography.
I get their point about the Strength and Conditioning coach but there's one variable that's different for the last 7 years... The S/C coach! Is this the most knee/ankle injuries that ND has ever had in a single year?
NO....ND has suffered some major knee injuries over the years. The blame game is for the spoiled brat couch coaches who think they know football but do nothing but blame others for bad luck.
Also…..has anyone considered the fact there was discussion/hopes that ND would change apparel companies due to complaints about UA shoes. All footwear is NOT the same.!
I thought Jeff Brohm was struggling on his is offensive play calling. He was fumbling his paper play sheets, hands shaking, and getting the plays in with little time left. GO IRISH!
Some bad no calls on both side of the ball, and at least one or two phantom calls, this is possibly the second-worst Officials crew in the current ACC roster. Two or three of the most blatant missed calls were not only visible, they were in the foreground of the Peacock filmed coverage! The main complaint here is that not only was an official standing right in the coverage shot, he was LOOKING at the no-call on a clear face-mask that - left uncalled, will eventually get someone seriously injured. Not good. Valorous play by Riley, and many others like Faison, Moore, Morrison and Urlacher, and possibly every member of both lines despite being beaten more than not (even though Oben is simply not up to the level of play needed, he struggled as best he could). Rest up guys. We know you need it! Go Irish!
A foolish podcaster started this BS conversation about the shoes.....a study was done but the study itself mentioned the variables that could not be controlled. So it was really word salad. The podcaster in question is a performative shock jock who makes money off "ND fandom" by clutching his pearls constantly screaming like chicken little. An adolescent boy mindset.
Did you pay attention and see the extremely poor condition of the grass field after the stadium renovation? The taller west side press box prevented any sunshine from hitting the grass field in Oct and Nov. The resulting bare dirt and muddy conditions in the second half of the season were absolutely not acceptable. Solid turf in November is an infinitely better option. Knute Rockne, an extreme football innovator, would fully agree. Go Irish! 🍀🏈🍀🏈🍀
@@philipbrigham981 I would prefer the grass field then the stadium renovation if I had to make a choice. Was losing the grass field really worth adding some stadium suites and classrooms to ND stadium? The turf has never looked good aesthetically as a fan when watching on television. More importantly, the ACL injuries on the turf is depressing.
@@pavinb1738 Sorry for your wishful thinking, but I don’t think they’re planning to tear down the taller stadium buildings anytime soon. You think the old muddy dirt November turf looks better aesthetically on TV?? How so? Do you have a stat on ACL injuries pre and post turf at ND Stadium?
Some of our “fans” have become insufferable. We would be better off if they didn’t show up or post on message boards. Losers would be the word we would have used to describe them.
All you amateur OCs that never coached a down of football in your lives. Let me illuminate your relative lack of knowledge about football. If you are getting beat up front, there is NOTHING you can do, to consistently move the ball. There are no plays, there are no calls or adjustments you can make. ND is a triple option based football team. When Riley gets dinged up, you lose 1 of your 3 options. You are left with running your backs and drop back passing. Which is a HUGE challenge with an OL that is struggling run blocking and pass protecting and a QB who is not a gifted passer and struggles with accuracy. Denbrock is great, he played off his defense, and kept a couple of plays in his pocket to put the game away. Thats coaching
During ND’s last offensive series you knew that as soon as Riley would tuck that ball to run 13 Cardinals & the water boy would immediately run at him. Was there no way we could have taken advantage of that gross over reaction?
Blame, blame blame......injuries happen in football. This fan base has become as whiney as Prister and O'Malley. These guys would tell you they are honest and calling it like it is....but it is from their limited experience and knowledge. After all, they are local/university media guys...at least we don't have to listen to Prister on this podcast.

Agreed. And let’s not forget the last time ND won a national championship was during the Reagan administration.
