Alright, let’s hear it - if every player hit free agency today, who’s your #1 pick to build a team around? 👀 Any hot takes outside of Ohtani, Judge, or Soto?
@@mancavesportsnetwork id say Jose Ramirez, he’s often underrated and the dude is always in the post season mix. Cleveland just seems to fall short due to pitching
@@SeorgeGoroshe is a stud but there are a few guys ahead
@@TheDA53 there are nobody ahead of Ohtani. He plays in a completely different league. Higher than the majors but nobody to play against as he will be completely alone. (Nobody can do what he does)
Therefore Ohtani is forced to play in the level where the stats are made for specialists players on their own terms. the stats are adjusted to the 2-way player that Ohtani is, who has to divide his play between to specialist categories. Pitching and hitting.
Still with those unadjusted stats for 2-way player, he is in the upper echelon on both doing them simultaneously.
That 2nd inning 3 run home run by Ohtani in Game 1 of the NLDS was the biggest momentum changer I have ever felt. We never had a moment like that in the past 11 seasons in the postseason. That homerun told us Dodgers fans that this year, it’s finally going to be different.
That homer felt like a turning point for sure. Ohtani has a way of delivering in the biggest moments.
Thanks for being in NY and recognize Ohtani as the Unicorn.❤
People don’t understand what a grueling process it is to rehab from such invasive surgery.
The physical painful grind of stretching the scars millimeters by millimeters for month to build up motion and strength..
The mental battle to go through it. And as Freddie Freeman said, doing all that daily and then go out in the evening to hit dingers in the game.
The discipline and the love for the game is what makes Ohtani overcome all this.
He is truly more rare than the Halley’s Comet ☄️ we may never see anybody like this player ever in our lives
Just enjoy seeing him in his prime, even if he is not in New York.
Couldn’t have said it better. 🙌 Ohtani’s work ethic and resilience are on another level - the dude is literally rewriting what’s possible in baseball. We’re lucky to witness it, no matter what city he’s in. Just sit back and appreciate the greatness!
Just because Soto is highest paid doesn't mean he's better than Ohtani, Harper, Judge, Betts, and Corey Seagar.
Totally fair point - salary doesn’t always equal best overall player. But Soto’s combination of power, plate discipline, and consistency at such a young age makes him worth every penny. He’s in elite company with those names, and his ceiling is still sky-high
The media really tried to push him as "generational" for whatever reason. Dodgers and Ohtani haters were ready to crown anybody...
I agree with a few of those names but he is damn good
Anyone who doesn't agree with Ohtani as number 1 is free to debate me any time
We’ll grab the popcorn for that debate. 😆 But yeah, anyone trying to argue against Ohtani better bring their A-game and stats!
Rob Parker
Biggest Ohtani hater
cricket
He's a DH
@@jeremiahraggie464assessment. And an Elite Pitcher. You lost. Next!!!
Imagine, if last offseason The Yankees offered Shohei Ohtani the same contract they offered Juan Soto, they’d have the best and second best players in MLB and a World Series
Man, imagine the chaos! 😅 Ohtani and Judge in the same lineup? The Yankees would’ve been unstoppable.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda
@@LosDoyerssbut they didntna
@@skylerortiztheboxer4910 ohtani was never going to east coast …it’s not his style …& he does not fit in with Yankees culture …ohtani is more about honor & less about money …that’s one reason he deferred 90% of his current contract salary…ohtani understands that one man alone cannot win multiple championships in baseball…& so he allowed the dodgers to build the most complete ball club around him to give them a chance @ glory …& his first season has already paid off
@@otani928 Ohtani couldn't survive in places like Boston, NYC, Philly as I believe he still doesn't do pre game interviews which is why he went to Anaheim at first.
Ohtani from a team and owner perspective is the most obvious answer.... production and the amount of global money he brings in.... hands down.
Couldn’t have said it better. Ohtani isn’t just a player - he’s an entire global marketing campaign in cleats. The guy prints money.
Yeah, Ohtani is a Brand of its own.
It’s funny watching Europeans check the rules of baseball to understand what Ohtani is doing.
Ohtani is the first baseball professional to be on the COVER of British, French, Spanish, German and Italian BIG sports and news magazines multiple times, since 2021. He is transcendental athlete.
@@mirikaku5811 Ohtani’s not just growing the game - he’s making baseball go international in a way we’ve never seen. When you’ve got fans in Europe googling the infield fly rule because of one player, you know he’s on another level. 🌍⚾
They only way you would pick anyone but Ohtani at number 1 is if you were only considering hitting and even then, you you could still put him in the conversation
Exactly! Even if you strip away the pitching, Ohtani’s bat alone puts him near the top. Add in that 100mph heat? It’s game over. Total unicorn. 🦄
Ohtani is the goat. Not only is he dirt cheap he brings you team Japan.
No doubt - Ohtani’s talent is unreal, and the value he brings on and off the field is unmatched. Getting an ace and a slugger in one player plus the entire backing of Team Japan? That’s next-level impac
Shohei is an easy #1. The greatest professional ballplayer in the history of sports. GOAT 🐐🐐+ Unicorn. Nuf said.
Absolutely. Shohei isn’t just rewriting the record books - he’s creating a whole new section. GOAT + Unicorn is the perfect way to put it! 🐐🦄
The injury to Mookie was hit by pitch not that he's breaking down... yet.
Fair point. Mookie's a tough dude. Hopefully, it’s just a blip and not the start of something long-term. Dodgers need him in that lineup!
lol word that dude played with a broken wrist and won 🏆
@@jinlondzale4191 Mookie’s built different. 😤 Winning with an injured wrist is legendary stuff - guy’s got that championship DNA!
@@mancavesportsnetwork he’s so underrated. He was actually leading the MvP race before the injury.
Mookie is way better than Soto.
Soto cause of age. Aaron Judge would be great you DH Judge he would hit even better and the best player in MLB. Ohtani is special yet two TJ and a bum shoulder and DH, he more valuable.
That Juan Soto comment was so dumb.. “Eat himself out of the league..” 🥴.. 😒 when hasn’t he been in shape
anyone who actually thinks Soto is worth more than ohtani has no clue about basic economics & needs to learn how to analyze statistics…ohtani is actually worth more than both Soto & judge @ this moment …top 5 pitcher & top 5 slugger …& he has ability to give a ball club multiple World Series titles …as a manager …I’m taking ohtani any day of the week
Totally get where you're coming from - Ohtani’s value is off the charts when you factor in his two-way ability. Being elite on both sides of the game is something we haven’t seen in modern baseball. But Soto’s consistency at the plate and age make him a long-term investment teams drool over. It’s like comparing a unicorn to a generational hitter - both are rare, just in different ways.
@ Soto may arguably be the greatest slugger in modern baseball…but he’s @ best a DH in the next few seasons
@@otani928 Soto’s bat is elite, no doubt - his plate discipline and power are generational. While defense might not be his strongest asset, he’s still young and could improve. Even if he transitions to more DH duties down the line, his offensive production will keep him in the conversation as one of the best
You have Shohei you have the world
Facts. 🌍 Ohtani isn’t just a player - he’s a global phenomenon. Any team with him instantly becomes must-watch baseball.
@ yeah , I stopped watching watch baseball for at least a decade, i came back to watch Othani play , was Braves fan since 1990, now I follow Othani wherever he goes
@@mastersmmaandfitness7661 That’s the Ohtani effect! 😆 He’s the kind of player that brings fans back to the game - doesn’t matter what team you rooted for before, you just wanna see greatness in action. ⚾🔥
when Judge is in the groove there is no one that compare. He is streaky though.
100% agree. When Judge locks in, it’s like watching batting practice at Yankee Stadium. But yeah, those cold spells can be rough. Feast or famine sometimes!
Giancarlo is a better hitter if healthy.
Soto is too high considering he is just a hitter. Also, Acuna when healthy, he is the top 3 player, he should be higher than where he is. Obviously, no one can top Ohtani as he is number one.
Where is Freddie Freeman?
Freddie’s getting love - just didn’t crack the top convo this time. The man is as consistent as they come, though. Future HOF’er for sure.
MAYBE top 20. Maybe
@@skylerortiztheboxer4910 let me look... game 1 of the World Series... oh .. arguement done. Clutch counts!
@@laartworkThen we can say the same about Aaron Judges failure of a post season? Freddie out performed Judge by far with a broken ankle!
@@summerfi I’ll take freeman over judge & Soto any day of the week
Is that the D.A?! Mariner legend!?
👀 Haha, you know it! Always good to see the Mariners' faithful in the comments. Appreciate the love!
Believe it
I think better make this video to make Ohtani as exceptional. No meaning to include him considering incomparable money from global big companies.
Ohtani also underpaid
.
Facts. Ohtani's playing two positions and getting one paycheck. Somebody get this man a raise - or two! 😆
soro should carry the mets, and win WS if not hahahahaha
😂 That’s a lot of pressure on Soto. If he pulls it off, Mets fans are building statues by Citi Field! If not… well, there’s always next season!
Skenes
Paul Skenes is an exciting talent with a lot of potential, but this list focuses on players who have already solidified their place at the top. He’s definitely someone to watch, and with time, he could absolutely earn his way into future rankings.
@ dude had a 5.9 WAR last year with a 214 ERA+, won ROY and was third in cy young in 2/3 of a season 😂
@@aduncaroo No doubt, Skenes had an incredible season - his numbers are insane for a rookie. The list might lean more towards players with a longer track record, but if he keeps this up, he’s a lock for future top 10s. Definitely excited to see how he builds on that!
None of them are number one. Bobby Witt is my pick
Bobby Witt Jr. is a beast! Kid’s got all the tools - speed, power, defense. If he keeps climbing, this might not be a hot take for long. 👀
I am a Witt Jr fan, however let's be honest, he's not on Ohtani's level.
I like Judge, however feel he's at times overrated. One dimensional and is non-existent in the post season.
Fair take! Judge definitely has his critics when it comes to postseason performance. But with the kind of power and numbers he puts up during the regular season, it's hard to ignore his impact.
Aaron judge the best
Dawning of the age of Soto and Mets dynasty. The dodgers are the past, Mets are the future.
Big words! Mets fans deserve some love, but that "dynasty" word… let’s pump the brakes until October! 😏
Let get a WS fisrt then maybe we can bring that up..right now they are far from a dynasty...the dodger after 2025 will become a dynasty with 2025 ws champs..
Sounds like a yankee fan trying to put juju on mets
Juan Soto does not move the needle. Just ask the folks in San Diego.
Mets got Soto and starts talking shit like they've won the WS 😅 Congrats for being a tier 1 team tho if that counts 😂
Soto isnt worth over 400 million mets over paid and will suffer the consequences they will never win with soto
What team do you root for?
Not a Yankee fan here. I agree. Soto being paid that much is WILD. The contract offer from the nats was truly the most accurate contract for him
@@mattamatic1 It really isn't an "overpay" if the owner has that "F-you" money. Cohen wont care about the taxes so he'll get Soto the help he needs. IMO "overpay" only applies when you can afford any other player after spending all that money on one player.
At $400M, every team would be willing to sign Soto.
@mattamatic1
All 30 teams would be willing to sign Soto for the Nats contract.
Ohtani without those steals ain’t the same. He’s not gonna run while pitching
Yes...but he has "steals" in his tool bag and can pitch at an elite level as well as hit on PAR with everyone on the list so.....
@ do you even play fantasy? You can’t have him as both hitter and pitcher. His hitting will diminish this season if he has to pitch
@@NayaWrap He's won two MVPs while pitching and hitting. Yes he wont hit 50 HR or steal 50 bases, but he'll still be the best player in the game with MVP like seasons.
Loving this back-and-forth! Ohtani's basically a cheat code at this point. 😏 Even if he dials back the steals, the combo of elite pitching and 30+ HR power still puts him in his own category. Fantasy baseball managers just gotta accept the struggle!
@@NayaWrap He won 2 unanimous MVP's hitting and pitching and 1 unanimous MVP as a DH only. He's on another level. Also brings a lot of Japanese money. He's a golden goose
