It was enjoyable on the float tube in the calm conditions. tactically I think I got it wrong because it was calm I targeted the open water but most of my fish came casting into the shallow water closer to the bank.
I never got the knack of fly fishing, or the attraction of float tubes, but its great to watch someone be successful with it. Good stuff, beautiful fish in a beautiful setting. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks buddy, it was a tough fishing day in calm conditions but most enjoyable on the float tube. Thanks for watching and commenting. What methods of fishing do you like?
@@PiscatorUK-Fishing Just spotted your reply, hence my delay. Back in my prime you'd have called me a specimen hunter, fishing predominantly for pike, big perch, carp, grayling, tench and mullet. Ill health and advancing age made me give it up for a few years. I had sold my gear but recently got myself a few wee bits and pieces. I travel light these days, and fish within casting distance of the car, but basically float fishing, drop shotting, or throwing out a sardine for pike on my occassional foray.
@@bailienicoljarvie2878 No problem, good your still getting out to cast a line mate no matter where it is. There’s no better place to be, either by yourself or with a fishing buddy. Tight lines and thanks again for your comments very much appreciated👍
Superb Douglas. Going by the river levels, the last weekend of the trout season will be on the float tube, on a 'fish soup' hill loch. You need to get down this way next season buddy, tight lines sir.
Cheers buddy, it’s been a crazy year on the rivers this year with low water conditions for the best part of the season and typically they are up as the season comes to a close. Yeah I need to find some new venues for the float tube for next year. Tight lines also.
Thanks buddy, good luck with the float tube mate. As you said, it can be hard fishing sometimes but it’s a real joy to be surrounded by stunning scenery.
@@PiscatorUK-Fishingaye its a real pleasure to have that on your doorstep. I will have to give the dapping a go sometime too. I was actually fly fishing once and cast me dry fly to below a tree but it landed on a branch close to the water and a fish came up and had a go at the branch lol. Musta been starvin 😂 Cheers n tight lines!!
Were you fishing up on Rannoch Moor by any chance? The location looked somewhat familiar. Please keep the videos coming - they are both entertaining and informative.
Stunning location Douglas, wild fish and scenery, Hard fishing in a flat calm, well done!
