I was never a big Fleetwood mac fan, so I never got to hear Lyndsey really play. He was no Clapton, Page, or Beck, he never jammed. I was VERY wrong! Mr. Buckingham should be a guitar GOD. He is every bit as good as those other legends, and maybe better! His finger picking is absolutely amazing and so is this performance. As others here have said, maybe the most underrated musician of his time.

No Lindsey, no Fleetwood Mac. He was the heart and soul of that band. When I first saw Fleetwood Mac, the only person I was familiar with was Stevie Nicks. I walked out going "HOLY CRAP! THAT LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM GUY WAS AMAZING!" Fleetwood Mac needs Lindsey and needs to show their appreciation for him. Fleetwood Mac wouldn't be touring today if it wasn't for Lindsey, fact.

But to this day, even though I play guitar myself, I don't fully understand how he does what he does. I don't know how he manages to finish every song without blood all over his fingers the way he hits those strings.

I love this video because Lindsey is the magic that gave Fleetwood Mac that exotic, unique and incredible sound. Rumors album has got to be in my top 3 favorite all time favorites. Lindsey is to Fleetwood Mac, what Paul Rodgers is to Bad Company. Love your commentary too!

I know the live version of this song very well from one of the FW compilation albums. I had always assumed that it was played by two guitarists. Absolutely amazing, and it blows the studio version out of the water. Definitely one of the most underrated guitarists. Frozen Love is such an incredible song, and really showcases Lindsey's talent.
I mentioned it on your previous Buckingham video, but I'll repeat it for others: check out Fleetwood Mac - I'm So Afraid (live 1980). Best solo from Lindsey that I know of.

Yes! I was actually going to recommend you do this one. As far as any performance that is just a man, his voice and guitar this is the peak for me. Buckingham has set the bar and in his 60s when most rockers are just a shadow of their former selves.

  • @dmwalker24

When they did the tour for their reunion "The Dance", I was 17 and hadn't played guitar for long. Watching that show is what inspired me to learn to finger-pick. Not gonna lie, there was quite the learning curve with this song, but the worst of it is getting the picking pattern down with that separate melody and harmony.

When he and Stevie joined Fleetwood Mac, they changed the sound of the band. Originally Fleetwood Mac was more blues based back in the 60s. By the time Lindsey and Stevie joined, their sound became more of a California sound, like the Eagles.

Yet another great guitarist who never quite gets the credit he deserves. The amount of emotion he puts into guitar and voice. You can tell that he spends a lot of time playing by himself by the way he keeps the rhythm and bass lines going just with the guitar. You can almost hear a three piece band. A secret influence of my metal style, although I am nowhere near as good.

Thanks Fil. Buckingham is without a doubt a key element of the Buckingham/Nicks era along with her, Stevie, and as you said he added so much but we are not the ones involved to have to deal with each other, although many things have been said and written about the band's relationships and dynamics...
Another extremely talented artist and self taught to top it all... when I was 12 I had a record deal waiting for me at Polydor (France) as well, they had songs and everything for me, I was basically about to sign as a product of someone I wasn't based on mostly the fact that they felt I sounded like Joan Baez and Linda Rondstadt mixed together... well, I declined because those songs were not reflecting much of me at the time (though I was young) but I didn't want to be a product so I decline and my mom never forgave me ;)
Thank you for highlighting another great musician, you might get him discovered by some younger people and those who had Fleetwod Mac overshadowing LB's work within the band.
    Merci

@@carlandersonlll6861 you think so because Peter Green was in Fleetwood Mac for less than 10 years and Lindsey Buckingham was in Fleetwood Mac for like 40 years and if it wasn't for Stevie Nicks being weird and conceited he would still be in the band. Lindsey Buckingham has plenty of solo albums has done lots of solar tours and about to embark on another solo tour here in 2021 I saw him in 2007 at the Taft theater in Cincinnati and it was totally awesome he doesn't need Fleetwood Mac he made Fleetwood Mac what it is they would have been nothing with out Lindsey because he wrote most of their best songs in hits he is one of the greatest singer songwriter guitarist of our time and hey he has lasted unlike Peter Green who didn't last I'm not saying Peter Green wasn't good but he just didn't last

    • @randybailin4902

Actually, you'd probably never have heard of Lindsey Buckingham without Fleetwood Mac. The group existed, and were probably better, long before he joined. They achieved great commercial success when he and Stevie Nicks joined, but a little context is in order.

    • @zodspeed
      @zodspeed 2 года назад +4

@@randybailin4902 they didn’t blow up until AFTER Lindsey came in and started producing 100% of their songs, including Stevie’s. The Buckingham Nicks album is truly underrated, and that album is what got Buckingham into Fleetwood Mac. I personally never like to compare Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac to Buckingham’s because they are basically 2 different bands, but there’s no doubt that Buckingham brought more to the table than anyone else in the band’s history.
