Just bought a GameCube and Thankyou so much for this video! Especially going into the gameboy player home brew as it’s a massive reason I’m getting the console. Can’t wait to play gameboy on the tv with a crisp quality.
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Tripp Dennis Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
I have this adapter and while it has decent image quality I can't tell much of a difference between the standard and line doubled 480p setting on a 720p hdtv - in fact, in some games, the standard setting might look a bit better.
I've just bought one of these adapters from Kaico and it says on the box that the firmware for it can be upgraded. They must have improved on the one you bought... Great Video! I will be looking at their other products for the rest of my consoles. I've actually got a retrotink 5x pro, but I like the idea of having an adapter plugged into each console ready to go...
Hey, this video was like EXACTLY what I needed, especially with you going over the GBI and everything. Definitely going to purchase! You haven't noticed any problems with it since you uploaded this, have you?
No problems to report at all. It's been an excellent purchase. There's another comment on this video early on talking about forcing GameCube games to play in 480p via Swiss that's worth checking. I play all my GCN games that way now.
Why did you not use Swiss to force the Pal games in progressive scan 480p(yes you can run Pal games in 480p in Swiss) when you had the SD Media Launcher, i use it and i can say, you get much better picture then in 480i.
That's a very good question. I wasn't sure how to make that stick when I made the video (the settings would reset when I started a game for some reason). I have since done this with a few games and I agree the picture is lovely and sharp. Nonetheless it's great to see vastly positive results without doing that, so even those not interested in homebrew will still reap the benefits of a HDMI adapter.
Yeah if you use the adapter, turn linedoubling off then force 480p or 576p it will look and play better because all the processing the adapter does to line double will be eliminated and also no more flicker because it's natural 480/576 progressive scan image 🤩😎
@@TheMultiGenGamer For the kaico, do i have to add aditional cables in order to get audio? I dont think the gamecube digital output gives audio(thats for the original output ?)
Why would you want to play 50hz versions to begin with? The only reason games were converted to PAL was to make them compatible with really old TVs. I live in a PAL country and every single CRT I've tested has handled 60hz, you probably have to find a set from the 70s to not get 60hz support. So they could have just gone with having them run with 60hz straight from the NES if it wasn't for legacy support.
@@TheMultiGenGamer Why don't you just play the NTSC versions then? Even if they're properly converted to 50hz to run at the same speed you're gonna lose out on framerate.
From a personal perspective, I often play imports. In general though, a lot of people don't bother with them. I included the 50hz stuff in the video so those that don't import will know the adapter would work fine with those titles.
@@TheMultiGenGamer There's not a single PAL version on any console that I play because they're just worthless trash unless they're PAL exclusive which is very rare.

@Tripp Dennis It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my ass!

Any thoughts about Retro-Bit Prism HD? I'm trying to decide between these two.
I also want component cables though... hmm
Nice video thanks

Shit this is now 79.99 usd
If you didn't buy it yet, it's cheaper on the companies website.
When changing from gameplay to cutscene is there any black screen delay like bitfunx or retro prism ??
You mean like with the OSSC when the resolution changes? I can't say I've noticed, really, if there is.

It's more about how well the HDMI adapter works with 50hz. Many PAL GameCube games don't have a 60hz option.

It's £40 on the manufacturer website just now

Can I use the Kaico for the Snes, they do have the same kabel right? :)
Fraid not. It only works on GameCubes with the Digital Out port.
