Does this auto start once connected or do you need to press the mode button? I'm looking to make this a permanent install in a camper and would like to connect the mains and not have to get into the van to activate the charge process. Thanks.

I appoligize on delay I'm reply...
I'm not sure if you have found the answer elsewhere already or not but I do believe it remembers the last selected mode and would start charging in that situation. It should work for what you are looking to do with it.
That being said I can check tonight when I get home to ensure that is the process of the charger.
If you wired the direct mount harness to a dedicated location to access from outside you could then plug the main unit into the quick disconnect and then into a 120v plug when needed if you do have to use the mode button.
Stay tuned and I will hopefully have more info soon.
      Thank you for your support

My charger has the rings, how can I connect quick connect to both sides, ?

When you mention your charger has the "rings" are you referring to the battery terminal rings that are visible after removing the "Clamps" from the main charger wire? If so you would connect those to the battery terminal on your vehicle/battery and then the quick disconnect would be the clip further down the wire as seen in the episode.
You would then always leave those rings connected tot he car and when needing to charge you would connect the charger to the end piece.
If you use the charger on multiple vehicles you can also purchase a secondary wire/clamp then you don't need to keep removing it from your battery. links in the description for those products.
Now if I completely miss understood your question I apologize and if possible if you could provide me with more detail I will try again.

Does it start charging when plugged into grid power or do you have to press the mode button.

Hello, thanks for reaching out! I appoligize on the delay.
I do believe it remembers the last activated mode. Normally I just plug it in and don't think to much of it. That being said I will check tonight to be sure if you are required to choose the mode everytime or if it does Remember the last active mode. It is a great question.
      Stay tuned...

Can you shut the trunk while the noco is in use?

Thanks for reaching out, I hope you enjoyed the episode and please consider subscribing and leaving a thumbs up if you haven't already!
Regarding your question, yes you can. All I recommend is to be sure it is not in the way of the latch and do not slam the trunk closed. Align the cable in the location you want, then slowly close the trunk and push down to latch.
I have been using this method for the last 6onths of storage. (Checking every so often, requing opening and closing of trunk) and have no issues or damage to the charger wires or trunk lid paint. You could also lay a microfiber cloth between the wire and paint of the trunk for extra protection.
Hope this helps and appreciate you reaching out and support to the channel. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out!
