I feel like they missed a gag that they had set up earlier (in Space Babies ?) where the Doctor explained that the TARDIS was disguised as a police box because they were common in the 1960s. They should have had police boxes everywhere. I was expecting them to get into the wrong one by accident at some point during the episode.
There actually was originally going to be a scene where that was going to happen but it was cut and RTD doesn't know why he cut it in retrospect. And yeah, I wish it was kept!
As a former drag performer myself, I totally get what Jinkx gets to embody. It's a performance art where you get to quite literally wear someone else's skin. It's a completely different skillset from stage or screen acting. We've all got cultural baggage that we wear everyday; and simply by playing with gender; drag dismantles all that. Is it campy? Yes. But is Doctor Who supposed to represent reality, or push its boundaries? I'm on board with wherever this story arc is going. (And thank you for making this available outside of the UK!)
@@TheDoctorWhoDon yes im aware, Confidential used to be on ABC1 back in the day here though and with the show off fta now we lost the bts stuff all together it seems, thankful for the reuploads
Chicago … Little Shop of Horrors … Doctor Who … three incredible performances. This is the hat trick for Jinkx Monsoon, and I couldn’t be happier!! Excuse the pun, but I don’t want to jinx it 😉 - and doubt that I could! I think this may crack the acting book of fame wide open in Jonkx’s case. So happy for her, and so well-deserved! Next stop, EGOT!! 💜
4:37 HAHAHAHA. After seeing the wonderful villain performance, seeing the Doctor and Maestro flossing was NOT on my list of things to expect behind the scenes HAHAHA
The way Jinx changes that voice from funny calm to FUCKING DEMONIC,its great but also reminds me that there are so many crazies out there like that!! Jinx pulls it off well for the character, but here in reality man thats known as MAD DEMENTIA!!🤯🤣😂🤷♂️✌️🥃
The real Paul McCartney did write a song, about a dog. His Old English Sheepdog Martha. Martha My Dear on the White Album. ❤ If you want to here some good Beatles parodies, listen to the songs the late great Neil Innes wrote for The Rutles. They sound like the real thing, because he did four track recordings, but they are also hilarious. Jinkx was absolutely amazing and terrifying as Maestro.
“She was the dua lipa of pop” Isn’t the dua lipa of pop just…. Dua lipa? lol with that expression, you’re supposed to say something that doesn’t fit… That’s why you say the “of” part at the end. “She’s the Michael Jordan of pop” or “He’s the Mozart of rap”…. See what I mean? Otherwise you would just say something like “she was the Dua Lipa of the 1960s” 😂 Sorry. Otherwise loved the video - very good!
1964 John Lennon didn't wear glasses while out in public or performing, so that's a major error, 3 years too early, even the tiniest bit of research would have shown that.
@@janf.2323 His last pair of glasses which appear on Yoko's album dedicated posthumously to John, were blue NHS frames from the seventies and eighties. My pairs were the same frame. So he must have taken them to the US with him.
I personally didn't mind it, I wasn't expecting it, but I think it would have been better if it was part of the actual plot of the episode like the goblin song.
@@TheDoctorWhoDon I think it kind of is (whilst still being slightly meta) - RTD explained that the song and dance number is like music erupting back into the world once Maestro has been banished

I read somewhere that this was actually a cut scene! 15 and Ruby were supposed to run into an empty police box and be very confused 😂
@@Bread_LMthey should have kept that
It would have been funny if Ncuti stepped out, looked behind him and went "finally, it fits its surroundings"
I remember that was thing in the lion, the witch and the wardrobe episode

Thanks for sharing. I'm not in UK but want to watch these so you make it possible
Glad to help, I will continue to upload them, as the series goes on!

Same! Canadian here.

I actually love these villains.
Jinx made the character, couldn't stop watching it.
I love a villain that laughs

Imo drag is the epitome of human artistic expression. The body as the canvas. A living sculpture. Living art.
Pantheon of Chaos it is.
THANK YOU why are these not on Disney+ too ffs, love from Aus
It's not on D+ as it is not funded by Disney, it is holy BBC funded, so is then an iPlayer / UK exclusive.

Look for Jinkx Monsoon Sings Everything on here. Her live show in NY about 8 yrs ago. She's brilliant

❤❤❤❤ loved it❤❤❤❤
Tonaly the show feels RTD crossed with Moffat, more than RTD's first time Which I like, because The 11th Hour was my 1st Doctor Who.
Love how they managed a Betals episode and explain why their where no Betals songs
i think the shot at 6:01 was sooo much better than the one we got in the final thing! adds so much more camp to it.
My GOSH THANNK YOU!!!
Thank you ❤
For a company that individualized Marvel Studios Assembled, I'm still confused why Disney didn't pick up Unleashed
Maybe, they wanted to see how well the show it's self would do on D+ before picking up spin-off's?
Because its funded solely by the BBC. They did the same with Doctor Who Confidential. Its exclusive to the uk

I don't think that the beatles looking exactly like their real-life counterparts, was a top priority.
He was also very short sighted, twice as bad as I am...very thick lenses, almost blind without them.
There also wasnt the very essence of music personified feeding off the music of humanity Mike.
He didn't wear those glasses until 1966. He wore Buddy Holly style glasses in the studio. Plenty of photos of him like that.

The Song at the end ruined the episode for me other then that I enjoyed it actually
Really? It elevated the episode for me.... (just an observation)

@PootPootMagoot yeah, that makes sense. Either way, I liked it.
Was there something in the plot that meant that they looked literally nothing like the Beatles?
No, but maybe, just maybe, it's because, …they're not the Beatles, …just a thought
