Whirlwind has always been low key the best art in the game. It's free and does chip damage on block. People forget about it cause it's the first one we get.
Been playing with the weapon wheel mod so I can use multiple combat arts at the same time. I pretty much end every move with an additional whirlwind slash. Whirlwind slash is probably the best move you learn from owl canonically.
I am sure Joe knows, so this is just for others: How Bestowal works. (Red)Bestowal works by "adding" an extra attack per sword slash. Unlike say sugars which works via multiplier effect. Meaning that bestowal gives more yield with fast attacks than slow attacks(e.g ichimonji double, thrust). Whereas sugars are just multipliers, so they scale the same amount between whatever you use.
