    The guy saying Kamiya was stealing other people's ideas is either stupid or must not play a lot of PG's games because a ton of them are heavily influenced by DMC and Bayo. That guy was probably trolling but I was seeing people who genuinely believed Kamiya was contributing nothing to PG after he left.
    And you guys wonder why he loves to block us.

    I want to say that I have respected you and your work for a long time! When I was in elementary school I made a presentation about my two favorite game designers and you were one of them. Unfortunately my dreams of becoming one didn't work out, but I still follow your work. I hope you will give us more fresh ideas when you come back to the industry ❤

    Now I'm curious about where Kamiya learned English, his pronunciation's great. I remember him saying before on Twitter years ago he didn't go to school for it but he didn't elaborate.

    I'm happy you vary up your gameplay so much between each title, it makes each of them interesting even after the next one comes out. It's surprising that you start with a vibe and decide on the gameplay later - the gameplay mechanics are so tight that it feels like those came first, even if all the games have a strong personality too.

    Bayonetta and Devil May Cry are connected somehow..
    Both Main Characters of Devil May Cry 5 and Bayonetta 3 met similar fates..
    - Dante and Vergil are Trapped in Hell
    - Bayonetta and Luka are trapped in Hell too
    - Nero is left on earth
    - Viola is left on earth
    Is it possible for these characters to meet?
    It would be the wildest ride ever.

    Mr. Kamiya, could you talk more about the Dodge Offset mechanic in Bayonetta 1?
    It seems that Dodge Offset is much more important than Witch Time when I play Non-Stop Infinite Climax difficulty.
    Also, the perspective in TW101 deserves more praise because it means that rough camera behaviour cannot interrupt the controller inputs of both sticks when I draw a shape or do combos.
    Lastly, I like that you included a large variety of gameplay sections in TW101 (like the Punch-Out one and others). It reminded me of the PS2 era, when some games also did this.

    Mr. Kamiya's games often include segments with a different gameplay style. (like Space Harrier sections in Bayonetta or Wonderful 101) I was curious what the motivation behind these sections was? Are they a way to pay tribute or homage classic games? Or is it that juxtaposition or sudden shift in gameplay styles, itself, that Kamiya finds appealing?

    How do you make such 'cool' characters? Bayonetta and Dante have such great personalities, and that's not even mentioning the side characters. What is your process, or influences, in making such likeable characters that leave such an impression?

    I'll keep asking this question as long as it takes: *why did Wonder-Jergingha's wonder-mask malfunction ? And why did he decide to kill Luka for it, of all people ? Was this supposed to be a plot point for the sequel ? I know you love Terminator-style time-related shenanigans. Was it supposed to be future Luka who sabotaged the Wonder Mask technology in such a way it will eventually break on Jergingha ?*
    That would've been soooo awesome !

    What is your opinion on Macedonian? The Ed n Edna in Bayo seems to be decided from this langage... Also, W101 was a game with a lot of strong emotions, thank you from the bottom of my heart of a father fighting against parental alienation.

    (I am sorry if this has been asked before.)
    Have you heard about the PS2 2004 holiday demo disc?
    Appearently the Viewtiful Joe 2 Demo had debug code in it, that would reset the memory card when playing.
    I am sure this was because the demo send over, was a game build where save files were tested and a snapshot was sent to the demo-disc team without bug-testing.
    I am wondering if this "bug report" was ever sent back to the dev/staff back in the day.

    What are your views on the game "Anarchy Reigns"? I was surprised a game like this existed and first thought it was a crossover game of protagonists from platinum games library with Bayonetta's inclusion. I did not know of it until years after and I did not have an opportunity to play it . Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be available on any of the new generation of consoles or PC. I think the art direction of the original Mad World on the wii was so amazing to first see run on my TV when I was younger with its "Sin City" comic aesthetic

    I'm a newbie when it comes to boardgame design, but I tend to not think of the logic first. I tend to think of how I want my pieces to move and interact with each other and then add rules and limitations to balance it and to keep the tempo engaging. That said, I feel like balancing a boardgame is way harder than balancing an action game or even a fighting game, and there's been dozens of ideas that I've scrapped.

    Mr. Kamiya, what are your feelings about companies retiring franchises? It is common to see annual releases or remakes from select franchises like Monster Hunter and Resident Evil, but Onimusha hasn't had a new game since the PS2 and it is far from the only one (I.E. Mega Man, Darkstalkers, Power Stone, and Breath Of Fire). The Japanese market used to be a constant source of new and creative games, but now it is mostly "safe" and "same." From a western perspective, Japanese companies have stopped being innovative and creative compared to how they used to be, and I don't understand why.
    I am focusing on Capcom because I know that you can not say much about Platinum / have not directly worked for the other big companies.

    Hello Kamiya and happy new year, interesting video.
    But i’d ask, is great idea for part of Nintendo, Capcom or any company ask dlc of paid in a single player as your own games for satisfy to the fans?
    Many ask if Platinum games someday make DLC and season expansion with tons of stuff to their games, would be cool because we know you and platinum games are GENIUS making hack/slash like from software with action with high difficulty.
    I respect the ideas original from the devs pioneers whose invented a genre

    Games are so complex now they take a really long time to make. When I heard your lattest news I though "wow, I probably won't see a new Kamiya game in 6 or 7 years then" since AAA are such long projects. Do you see yourself working on a smaller game next or are you willing to put several years of work into a big project?

    8:55 Of all the things you could say about Kamiya-san, him only being good at stealing other people's ideas is probably the most ridiculous. All his games have been highly original. Even RE2 actually changed quite a bit of what RE was supposed to be\perceived as at that point in time. I keep dreaming of seeing at least a brief video of the original RE4 build of DMC some day. Capcom should really just show those unmade RE games (OG RE3, the various RE4s, OG Revelations, the canned RE7 etc.): the fans know about them, they are not a real secret.

    Ok so is witch time boosting her speed or is it slowing down time. Her slowing down time would make sense, When angels broke out of witch time in the first game made it look like time control. If it wasn't time control, that means the angels were using witch time and was the same speed as bayo.
    Lightspeed would also be time stopping rather than speeding up because him speeding himself up would not make bayonetta's bullets stop.

      If you're talking about you shooting and bullets stopping for both you and the guy you're shooting at it just means you both are faster than the bullets.

    You seem to heavily value arcade design philosophy in your games, with newer generations of developers spending less or no time in arcades did you ever urge those that worked with you to play the classics to understand how those games were designed or were you more interested in seeing how a designer's ideas were influenced by the titles on consoles they played when they were younger?     do you think there is still market or future of linear pure action hack and slash games? nowadays soul like arpg game is more popular. Only God of war (2018) made it out as an arpg but without loss too much old factors, also sold well

    Hi master Kamiya san I saw an article where he says that he wants to work in the video game industry again. He hasn't asked for a job at Microsoft to bring back the Scalebound game now that Xbox needs talented Japanese developers and you are one of them and I admire your games. 🫶🏻
