    • @SpacemanXC
      @SpacemanXC 4 года назад +5

      I play guitar and this is such a weird comment. Playing the guitar itself does take talent. But using high gain doesn't magically make you better. Its for a specific sound. Try playing thrash metal with no gain. You could be the most talented guitarist in the world and it still woulnd't sound like thrash metal.
      Also, Alvin is using cranked(everything turned to 10) Marshall 100 watt amps here. Which is the 1969 version of using high gain. Cranking an old marshall over drives the tubes, which creates the distorted sound you hear in this video. The lighter he hits the strings, the cleaner the sound. The harder he hits them, the harder the crunch.
      You comment should be something more like, "wow, I fucking love blues rock and Alvin is a God at it."

    • @skidco1
      @skidco1 4 года назад +4

      @@SpacemanXC I play guitar as well. Yes, I know he is exploiting the valves in his amp. I also known that heavy distortion/gain can disguise poor technique and mistakes. I'm simply saying that the sound is relatively clean compared to today and that there are no hiding places and his talent shines through.
