An excellent video, Brosnan did drive an Aston, the Vanquish with the invisibility cloak in die another day, Roger Moore was the bond that never drove an Aston
My brother had the job of replacing all the lights and bulbs that were shot out after the filming of Tomorrow Never Dies in that Brent Cross car park. He often tells people that he had a key role in a Bond film :)
Regarding the SPY plated Aston. I regret admitting to knowing this, but - according to his Twitter - Jamiroquai went to the premiere as well and seemingly went in his DB5, registration SPY288C, so possibly his. Don't all you showbiz types know what motors you all have (inc. registrations) and each others' location at any given time, on the basis that you all live in one big happy house together? Yours truly, the SAAB detective....
I'm not particularly drawn to jaaaaaaags normally but that XF Sportbrake at 30:50 does make me rather weak in the knees! Love how the Bond theme started to fall apart as it just turned into two well-dressed gentlemen car spotting in London, brilliant 😄
Just flipping through your back catalogue, as it were, and I must say this was a very enjoyable lark. Obviously the podcast is great and all that, and Jonny does have the Flaky Hake Show here on youtube which is also rather good, but I'd love it if semi-occasionally Smith & Sniff were filmed, too!
I grew up on that street with the Jags and Amazon on it, moved away in 2007. That Volvo has been there at least since I was born in the early 90s. I remember it being more rusty but nice to see that it’s been patched up. Was well chuffed to see that it had survived when I went back in the summer!
Laughed at Steve parrish the Crystal Palace owner looking straight into the camera at the end. Superb video guys, buzzing to have you both back together on video. P.S. Brosnan had an Aston in Die another day- the ‘invisible’ Vanquish
Fridays are back to normal again... I hope this happens fairly regularly. Although the production quality is slightly too high now! :) Thanks, we have been waiting for a long time for one of these, and it didn't disappoint.
Living daylights was also the first bond film I saw at the cinema. Fun fact...the Harrier in that film (ZB602, later sold to the Indian navy) I got a back seat ride in when I was 17 at a cadet camp at RAF Wittering...bloody awesome!
This episode is music to my eyes/ears as a car nerd, former north London resident and 20th-century architecture obsessive. Top work lads - so good to see you back in a car together. ALSO - I know where you could've found a Z8 - Swiss Cottage area! At one point, you were but a few hundred metres from it.
That was sheer genius, thanks guys and keep it going, you were on top form…and always best when you go out in your imagination…Tom Jones starting a jet engine, literally laughed out loud 🤣🤣🤣
Chaps, amazing production! Your 'behind the baked beans' team are legends. The best bit was Richards face on the red carpet, you can see the excitement on his face. He looked like he'd just done a bag of boutros in one sniff! Awesome!!
Can you imagine if one of the owners of the cars you were admiring saw you two Men In Black near his car ? He'd probably think he was about to have his bottom probed and then have his memory flash wiped.
There was actually a James Bond Porsche, when EA had the exclusive rights to James Bond games and the exclusive rights to Porsches in games, there was a Porsche Cayenne Turbo in the game Everything or Nothing, which was the last time Pierce Brosnan played Bond.
Great episode! Bond and Car! Someone else might have mentioned this but Brosnan did get an old Aston in Goldeneye and maybe another but they were BMW dominate.
Love seeing the boys back in a car, Richard’s singing made me think of bond car name/film title mashups: thunderbirdball yugo to a kill Dr noldsmobile I’m sure there’s loads of others
Yelling at the screen to remind you Pierce did have one Aston; the Mk1 Vanquish ("Vanish") in Die Another Day. I wish I'd blanked that movie from my memory. Lovely to see you two back together!
36:03 That 2cv on a driveway in Notting Hill that Rich has a "vague memory" of was mine haha. It spent a good three years parked on westbourne grove until I moved during the pandemic. Sorry guys, had I known you were looking for one I'd have planted it there in waiting. (There is another one permanently street parked on the steep bit of Ladbroke Grove though, bad luck)
Love the fact London has cars permanently parked up in areas for years , I was down that way a month back ended up playing ev bingo as didn't see that many but did see an sm actually rarer than the two Ferraris In front of it .
@@smithandsniff rarely see any 2cvs nowadays but I have actually seen two sms this year one locally and one in central London . Any bond car links to the sm?
Morning all, just about to start watching a delightful surprise video from the pair of you - really hope we get to hear Mr Porter's excellent impression of Sir Roger Moore 🤞🏻😁
Brosnan did drive an Aston Vanquish - the invisible ice chase one in Die Another Day. There is also a Porsche in the same film - it’s one of the baddies car collection that gets shot up. #sadgeek
So good to have a Smith and Sniff video again! I can't help wanting to start a petition to have Burly Chassis and Tom Jones blow a low wall over now.. Nice shots of a van belonging to the company my Mrs works for too.. Excellent product placement there :-D
This was mega. Just great to see two mates with an excuse to muck about for a day. The excitement on the red carpet was great to see. What about the Goldfinger building eh...? Brilliant nerd fact. Love it. The Bond car spotting was fun but OTSOT why did Bond never have a Cossie...?
I was taking part in a Zoom call the other day with some work colleagues. One chap is from Bristol and when he spoke, he would regularly add "on that side of things" into a sentence. Hilarious!
I've been out in the pissing rain all day working and all that. But it's all been worth it to come home and enjoy this on a Friday afternoon. Thanks guys.
My first exposure to a Bond car was as a toddler in 1971, my parents took me to see the DB5, which was on some sort of tour, and my dad asked if his son could sit in the car. Great vid chaps.👍
Bloody brilliant. I'd like to think the owner of that Jag looked out his window and wondered why two suited and booted blokes were looking at their car!
I was hopeful for a Renault fuego turbo, preferably with jenny flex still in it from " view t' kill" or the rolls royce silver shadow coupe mulliner Park ward, that everyone thinks was a corniche. From On her majesty's secret service .Loving your work gents. !!! 👍👍👏👏
You were both like excited children on that red carpet! I would have been too frankly - hugely enjoyable episode lads, great to see you in a cabin together again.
You've jogged my memory. When ever I used to hear Gladys Knight singing "Licence to Kill" theme song it sounded like "Gotta licence to KILT!" and I used to think of "Timotie" Dalton wearing a Kilt!
Love this! Nothing to do with cars but for anyone interested (there won’t be, I’m sure!), the house on the corner at 20:43 is the same place Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard lived in in the film Allied.
Guys guys , listen; it’s great to have you back on video. Was gonna comment in an adenoidal voice on the Brosnan/Aston thing but others beat me to it. Damn !
That U Boat is fucking massive but Jonny carries it off really well, I can't make out Richard's watch but it looks a bit like a JLC Ultra Thin. Nice to see you guys back on video
Wooho0. Great to have you back in this format chaps, could watch hours of you two just driving around talking bollocks and cars. Hats off to Rich for managing to drive around busy London, with all its wonderful drivers and roadworks and still be entertaining and funny. I descend into furious, red faced, sweary ball of rage any time i go near the place....on that side of things. thanks guys.
The geeky comradry and connection is priceless, I bet the wife’s are watching this thinking I wouldn’t get that much effort put into a date night for me ha ha
That bottle of Brut. Some things are just part of the Smith & Sniff lore now.
Decent amount of palming from Rich, OTSOT. 👍
Lordy, a video with stuff moving on screen! And it's not a Monday! Saints be praised 😃
To quote Alan Partridge ‘Stop getting Bond wrong’! 😆
DB10 pushes the Fiat 500; Pierce drives the DB5 at the start of Goldeneye
I love Richard’s prep for this. Proper.
New films aside, it’s just really nice to see you both together again; suitably anoraking about Bond and cars.
An excellent video, Brosnan did drive an Aston, the Vanquish with the invisibility cloak in die another day, Roger Moore was the bond that never drove an Aston
Yes John Cleese had taken over and called it "The Vanish ". Even Brosnan later admitted the special effects were OTT lol
My brother had the job of replacing all the lights and bulbs that were shot out after the filming of Tomorrow Never Dies in that Brent Cross car park. He often tells people that he had a key role in a Bond film :)
The band is back together on vid! Brill!!
Cheers guys, that was great fun. 'No time to Park, it's Outside an Embassy somewhere.'
It's like putting your fave pair of compy slippers on after they've been lost in the loft for 2 yrs. 😁
This is my favourite analogy.

Daniel Craig next to you in the bogs, scrubbing Wagamamas of his tie. You turn to him and say, "Pad Tie?"
I'm not particularly drawn to jaaaaaaags normally but that XF Sportbrake at 30:50 does make me rather weak in the knees! Love how the Bond theme started to fall apart as it just turned into two well-dressed gentlemen car spotting in London, brilliant 😄
I must admit it had me getting the phone out to check the classifieds. Very nice.
Yeah they look great, we didn't get the shooting brake out here, love a nice shagging wagon, Rj in Oz
@@matgee8892 Did exactly the same thing... Lovely looking car!
Great to see you both arsing around on screen again. “Leather soles, like slicks in the rain” 🤣
I hope Richard puts this much thought into date night with his wife 😂
Good stuff gents 👌

I'm loving the podcasts but bring back videos!
finally, the boys are back, I guess we need a new bond movie every fortnight since that's what it took for em to grace our screens.
I grew up on that street with the Jags and Amazon on it, moved away in 2007. That Volvo has been there at least since I was born in the early 90s. I remember it being more rusty but nice to see that it’s been patched up. Was well chuffed to see that it had survived when I went back in the summer!
Glad to report that the Porsche Cayenne Turbo was one of the main Bond cars in the early 2000's videogame "Everything or Nothing".
I loved how Q charmingly referred to the BMW seven hundred and fifty
Worst edition of carpool karaoke yet! Though James Corden is looking well. Brilliant to see Mr Wint and Mr Kidd back together making videos!
Laughed at Steve parrish the Crystal Palace owner looking straight into the camera at the end. Superb video guys, buzzing to have you both back together on video.
P.S. Brosnan had an Aston in Die another day- the ‘invisible’ Vanquish
Come ON you two call yourselves car journalists? STOP GETTING BOND WRONG
Fantastic editing synchronisation at 35.27 with the indicator! DETAIL!!!!

I have missed the two blokes in a car talking random stuff video, the podcast is excellent but S&S eating lunch in a petrol station is a treat.
Can you imagine if one of the owners of the cars you were admiring saw you two Men In Black near his car ? He'd probably think he was about to have his bottom probed and then have his memory flash wiped.
Great to see S&S back in to Vlog saddle, proper BO I tell thee.
There was actually a James Bond Porsche, when EA had the exclusive rights to James Bond games and the exclusive rights to Porsches in games, there was a Porsche Cayenne Turbo in the game Everything or Nothing, which was the last time Pierce Brosnan played Bond.
Back at last. I have to say that ai follow quite a few channels but this has to be the best film of the year.
Its good to see you guys together again, and brilliant game, will the bingo sheet be available as a download :D
It's on their Patreon, pal
Thanks
Great episode! Bond and Car! Someone else might have mentioned this but Brosnan did get an old Aston in Goldeneye and maybe another but they were BMW dominate.
Brosnan also had the Vanquish vs the jag on ice

Perfect, thanks chaps! On that side of things.

Well that was excellent chaps, thank you. I’d be out playing Bond Car Bingo right now if I had any petrol.

Ohhhhh yea. Dammit! Richard
And a DB5 chasing a Ferrari 355!

Anybody else get a pang of nostalgia back to the very first Smith & Sniff vid that had one when they were nerding-out about the XJR 575?
This was mega. Just great to see two mates with an excuse to muck about for a day. The excitement on the red carpet was great to see. What about the Goldfinger building eh...? Brilliant nerd fact. Love it. The Bond car spotting was fun but OTSOT why did Bond never have a Cossie...?
Ah its so good to see you guys back. As much as im loving the podcasts, I really do miss these videos.
Glorious, glorious Smith and Sniff.
Couldn't help but notice the significant amount of palming!
Left field suggestion: Johnny's watch collection.
Another great vid from the 'Ant & Dec' of automotive content!
The stop watch!! Great to see you two back in vision. And a bottle of Brut for good measure. No Lotus Esprit....

On that side of Brizzol
Renault 11 spotted yesterday in SW London 💪
Excellent a Smith n sniff on a Friday , no Renault fuego on the list though , very rare even rare than an eleven .
I don't know what i enjoyed more - a meander around London or an invite to the red carpet with you both. Epic content!
Lovely work chaps, but no literal ticking off the list - no gadget pen?
Meant to bring one of those massive bingo hall pens. Forgot. Bah! Richard
Don’t forget Pierce drove an invisible Vanquish in Die Another Day!
So good to see a video again...on that side of things
That was brilliant! It's now on my list to be watched again and again! I hope Jonny still had time for a wee!
Guys,it is great to see you guys together again. Great programme, I feel a new leafy London Chod hunting again.
Bloody brilliant chaps. Bloody brilliant...
A video for my eyes rather than a podcast for my ears only.
What a smile-a-mile vid !! Thanks lads 👏😄.

Ed China and now this. I'm impressed. Love your work chaps.
Majestic content, lads. I feel the need for a pilgrimage to the Goldfinger bench.
I don't need to watch anymore.- there is no way it gets any better after the Goldfinger bit. Fucking brilliant!
Well done, lads. This might be my favourite episode of the podcast to date.
Great to see you both back on RUclips and great video as all ways👍
Me screaming at my phone when the lads say PB never drove an Aston…
“vanquish, Vanquish, VANQUISH!!!”
It’s probably a good thing I live alone…🤦🏼♂️😂
The big nosed guy in back of shot, right at the end, for some reason had me in stitches. Looking both confused and sinister.
He owns Crystal Palace football club.

Great vid chaps.👍
Bloody brilliant. I'd like to think the owner of that Jag looked out his window and wondered why two suited and booted blokes were looking at their car!
That was class, great idea. Your discussions of hypothetical scenarios are hilarious.
Excellent in the true tradition of Smith 'n' Sniff videos. That bloke behind you at 46:56 giving you the evil eye was perfect!
I was hopeful for a Renault fuego turbo, preferably with jenny flex still in it from " view t' kill" or the rolls royce silver shadow coupe mulliner Park ward, that everyone thinks was a corniche. From On her majesty's secret service .Loving your work gents. !!! 👍👍👏👏
