Normally watching someone paint would be as exciting as watching it dry. But from some reason it's interesting in the same way watching that guy in NYC clean incredibly dirty carpets and gets them to look new again. There's even a common expression he and others use. "Strangely satisfying.".
What a pretty back patio your pub has.
I do get fed up with people making remarks that cause you to feel you have to justify your jobs, actions, finance. Ignore them Phil, your life, your rules, I would love to see you go into there houses and telling them how to live there lives, you would be sent off with a flea in your ear or a boot up the backside. Enjoy your days doing what you want to do, when you want to do it and spend your money how you want too. Thanks for every vlog you do K🇬🇧❤️
Well said
Phil, if it were me reading anything negative from idiots, don't even talk about it in the vlogs....they don't deserve air time. You're a great young man who does a heck of a job and you make it interesting! I love the music in this one!
Glad you use old stuff, better to repair than buy new.
I like how frugal you're...Mend and make do, if only more people where like this. Good job Phil!
A lot of americans are like that. Two to poor buy new ! Make do or do without.
As a job I recycle old furniture and whatever else I can find and sell it as one of a kind usable art ❤️❤️🙌🫶down here in New Zealand
It is laudable that you are so mechanically talented, as well as mindful of your resources; ergo a great theme for your great videos! Much appreciate your variety and interesting subjects.
Thanks for another very enjoyable video, Phil! You are such an inspiration to us ALL with how well you deal with all the challenges and tasks in your life. The newly painted patio at the bar looks great!
Greetings Phil, I love your "do it yourself" attitude. Crack On !! Enjoy the rest of your week as well.😊
Dosent it just blow your mind that people will tune in just to watch you work ?😂😂😂
That wall looks great and will especially look better at night. Will you be adding a few strings of lights, too? Everyone will be out there on nice evenings!
We are here to cheer you on on the side line Phil for the next 6 weeks for your dead line, exciting. Have a great day.
Humidity is good for plants , but makes humans suffer.. courtyard looks great.. love the video and the 🎶 🎵 ❤❤❤❤
I really admire your attitude towards things that are old and/or broken but can be repaired. New machines can sometimes be more energy efficient but what's mostly ignored is that the production of new machines also takes lots of energy, so in the end sustainability can very well go hand in hand with cost efficiency for the owner.
Last year my husband did repairs and ended up painting the underside of the deck like you are doing on your mower, lots of work. Your beer garden/patio looks great! Lotta of hard work. Well done!
The white paint on the bar courtyard walls makes quite a difference. I appreciate that you tackle tasks rather than jobbing them out.
Wow! Nothing like keeping yourself Super busy if a Chateaus not enough. Throw in a Pub and a mower to be fixed, plus humid and rainy weather and a positive attitude things get done 👍
Phil there is nothing wrong with repairing what we already have. It’s wonderful to see you have the same attitude. Glad to see you back in the game again. Deborah 😊😊❤❤
You *will* get everything completed, Phil
because you have the right attitude, and mindset is everything.
Well... actually my T-shirt says 'context is everything'... but anyway. You got this 💪
Well done Phil, all your ducks in a row for leaping forward. You know you are up to the challenge. So do we👏👏❤❤
What a difference a coat of paint can make to tidy somewhere up
Nice bit of mig welding Phil I am sure all the tasks ahead of you will be completed ❤
Gee, Phil. Maybe one of your viewers that have endless funds will buy you a brand new mower, or two! People! 😮
While you're waiting for the new mower to arrive...some advice.
My Dad always said "do it right the 1st time and you won't have to do it again!" 😊
I'm all for mend and reuse, but I think a new mower deck is in order.
Brilliant Phil. Using what you’ve got and fixing it.
The bar courtyard is coming together, well done👍
I feel your pain with the rusty mower deck, after 5 years of playing chase the rust on ours we finally bought a replacement deck (the original deck was more patch than original). The courtyard looks wonderful with its fresh paint.
Glad to hear that you're getting a helper! I hope that it will give you the time to do the most important jobs without the weight of everything sitting on your shoulders. I have found a sort of freedom from having help and I can do the jobs I enjoy most. The hardest part was admitting to myself that I needed help. I've always been able to do it all myself, now I can make a list and hand it over. It's actually becoming quite enjoyable. Why don't you take off the mower blades while working on the mower? It seems like it would give you some working room and then you can also give them a good sharpening too. Anyway, you do you and keep doing it well!
We had 2 hot days now back to cold and wet here in Sussex, I think that was our summer!!
Your courtyard looks so great! The white paint really makes a difference.
The pub courtyard is looking fantastic.
Hey Phil time to call in some favours for a helping hand I think is called for. Good luck.
Courtyard spruce up looks great Phil! I think it is fantastic that you repair, recycle and reuse machinery, cars etc. God’s speed with your “to do” list. 🙏❤️
Hi, Phil! I've seen where you can use a thicker piece of copper, hold it behind the smaller holes you need to mend and weld away. You'll be able to build up the layers and the copper won't stick to it and will fall away for re-use. My two cents. Loving the content and the patio at the bar is going to look like such a great place for a tipple.
Goodness Phil , Your Not Afraid Of Work, I’m Really Hoping You Will Get This Sorted,And Work,
For you Your Incredible 👍👌👏👏👏👏👏👏
Philippe le méticuleux, Philippe ne jette rien et refait du neuf avec du vieux ! Bravo ❤
Just going out and buying a new mower is so 180º not you Phil, it makes me laugh. People that think that of you have, obviously, not been watching you very long. Thanks for fixing up any, and all of the things you can. There’s already too much junk in the world. ❤
You seem to have a twinkle in your eyes again. 👍🏻
Rooting for you to get everything on your list done. Cheers.
Wow! Busy! Busy!
I love your logical and very reasonable approach to life. Make do with what you have and make do with what you’re able to do.
There is no challenge or growth and simply buying something, and of course, when you have a RUclips channel, buying a new lawnmower wouldn’t make for really great content haha
Keep on keeping on Phil.
I love seeing you succeed Phil! 😍
Nice compost in that mower !😂😂😂
If you know how to fix things, I think you should try to fix. Nice job restoring the lawn mower
Looking good 👍🤗 🍻
Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
I think that mower had surgery and spa day all in one afternoon.
For that bedroom furniture, like the larger bedside tables but your bed needs to be higher It seems to small for that room because the room is so high Maybe a platform under the bed of some sort . Love watching you blog.
You are jack of all trades.
Hi Phil, talk about a man on a mission and a tight deadline. Wonderful to see you all hyped up and raring to go 😄 Keep it up but don’t forget to smell the coffee and drink some wine. Stay strong.
Cheers Judith 🦋
Well now , that was a lovely clean job wasn’t it Phil 😂 ( but ya did it didn’t ya)
Patio on the pub is looking fresh.
Love your style ….mending is my favourite thing to do with furniture 😊 and then I paint it to sell ❤️😁😇
Its amazing what a lick of white paint can do. ❤
Good for you, getint the Jobs done and not getting rid of they old if you can fix it because it's easier!
As well as all your other talents Phil, you are a Mr fix it too, which is so useful. Thank you for this video Phil, and your freshened up outside bar area looks so lovely now. xxx
You should hire Michael Pethrick to paint an amazing mural on the white wall!
Just take a deep breath, you will get there. Oh and a beer couldn't hurt.
Can we get this man a mower.
I can relate to the weather woes. We went on vacation to Colorado and it was too wet to mow our 12 acres before we left. Now, back in Texas they had a massive rain storm while we were gone. The weeds are three foot tall and it is still to wet to mow. Raining again in two days. Aah, Mother Nature!
Always enjoy seeing your videos.. even if you are repairing machinery 😊
Hey Phil, maybe you could try one of the many Belzona products (e.g. Blezona 1111 Supermetal) to fill the smaller holes in the mower deck?
Phil, the courtyard looks nice all fresh on it. You will get that lawnmower going soon. Best of luck and good weather to meet your deadline.
Hello! Gotta love Mother Nature😊
Yep Phil, good thinking! Everything at its Time! and as the saying goes, "Why replace 'it' if it aint broken", or 'completely broken ; )) .
I totally agree... Fix what you have . And always if you can , fix it yourself..
Since I've owned my 123 year old house I have learned how to plum( with pex of course) , wire , carpentry,( including finishing) , stonework , concrete, tiling , roofing . All because it's cheaper for me to do and money saved goes into my house...
Well, lots to do ,time management is in order.
Have you ever heard of welders, Sleeves to weld in hot weather and ware a tee shirt 👕 .
I was thinking of burns from the uv light not sparks .
MIGs are good for a burns on arms and neck lol.
Good video Phil. Loved the music😍
Things will be done when they're done one step at a time. Great to see things repaired rather than thrown away ❤
Good job!
❤❤❤❤❤
WOW!!! GREAT job Phil👍
Paint looks great Phil. Consider getting vining plants (clematis), a bush or two and some flowers with twinkle lights. You can make a courtyard very inviting with little money and a lot of creativity. ❤
Wisteria ❤
Or a couple of vines, grapes...France and all. ❤
Good going Phil! You’ve got your work laid out for you! It would be nice to see the mower shiny and like new , and ready to do its job.
What about small chest of drawers each side of the bed? Nicola
Hi Phil….. you’ve got a lot of stuff to do on your list. You did a good job at the bar courtyard. That overhead structure, will you need to stain that same as the wood panelled walls?
The machine you’re repairing is getting to look better. I think the grass cutting you could pay someone to do that. It’s so time consuming. Sometimes you have to spend a few quid to get ahead and to keep your stress levels low. Money is a tool if you like. Anyway, you’re amazing and getting along just fine. Keep us posted. Still love that music 👏 🏃♀️➡️ things waiting to happen Phil worldwide. Any day now. 🔜
Nice goin Phil, really liked the back courtyard area. 4:38in Geez I wouldn't like to see your diary bloke. Beginning to think I had it easier doin 24/7 oncall 100-120 week most weeks of the 52 in the year. Nice goin m8, your doin well. Keep up the good work, say G'day to Lightning please and stay vertical bloke Eh!
Lots of old landrover rusted panels as doner for the mower deck attack the good bits, treat and repaint like the chipper that tree still there!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sounds like a new summer schedule do everything out of the heat. Glad you have found your enthusiasm for getting jobs done is back. 😊 You are on 🔥 you might have to save up for another lawn mower in the near future as that one looks like you are going to be spending to much time e and money fixing it. Sometimes you have to draw the line at repeatedly fixing something as it becomes un productive. Hope having a helper works out for you?! 😊
❤
I know money is money and I'm like you & like to fix fixable items, however I personally think you nay have to bite the bullet & but a recond pump for the chipper as I'm not sure you can weld it and of you do,not sure how long would last. Think it looks like cast Alloy maybe & not sure if hold up to the pressure but awesome for you if you can. Just my opinion & hope you prove me wrong. Take care.
Looking terrific Phil! What a difference!
Just let the grass grow, better for the insects and can look nice. Better than just be constantly mowing and fixing broken mowers and not doing the stuff that really matters.
I've noticed the fab new music, it sounds like Daniel Mead & The Flying Mules, could I be right???
It looks like the forest is creeping in your shop by Billy's Range Rover trying to reclaim it 😆🤣 lol
Well done the wall looks terrific🎉 you just need to crack on the repairs, you have the knowledge, chop chop😂
The old stuff is best. And if you can repair all the better.
It’s great that you can get a hold of machinery that is still good but just suffer from lack of regular maintenance. You’re a whiz at fixing it and you have the tools and space to do so. You also know the “cost break point” at which it’s more cost effective to replace rather than repair. I’ve seen others who don’t get that and spend crazy amounts on things that cost more to fix than replace in the name of “tinkering”. I’m showing them this video.😊
Well done Phil?
Thank you for the video Phil! and updates
Phil where can I get a wide thin trim brush like you used? The walls look great!
Don't forget to sharpen the blades that will help tremendously
Working on repairs all summer??? That sounds really familiar. Good luck my friend!
Great job on the painting of the court yard. Working on the mower hmmm... let see if there is a way to fashion a cover plate for the blades??? My idea: a 55 gallon drum cut off both ends and possibly use them? Modify them to hold all the working parts there would be a minimal amount of welding but not to the extent you are doing now and it would last a bit longer. Sort of like what you did to the fire pit fashion one. Just an idea. Have a great day and as Billy would say "crack on" lol
Phil, can you get Michael Petheric to paint some views of your Chateau. It could be used to fund work at your home if he made copies like he does at their Chateau to fund raise.
Today's opening alone had 2 great spots that should be painted in water color at least.
Phil do they sell bondo in France? Could you not use that to repair the mower deck??
I would still put some clear corrugated up there on patio roof for rainy days so people can sit out or not get burned when they do. Better certainly than the bamboo stuff that was there before. The walls look great :) I did ask someone about your Maserati issue if he does answer most likely will himself as sent him direct. I hope you are able to figure out the design for the mower underside I would wish you could just buy that part though but hey you are a great welder Phil :)
I call it spring upkeep, lol. Yes, when you have to start mowing, your tools and equipment need to be working correctly. My motto is if you can fix it and it can be fixed, fix it, d9nt buy new. Hugs see ya next time! Hugs from Texas!
👋👍❤️
Why aren't you just forming sheet metal to cover the rusted out areas and rivet it in place? It would take 1/10 of the time spent welding. You could be taking flying lessons. 😀
Couple of reasons…
First one you are just hiding the issue and it will continue to rust out of sight. It will look terrible and isn’t anything which will last. While taking a long time in removing the rusty metal and replacing it in effectively cutting out the problem and making good again to look and be as good as needed again.
Secondly if the inside isn’t smooth, either because of those edges covered up or rivets the mower will clog as grass collects on those areas and this will have many of those
You take care of Philip. Love music 🎶 🎵 ♥️
Well if it makes you feel any better we have 2 rider mowers not working, one is in the shop waiting to be repaired then the zero turn goes to the shop. Yuck never ending work. Kathy USA 🇺🇸
I love your do it myself attitude thats what makes it special and yours.
