As I started listening to Brian talk about cancer patients and the positive effect and the joy it brings by having them engage cycling camps to provide a little relief in their battle to stay alive, I could not help but think about my 10yo daughter who passed away of brain tumor just over 1 year ago. She loved cycling, swimming, and running. I'm an avid cyclist but these days and since she was diagnosed cycling became much more that a pursuit of fitness or a place to connect with friends. Brian, on behalf of all cancer patients and their forever affected families: THANK YOU!
Thanks for sharing Marcelo. On behalf of us all here our thoughts are with you and your family. We agree, what Brian is doing amazing things and we are pleased we could document it. Stay safe.
@@larsjakobsen6733 thanks for the info. Foundations such as The Flamme Rouge and Make a Wish are not just inspirational but the give patients hope. My daughter Juliana had her wish granted during her ordeal with DIPG, the deadliest pediatric tumor there is. Often these wishes are just a glimpse but they will create memories to last forever. My respect to Brisn and the Flamme Rouge!
Marcelo Ortigao Dear Marcelo, to have a sick child with cancer must be .... out of words. Im a cancer survivor my self and on the day that I Got my diagnose - Brian s book. The last mile, came out. That ment that the Press and a lot of people was aware of the need for cancer patients and their famely and friends - need to speak about the hard part of cancer- fore a long time. I read the book in the onkologig ward - renovering - he is a genuine roulleur - a fighter . Best regards to you and your famely in these C19 times.
There you go Sigma, content with meaning and purpose greater than advertising, a true community piece about Cycling, life and the true fight! This is why this is my favourite Cafe ride and I don't think anyone other than Matt could have carried this piece.
Holm is a great guy. As a young kid, his manager car stopped in front of me and my family spectating the tour from the road in Andorra. Holm peeked out from the rolled down window and cracked a mild joke in his excellent humor as to how great it was to see some fellow Danes in these "awfully hot regions". He then stuck out his hand a bunch souvenirs for us and wished us a good holiday. Seeing Holm doing charity work doesn't surprise me. Holm understands the worth of the individual suffering, pays respect to the common fan and also works passionately to improve the rights of an entire new workforce of cyclists. Massive respect to him, truly a lad to be worth a mention.
Thank you for producing feel good content like this at a time when lots of people are going through difficult times. This had me smiling from start to finish. Chapeau
Keeping in the swearing was a really good call. Much more real and adds to the character of both Matt and Brian. Awesome stuff guys, the production value gets better every episode!
My favorite videos on RUclips. Matt is a great interviewer and his guests on the Cafe Ride have been just as entertaining. It's great to see another side of these cyclists who we have all watched for years. There's always some topic comes up that raises a good laugh. Great fun.
This is a cafe ride right out of the top drawer! What great chemistry between Matt and Brian. Thanks also to Sigma Sport who have been my LBS for more than 20 years and continue to innovate (although a lot of the stuff they sell is far beyond my capabilities now!). Matt, maybe see you burning it up around East Molesey?
Absolutely agree about acknowledging other riders. The Essex lanes on a Sunday morning are awash with people who are either don't know or are just rude. Also agree with Brian's comment about there being lots of riders who can win. Definitely makes the sport more interesting. Just look at how good sprinters can now climb. That top tube frame pump brings back good memories.
Thanks Matt and Brian that was a lovely interview and light relief in these crazy times, helps me keep my head together, especially Brian and the cancer patients. Many thanks Sigma.
Brian is on of reasons I startet ridning. That combined with the fact that I have lost both my parentes to cancer it was clear that had to ride La Flamme Rough clothing. Hopefully I`ll be able to support Brians thing for a long time.
I dont follow pro cycling that closely so i had no idea who he was and couldnt really understand him for the first 2 mins. at the end of it all, this is probably my favourite cafe ride video thus far and really quite inspirational. Keep up the great content.
That ride, from Veksø to Hillerød (Denmark) (21min-24minvideo) should be on the world tour plan. Small, but constant climbs. Beautiful route. Perfect pavement.. Let's get it done!!!
That laugh though! As bad as mine 🤣 I always wonder, do you never get abuse from holding up drivers during filming? And is the camera man also riding? Thanks for another enjoyable video! Stay safe everyone ✌🏼💙
Yet another fantastic Cafe Ride with someone who seems a top bloke, Brian Holm. I'm just left wondering what the story was was from the wedding that got bleeped out.... Lovin your work Matt.
When Matt starts these vids with his little wheelie-case it puts me in mind of a lady I used to see around town, she would stay overnight at ones house and had costumes various in the case.
It is so good right now, in the midst of a lockdown, to watch this..... ride the indoor trainer....... have a chat.......stop at a cafe........ Almost like we're doing it for real except I have to make myself the coffee.
This series is absolutely brilliant, Matt is a legend. One minor criticism though, can’t you put him in kit / bike that is more affordable to the masses? Appreciate that you’re a shop & you need to promote products but I nearly fell off my chair when I clicked on the link in the description. I knew the bike would be expensive but £600 for the shoes?!?!?
I thought that too Paul.....till I spotted he is wearing tan coloured gloves...with a black palm! Late on in the video you can see them in close-up. He's still nails hard though. Great series.
What a great film. Matt & Brian genuinely seemed to enjoy each other’s company, funny too. Also, Is it just me or does Brian sound like Kenny van Vlaeminck 😬
Well it's kind of a part of his brand. He is a bricklayer from a tough area outside Copenhagen. He talks about it pretty often and sees himself as a working class heeo.

Marcelo Ortigao i ... Brian was a cancer patient with servire cancer - and went through a werry tough time - thats why cancer is a part of his legacy.

Matt’s cafe rides are probably one of the best things internet has to offer.
If covid-19 is half as infectious as Matt's laugh, we are all doomed. Love the cafe ride series!
Russell Zeckner I miss Matt’s laugh on GCN T-T
doomed indeed

This is brilliant. Brian Holm is one of the most distinctive and interesting voices in cycling.
Brian Holm for EU President please. Hardman with a soft centre. Nailed it again Matt and the Sigma team.
Rocking the frame pump 80s style too, 😎.
Thank you for producing feel good content like this at a time when lots of people are going through difficult times. This had me smiling from start to finish. Chapeau
Thanks Gregg, means a lot. Stay safe.

Brain Holm, what a top bloke. Great outlook on life.
Matt Stephen's is an unbelievable talent, thanks sigma for giving him this platform. Love the cafe ride series.

Really nice with a slightly longer vid with Brian. Always seem to have a bunch of good stuff to say, and combined with Mattie... Chapeau!
Matt is the best on camera and spot on in getting at the crux of an interview! Very best at what he does now! KWC

Matt, this is one of the best interviews you have done.
Thanks Matt and Brian that was a lovely interview and light relief in these crazy times, helps me keep my head together, especially Brian and the cancer patients. Many thanks Sigma.
Thanks Matt and Brian that was the best 33:22 minutes I have spent on You Tube.
Cycling history and progression are so fascinating. Love it when they showed all the memorabilia. Nostalgic.
Thank you for watching!
That's one cool dude. just a brilliant series....
I have missed that laugh ! Is there was ever a time we needed to hear it it's now.
Loved this episode! Thanks, Matt.🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️

Well worth the extra length of the video. Fascinating and excellent stuff.
Excellent, that’s all 👍 hope Brian writes that book he mentioned. What a super guy. Thanks Matt.
Great video, loving the longer length. What a legend Brain is - Please keep doing these throughout these times Thanks Sigma
Mr Stephens is a national treasure! You be good to him, Sigma Sports.

Great to hear you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
This is a great addition to a great series of films.
thats why i love cycling meeting other riders and havinga good chat over a coffee and cake .Keep going Matt
Just don't get how the café ride series can have such few views. This is awesome content. 👌👌👌
two amazing guys
I thought Brian was Matt for a moment and said “Wow, Matt must have forgot his hair dye!”
They look like brothers
Thought it was just me at first... definitely Matt in a few years
Thank you Matt Brain and Sigma Sports
I ❤️ the café rides. I hope it'll continue.
Smell free! 😂😂 Great video 👍🏻😃 Back in the days of cafe rides 😢
We'll be back post COVID-19 Sarah, watch this space!
That laugh though! As bad as mine 🤣 I always wonder, do you never get abuse from holding up drivers during filming? And is the camera man also riding? Thanks for another enjoyable video! Stay safe everyone ✌🏼💙

Cracked it again Matt another great video and another real top bloke! Thanks again to you and your team.👍
Matt its so great to see u again!!
When Matt starts these vids with his little wheelie-case it puts me in mind of a lady I used to see around town, she would stay overnight at ones house and had costumes various in the case.
I like Brian even more after seeing the framed Smiths album on his wall!
Proper cool eh!
Same here and a turtle whose name he can't recall ;-)
Love these videos I watch them all the time
Every time Matt said turtle I was saying It’s a tortoise, it’s a tortoise’.
A great watch.
Matt Stephens is a legend himself and know how be social with other legends or upcoming legends.
As a dane I have to say I admire Brian Holm - cool as hell - big heat and funny...
Best 1 so far chapeau matt.
Nicely done 👌. This is a quality series 👏👏👏👏

Matt Stephens has got to be the most entertaining individual in the cycling world.

Brian Holm is a legend.
I’m not sure who comes up with the interviewees, but .....genius
I like that the opening scene is 2 elderly(😉) men touching their faces in a cafe. Ah the good old days.

They have an automatic clip-in function. That makes them worth every penny. Well to Matt...
sbishop1 👍🏻😂🤣
They are cheaper - go to the website
Brillant as always.
Brian hard man no gloves, Love these episodes.
I thought that too Paul.....till I spotted he is wearing tan coloured gloves...with a black palm! Late on in the video you can see them in close-up. He's still nails hard though. Great series.
Can’t listen to this without hearing Wiggo’s Rolf Sørensen impression...
thanks Matt.
First sentence in the description made me chuckle. I knew Matt was a former pro cyclist but...
Yours,
The Language Pedant x
What a great film. Matt & Brian genuinely seemed to enjoy each other’s company, funny too.
Also, Is it just me or does Brian sound like Kenny van Vlaeminck 😬

Tortoise Matt 😂😂😂 Great Episode! ❤️

I love anything to do with Brian. He’s a wise man.
Nice Bianchi Matt!!!!
Man I need that jersey/ arm warmer combo Brian’s got on.
I'm curious about the shop they visit 11 minutes in. Anyone know where that is?
Why has no one done those shoes before. Genius!!!
Prob not that good given the stupidly high price
Have them - and they are a blast🙌 half Price on sigma sports site
love Brian what a great character - brilliant
I love Matt’s Bianchi
Why did Matt leave GCN?? PS. Love the café ride series!!
Fantastic! Does someone know the name of the first café they visited?
United cycling in Lynge north of copenhagen
Pretty sure that's a tortoise Matt! Can't help but smile watching this series.
Dane of the day!
Another awesome video .....Brian Holm ,what a legend and so down to earth . Just a thought though ... what's with the swearing ?
Well it's kind of a part of his brand. He is a bricklayer from a tough area outside Copenhagen. He talks about it pretty often and sees himself as a working class heeo.
@@hede8800 i understand that but they surely have a 'bleeping ' machine they can use...especially for Matt
Mark of an honest person.
Who puts a thumbs down to the videos? What’s not to like?
Please make a coffee ride with Mads Pedersen 🌈
Hi, what are the glasses Matt is wearing?
Oakley Sutro
Actually, I miss the vocalist you’ve edited out from your Cafe Ride intro 😔
What is a cafe? I am confused.
Almost eight minutes of Matt laughing hysterically and putting clothing on incorrectly before a pedal is turned .... Hahahaha. How I want his job!
En af Danmarks største!
Does anybody know which bike Brian is riding?
Hi, it is a Specialized S-Works Crux. Thanks, Dan
