Getting the quick release was the best thing I ever bought as it frees up soooooo much space for u to get in. I always hated how hard it was for me to get out or in with the steering wheel in the way and now its such a breeze so no, these aren't only for racing its for comfort as well plus you would have to be an idiot to be reaching behind you're steering wheel while driving to "accidentally" release it.
Got a quick release for mine as well. But got an OMP wheel to mount on it. Also got my longtubes in, AC deleted, solid engine mounts on and hopefully this week my IMR intake manifold and 3.5 TB will show up so I can get them installed and tuned on my chrome ecu. Kinda busy with the 3kgt this week.
Hey bro i got question. I have 94 model of 3000gt what size of hub and quick release will i need to get? And the universal steering wheel is ok any kind of? Please answer bro.
If you go on their website they have a sizing chart. You HAVE to get the srk-100h short hub, then u can get whatever quick release u want as long as the bolt pattern is the same, and im pretty sure the steering wheel doesnt matter

@@themojogt Thanks. Keep rockin that Base model. My very first car was a 1997 SL. 3 months later I bought a black on black 1999 VR-4, and one month after that a red on black 1999 VR-4 (which later became the jalopnik VR4 in that article). This was back in 2002. I had sold them all by 2005. Big mistake. For over 13 years I had recurring dreams about my 3000GT's. So August of 2018 I set out and bought a red/tan 1999 SL with 60k miles on it and a week later I bought a matching red/tan 1999 VR4 with 43k miles on it. Living the dream once again!
The steering wheel has a lock the only way it will come off is if you press the button and pull the steering wheel towards you have to be an idiot to do that while driving
Pedro Mata it could happen by accident dude. have you ever tripped before? are you an idiot for tripping? no... but you could be an idiot for knowing your laces are untied and not tying them and then tripping. You did not answer My question sonit stands, if it can be released, and it could fall off while driving, why would you want one? What is the benefit for having a quick release?
Mojo GT sweet! Thanks for responding. I got a question mojo, I just changed the timing belt on my 1999 base model SOHC, because I did not know the maintenance status at 71,000 miles and because the check engine light was on. The codes read were camshaft position sensor and crank shaft position sensor. My design looked different than all videos I watched but I successfully changed everything with new parts: serpentine belts, timing belt, water pump, thermostat, coolant, gaskets, seals, tensioner, and sensors. But the check engine light is still on reading the same codes! What could be the problem?

Don't disconnect a battery like this..Disconnect the negative first, then the positive.

Civil Defense Group nice, man!
I’m having issues with the hub, wish you didn’t skip that whole part of the video.
I apologize. I had to remove my clockspring.
Lmao banging gears 😂
What did u do with the clock spring?? did u cut it off or were u able to detach it all??
clock springs can be detached. no need to cut anything. you dont need it as the new wheel has no electronics in it.
2:09 there are indeed four screws....

That’s amazing dude! Wow! Happy for you!!
Did you smack your self I. The face?!🤪
Why would you want a quick release? What if you accidentally pull the wheel off while driving? That would be bad...

Gold Wolf I agree, if you’re not racing why get the quick release.
It literally can’t fall off unless you pull the levers from both sides. And for why, it just looks badass and I wanted to do it, bro
