    Nice video. Love both cars but the 3000gt ticks every box for me, such an amazing machine!

    💯 regular maintenance is key. Both if my 3S's have been great to me.

      @@gabe6085 60k mile maintenance regardless if you have less at this point. Timing belt is a must!! If you have more miles check online as to what is needed at that point.

    @3:31 these cars came in 3 trim levels with 2 very distinct differences by region....US has the the 2 FWD trims with one SOHC and DOHC both NA and boosted trim AWD.....in japan there are 3 trims SOHC, DOHC NA and Boosted with all 3 trims coming in AWD only with the option for manual and auto in only SOHC & DOHC and manual only for Boosted

    The 6g72 engine block is very strong ,you can take it to 2000-bhp .

    I had a 1997 black 3000GT base model. Damn I wanted a VR-4. That vehicle was ahead of its time in regards to all wheel drive and steering. How fast is it compared to your S5? Ever think you might add a 95-97 Supra Turbo to your collection?

    • @Pietro931
      @Pietro931  Год назад

      I would say they aren't far off. The S5 is 349hp, and the 3K is 320hp. Weight is comparable, too. Way ahead of its time, no doubt.

    Great videos thanks! Have you driven a 300ZX TT? Curious about how that compares

    • @Pietro931

      Thanks for taking the time to view them. I haven't driven one, but I have been on the lookout for either a pristine Z31 Turbo or Z32 TT, but the prices for them have been going to the moon. It will depend on the color and trim with Pearl White with black leather and 5 speed being at the top of the list.

    I have only one complaint about your commentary. A 2G VR4 like yours should do 0-60 in like 4.6s, and the quarter mile in low 13s at around 98-100 mph. It should be ~0.5s quicker than your RX-7 both in 0-60 and quarter mile from a dig due to its high torque and AWD, and similarly quick from a roll. A Type RZ RX-7 with 280 hp would of course be a major step forward in terms of performance, it being comparable to a NSX.

    • @Pietro931
      @Pietro931  3 года назад +1

      Both have been clocked at high 4 to mid 5 second ranges depending in altitude and other variables. What balances their time out is weight and power. Both even eachother out in that respect and keeps times similar. Keep in mind that the VR4 has 1000 pounds on the RX7, with the rx7 have a less of a lag time on turbos kicking due to its sequential set up. Both cars are amazing and well ahead of their times in their own way.

      @danielvivastejuelo8168 3 года назад +1

      @@Pietro931 I fully agree with you there. I just wanted to state before that in most cases, when launched properly, a 2G VR4 would be faster than a 255 hp FD from a dig and similarly quick from a roll.
      Anyway, whatever the differences in performance might be, both cars are timeless icons, and I'm glad that you keep them in such a great shape and mostly stock, as they deserve. Congratulations from a Euro-spec 1G 3000GT owner :)

    While I like Pietro's 3000GT, for all the 3400GT owners and lovers, it is simply not as fast as an Rx7. Period. And, for those who doubt this, remember Pietro has both of them and can compare them in a way that someone who only owns one or the other cannot...
