Always amused how many people say Aussie salmon (Kahawai over here in NZ) is no good. It's damn delicious food, especially if you bleed it properly and chuck it in the smoker. Good on ya mate, tight lines to ya!

Lots of good bait edable as well. Great salmon which we call kahawhai in NZ. One of my fav to eat smoked,raw or cooked. A bit of butter in the oil to juice it up even more. Great cook up, good tucker. Then you pull up a good size snap. Well done mate. Go home feed the family and share the adventure.

Fresh salmon bled out straight away is nice to eat .
You just have to cut the red parts out of the fillet which is the part that doesn't taste nice .
