"You are limited in ways you can't comprehend" is a pretty devastating burn.
Wasn't a big fan of the Protectobots back in the day and wasn't sure if I was going to grab these. You ALMOST convinced me. Your enthusiasm seems genuine and that made me think that maybe I was missing something cool. Maybe.
Toy Galaxy im already a big fan of the protectobots since i first saw them on the g1 cartoon, since it is the only cartoon that has that combiner, and im glad that they made defensor justice, i mean, i like this version more than the g1, and i like groove as a chest minnion.
I 100% recommend that the first thing you do when getting hotspot is to unscrew his torso and cut away some of the screw sockets inside on his left/defensors right leg, they actually block the ratchet disc from moving and using it will probably twist the pin loose contributing to his forward lean in defensor mode. I didn't and now the pin is a bit twisted out and there is a lot of play in the ratchet before it clicks
Defensor's head reveal is really clever. I like that a lot. :)
Oh man, I love double jointed elbows. Makes the figure able to do the "sword over the shoulder" pose. Also I am disappointed in the lack of "gun-bining" Combiner Wars has, though that can be fixed if you have an older Construct Bot.
Yeah it's such a bummer that the weapons are so barren of 5mm pegs and ports, outside of the basic one or two
It's a lot of fun to paint some of the bare plastic. Black hands and the points on the sides of his head. Silver on the guns.
Hi first big fan I go by The Nameless Collecter. I wanted to point out something wrong in the instructions. To make Groove connect to Hot Spot correctly in torso mode turn Groove upside down. There is a peg in the middle of Hot Spot's chest and a hole in Groove's waist then the arms will hold in place.
The transformation reminds me of the symmetrical docking brothers, especially the arms and how they swing down from above where the head ends up.
Sadly theirs no way they could combine

True. I wish someone would make a set of symmetrical docking brothers that actually works how it does in the show (mostly).
I had no idea that Hotspot's knees locked in like that, makes my figure so much more stable.

Hotspot is easily one of, if not my absolute favorite toy from this line. Can't wait for Onslaught and the Victorion body versions.
I actually hated the fact that the ladder didn't extend but I understood why they didn't.
That's the coolest looking official transformers robot mode I've seen since generations Inferno? What fool could possibly compare?
By the way I like your videos man: Short but full of details. And black background make the videos look great..
Man, Defensor looks really good, all bulky and wide like that. It's not quite my favored aesthetic for my gestalt robos, but I have to admit: it's nice.
Honestly Hot Spot's head sculpt reminds me more of the 'albino Optimus' Ultra Magnus then they do Optimus (which is pretty weird considering they look exactly the same) and it makes me *really* want a repaint of this guy other done in the standard Ultra Magnus colors or the aforementioned 'albino Optimus' colors.
Eventhough they are very expensive in my country, you know, if you are a fan of something, you dont care how much it is, you just pay and get. So I am gonna get it this weekend.. Very exited about this figure, I think gonna look awesome as CW Optimus Prime.. I also like the turck mode, but torso mode is the best.
We're also getting Bludgeon from Hot Spot via the subscription service.
No talk of him with the PE boots? He plays really nice with the PE boots. Less so with the PE hands.
Actually can't wait for the Onslaught mold of this.

As mentioned, the knees are wrong coming out of the box. Mine's were and Vangelus fixed them, but they still pop out sometimes. Just shove them back in. Also, the ladder can be removed if you don't like it- I took all the screws out of his torso and then pulled him apart lengthwise to get it off (the very top of the ladder does not split, as the lower rungs do, so be careful). The blue plastic around where the ladder hooks in sustained a tiny bit of damage in the form of whitening at the corners. Removing the ladder makes the alt mode look dumb and I don't know what it does to the torso mode, but I personally just leave him in robot mode, so it doesn't matter to me.

Just found this guy and the other Protectobot limbs on sale over the course of last week. They are a nice looking set of toys and I'm glad I bought them.

i guess this was made before his ladder was thrown into a jar on the V-build a month or 2 ago.
Oh no that one was Krin's own Hot Spot! Mine remains laddered.
Mine unfortunately had an issue with the knee. It was locked up with a TON of glue that seemed to have been bleeding out from where the leg halfs are connected :/ Not much I could do about it, so I hust returned him. Luckily, I haven't heard of anyone else having this issue, so It's probably a one off thing.

I'm really gonna enjoy this guy as Onslaught I think. That's what I am holding off for though.

I honestly can't think of a single one of my nearly 500 transformers on which I actually USE the oh-so-important waist joint for posing or display....
Also you forgot Groove. :)
Two things about Hot Spot:
1. Is it just me, or is the black plastic on him the same stuff they make "unbreakable" combs out of?
2. His hip joint ratchets are SCARY STRONG and I fear for the mushroom caps in his thigh-swivels.
Lastly, maybe I'm cursed with some kind of entropic field around me, but it really seems like pin hinges and 5mm ports tend to break when I'm nearby. Anyone else have this problem?

He'll also be used as Bludgeon in the Transformers Subscription Service. And given his Optimus like appearance... I would just love to see what can be done as a Combiner Wars version of RID 1.0 Optimus Prime. That would be one sweet use of the mold to me anyways. (I loved RID1.0 Optimus, so I may be biased here. Would be quite the nice and interesting as well as Meta redeco and remold given how a version of that Prime was made into Hot Spot, and there was also a planned Redeco and Remold of the actual RID 1.0 figure into Hot Spot with his Super Mode being Defensor.)
If there was a wrist joint, in truck mode it would never stay still.. Or they gotta madethe wrist with rachet joints but its hard for wrist.. And there is a giant ladder at his back.. How you gonna move it wrist anyway?

Where? I am not there, one of my relative in VA right now, I told him to buy one for me, he said he went to Target, Toysrus, Walmart.. He just couldnt find it anywhere.

I see.. The thing is, I told him to buy me some other ones such as Prowl and Sunstreaker. My I am out of credit :) I live in Turkey and I dont know when they will come here, it may take more than a year. But Hot spot is being sold here now, Of course more expensive than US prices but I'll get one for sure.

Yeah i found mine at a target but their were no limbs it was saturday after force friday the star wars section had NOTHING when i saw it XD

Richima you may have had a version, but this particular figure was released in the Combiner Wars line, which began around 2015.
that's a nice figure , there is only one slight problem the combined mod chest plate formed from hot spot don't want to stay tabbed very long like only 30 seconds or so . Does anyone else have that problem ?
And nobody will comment on Hotspots blatantly visible head in alt mode.

So, regarding Onslaught, how how do you fix HIS knees?
PC-01 would work for this thing so much! Also using the hand/feet things on the combined Hotspot guns can work sa a hammer!

I'm sorry to say that Hot spot replaced Optumus prime as my Favorite combiner torso so far.

Definitely the best voyager in both bot and torso mode. Although, I wish the peg on his right leg for torso mode held better.

Duh i know what it is but its looked better on defensor/hot spot than bruticus/onslaught because onslaught deserved an new mold
At first, I really thought with that hodgepodge wreck of a "ladder system" they put on Hotspot that he was just an afterthought to Onslaught.. Because we know how much Hasbro just loves damned Bruticus over every other combiner in existence. However, after seeing Onslaught's wreck of an altmode and the fact the didn't even pull the light bars off for him I'm not sure anyone at Hasbro had a set plan for either and they tossed things on as they went.

is it funny because hot spots name is derived from a mobile connection thats once opened, can be connected on other mobile phones but without a wifi connection unless that device that has that mobile connection is open and is connected on a wifi network or has mobile data, which is called hotspot, geez, thats too much words with a short meaning
