Apologies for the audio issues while at the stanchion. Our main external mic went out very early on so we had to rely on secondary, onboard mics. Hince, the loud background noise.
This episode is deep. It touched on Faith, hope, generosity of spirit, resilience, courage, love and trust. Thank you Art and Bri, for trusting us, and valuing us by sharing your vulnerabilities with us the viewers. Thank you Justin for showing compassion and doing this interview with sensitivity and empathy. It is a trying time in so many ways for so many people right now. Hopefully this too shall pass. With love all the way from the UK xx
I cannot imagine why anyone would want to be unkind to Art and Bri,they are so sweet and kind, genuine open and honest.Shame on anyone passing cruel comments
Art & Bri, just know that a lot of your viewers are praying for you... and no matter how far away that goal seems, you'll get there... you get closer and closer every single day. Eventually, you'll look back and this will all be but a memory, and hopefully the journey will make the destination that much sweeter when you reach it. I keep you're family and The Rhodes in my prayers.
My heart goes out for Art and Bri . These struggles take so much strength from us , but somehow we make it through and are stronger for it. I pray the day they can look back will come soon .Bless you and your famuly for the friendship and strength you give them . Love and light to you all
Your words are so true, about drowning yourself in the garden. That is differently what has helped me. I call it my happy place. I have a small backyard garden out my back door and I check on it upon waking every morning and evening. My husband says I talk to it. Be encouraged everything will work out.
I love Art and Bri! Been with them for 2-3 years. I learned some things about them I did not know today. God has blessed you both and this will be alright... I'm not saying it will be easy. Thank you for giving us such a great interview Justin.
This is so sweet. Art is hanging on every word Bri says. Bri this says so much about the love he has for you. The fact that people say mean stuff to y'all infuriates me! One of the reasons that I love watching your journey is because you are honest. You show it all. If you edited everything out then it would look like homesteading was a piece of cake.
I can't imagine what Art and Bri are going through. Thank you for opening up your hearts to us. I do pray that the rebuilding of your home goes smoothly with no added suprises. Thankful that you have such good friends that are able to help you out. I will continue to pray for you.
God bless you Bri!!! I always enjoy your perspective. You give me hope and encourage me. I think one of the hardest parts in one's faith walk is just hanging on through the struggle. During a very difficult season of my life, God showed my two different visual metaphors during my prayer time that enlightened and comforted me. One was a life preserver floating on rough water. I just needed to hang on-hang tight. Just ride out the storm-He'd do the rest. The other was a big sunflower tracking the sun. I just needed to keep my face pointed into the sunshine of His presence. He knows I'm a visual learner. When I would start to stress these two visuals would come to me. God bless you, Art, and your kids! And the Rhodes too!
Bri, Rebekah is right, you can't beat up yourself over the mold in your home. We're all thrown unexpected curve balls...some small, and easy to fix. Others may take months, or even years to resolve. Remember this to shall pass!!!
Darling story of your first pig date. My grandfather a barber, and farmer was encouraged by my grandmother's brother to show up to the farm and meet my grandmother; a blind date. Grandpa arrived and Grandma was in overalls and in the process of helping Uncle Charlie ( her father was crippled) to scald a pig. Grandpa told me he knew at that moment that she was the one. They were married 65 years.
I love Art and Bri!! They are a wonderful family! I couldnt imagen why anyone would have a problem with Bri! Im so sorry they a r e going through what they are. I know its life and everyone has struggles but I am still sorry and wish you all the best and that through it you see like Bri said gods grace and beauty in it cause I think you are sharing it with everyong with how you all are handling it and the friendship and help from RUclips watchers!! It is inspiring! Your two families friendship is inspirin! Love both families!
My whole soul cries with you.I feel your frustration .your life has changed, could feel like you have lost a loved one. I lost the love of my life 4 months ago, so my whole life as I know it has changed.picking up the pieces and putting it back together is the challenge.we grow from this experience, might not feel like it right now but the future looks bright, I hear your goals and feel your joy.Gardening heals.Mother nature knows how to help us overcome. You are wonderful people.
Life throws you a lot of curve balls. Just continue to trust in God, love each other and God will carry you through this. Just ask Him. He is right beside you waiting for you to ask Him to take this burden. He will take care of it. My husband and I were married for 50 years and we were down in the valley many times. The worst was when our only son died. I got to the point that I wanted to end my life. One morning as I was in tears, I fell to my knees and told Him that I couldn’t handle it any longer. I asked Him to take ‘this pain away. I immediately had this feeling of calmness come over me. From that moment on I could talk about Chip without crying, I could visit his graveside without falling to pieces. I knew that he was in heaven and being well taken care of. So give it to God and He will help you. Sorry that I am preaching but even tho I don’t know y’all, I love y’all and your sweet family and I will be praying for you. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
I love this segment! Thank you Art & Bri for being vulnerable and sharing your life! You both have such a sweet spirit as you walk in grace. Prayers as you work through all the things rebuilding this spring, summer and fall. Blessings!
Well we love both these families and channels!!! Bri! I can’t imagine how hard it must be to read the nasty hurtful comments! You have to remember that angry, hurt, bitter and dare I say ignorant people only want to make others feel that way! It’s literally a “them” problem not a “you” problem! So keep your head up and keep looking forward ❤️
I am so sorry for your struggle. You seem like awesome ppl, gentle, kind and loving. I hope you can overcome your anxieties of this journey and that the time goes quicker than Christmas that you are back in your home as a family unit and one day can look back at this and know exactly how strong you both were throughout. The Rhode's family is your sunshine in this storm, they are good friends and can help keep you guys grounded. Hugs! Stay tough.
I really enjoyed this video. I miss seeing Art and Bri on their own channel and it's so nice that you have been there for them. You are good, supportive friends
What a wonderful video, you guys are so wise for your age.poor Bre she is absolutely not a failure, love all you guys, ignore the the mean one I'm so glad they have you guys a beautiful friendship and the kids play well together your a very wise man Justen
Dear Art & Bri, just know that lots of people are struggling these days. I think it is important to know that you show the grace going through the hard times and struggles. Sending love to your family.
I love Art and Bri.. but totally get how it's been painful.. and it's hard for viewers to see the pains but be helpless to help them. The mold was bad..but it also had the side effects of showing the love of people in the world wanting to help.. but recently the medical issues on Bri with her eyes.. really made me understand that she had to put herself and her family FIRST!! Thank God for great friends that helped.. but the friendships I am sure are recipriacal.. and if not given back directly.. will be passed forward. Also.. those kids are happy.. so they are doing a great job!!
Thanks Bri and Art for sharing your story. Your awesome!!! When you start doing well the adversary tries to knock you down. So know your in the right direction!! 💖💖💖
I'm in the same emotional boat as Brianna although brought on by different circumstances. I loved the 'swimming in the lake' analogy! I'm not a swimmer either and daily living demands that I swim this massive deep lake with weights on. I'm weak, struggling and exhausted and then the storm hits and it feels like a never ending storm. I'm not living and exposing my life on social media and it's still soooo hard! Most days the struggle is more than I feel I can bare. I've had soooo many close friends and family negatively judge my "swimming skills" or the lack there of and have abandoned me and other's I've had to distance myself from for the sake of my sanity. I now live in shameful self-isolation (7yrs) afraid of people; trying desperately to hold on to my faith. God is my floating device, I have to keep believing this even tho sometimes it feels that my 'floating device' has sprung a leak. This is a humbling scary ride that I hate and want to get off of, and yet I hold on cuz it's all I can do. And no, I don't have addictions of any sort unless you count self-isolation. I will keep you in my prayers Art & Bri ❤️
Art and Bri don't let the naysayers bring you down! You are an amazing family who will succeed!! Prayers for you all and blessings to your awesome friends the Rhodes❤❤❤
Fantastic bringing Art & Bri to the forefront. Its lovely to hear they are doing okay during the many pressures. The mold shocked everyone. Happy to know they will be able to rebuilt their house come better weather.
I have been following both of your families videos for a short while. I just want to say Thank you!!! Especially to Bri! Your kind, gentle, God loving heart has truly inspired me. I have depression, and being cooped up in a city for my job is not where I want to end up. Both vlogs give me so much motivation to get out there and do as much as I can where I am. I made bread and pizza dough from my apartment and all my co-workers think I'm nuts, but hey, I did it! And it was delicious and I know exactly how it was made. That's just one example. Thank you guys so much!!!!!
Justin, this is one of your best vlogs. I’ve only been following your channel for a few months. I didn’t realize Art and Bri had a channel. What a crazy story they have. Thanks Art and Bri for sharing your struggle with all of us. Praying for the spring to bring wonderful peace to all of you. Definitely hopping over to Bri and Art’s channel to subscribe.
Brie and Art you are doing great, life will get better soon. God be with you and restore your health and mental health to go on. Stress takes your life but you are Warriors and you will be back on track soon. Hopefully you will be in your home soon.💜
I spent a winter in an aistream with two kids after my mom's suicide and it was winter in Minnesota, we made it, it was hard, but I had my faith and being a farmers daughter I knew how to survive.
As my Mom used to say, “Your problems are important and shouldn’t be minimized because someone else has something worse. Your problems are the challenges that YOU have to deal with and it can be painful and very difficult.” Life gets super challenging for most and there is no shame in taking the actions you need to take to overcome. One day at a time, one foot in front of the other, and you’ll get there.
Art and Bri I love you guys forget the naysayers they don’t count. You guys are great and I enjoy sending time with you and yours. Thanks Justin for sharing.
Bre look at it as a blessing . God is helping you to accomplish something that you both want for your family. It could have been something worse and you never new about it. Now you can look forward to a new beginning.
Touching episode...yes...change for warming and sun shining weather does a heart good and the Mind. It will all work out cuz you are being diligent...you will be blessed.. hugs to Bri and Art...
Wonderful American people sharing and talking about troubles to ride out the many storms ,that face us in Life and we lean from each other how to weather each storm...
Hi Justin, thank you for your videos. I'm in Ohio, into horses and camping, but would love to get on the homesteading journey. My dad passed away a month after yours from Alzheimers. I knew watching your vids that I would soon face the same loss. So we'll just keep on keeping it on, for Boots, and please say "Howdy Folks" for my dad, even if in thought. He was a dear sweet man. That was his introduction to everyone. Thank you for all you and your family does to bring joy to us watching.❤
Love both families and have enjoyed and used all your information. My family has been with you all from the beginning. Waiting for Art and Bri to show us the new and improved home. We have been praying for you dear family. Justin, we enjoy your videos too! My grand kids and great grand kids love your kids! Mr. Brown is their favorite little boy. Troubles are with all of us all the time, just set your heart on the good things that have come out of them and the knowledge you have gained from these times. You become stronger!!! AND REMEMBER, you begin within your family to live, love and grow!!!! Your kids are your students. They will carry all you teach, forever, in their lives! Focus only on them, the world has many problems with many people. You are responsible for the ones that GOD has given you. Love and Blessings from Texas.
Bri and Art i love your channel. Cant wait to see you go back home and work Gods miracles. There will always be struggles but you work through them together and get it done. love you all....
I don’t think of “ sacrificing for my family” rather we consider what / how much the family must sacrifice for something. We decided that I would stay home and homeschool our children. Over the years we have “given up” extras like home delivery newspapers, cable tv, phone lines. I believe we are stronger and closer as a family. We got involved heavily in scouting with all our children to help round out their education and personalities. I can now say that our 4 children have become wonderful additions to the world! Like Rebecca says “ when life throws you a curve ball - you dust yourself off and keep going”. Keep the faith and all will come together. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.
The blessing is your health is returning, and you have been reassured of the love from the Rhoads that you wouldn't have experienced if the problem hadn't happened. Sorry for the stress you've been through. Thank God for true friends.
Art and Bri your house problems were found during fall last year. You had to step back and evaluate the plan of action. Things will happen this year. Dont be bothered by naysayers/trolls. People fail to forget your in an area that is country not urban or suburban. Workers of construction if they are professional have their work already scheduled. They dont drop what they are doing to fix your house before anyone. Your family hopefully is on the mend: broken bones, respiratory problems 2nd to mold. We all support you with prayers. God has this, this will get done. Happy 100 years for your house.
I've been watch since the beginning and sometimes you need to let it go....have a melt down , cry, get angry then get back up and start all over again...life happens.
I loved this Milking Time Interview and look forward to more! So much to extrapolate from this Q&A about life in general. I will definitely look up and subscribe to their channel. We all have our challenges in life and sometimes it can feel like we're getting more than our fair share. I also believe that we are never given more than what we can handle at any one time. Looking back on various events in my life I can see now how those events changed me in ways, both good and bad. But I weathered the storms and I am still standing, so for that I can stand proud.
Spring is new beginnings. And renewal. Also you feel energized to get out and physically do something. But most of all the weather allows that work. But PLEASE ALLOW the professionals to do the mold eradication. They have the equipment, experience, and knowledge. Your friends, family, and yourselves can do the remodelling and putting the house back together, YOUR WAY AFTERWARDS. You do NOT want to go thru all of this, only to find out 3 years down the road that you didn't do the job properly or completely, and its grown back. I think that would be destructive to your family relationship and your sanity. I'm sure it will cost more doing this but in the long run it will be worth it. And if more funds are needed I'm sure they will come. People who watch Art & Bris channel love them and want them back in thier home health & safe from all of this horrible mold. Sorry this is so long winded, but I can't stress it enough, Do NOT do the mold removal yourselves. You need to stay healthy to work, work in the garden and produce food for your family for your 1st winter back in your new home.
Justin can you please show Art and Bri my comment....I m recently widowed at young age..I've shared with you.he went misdiagnosed over 9 weeks ,but we found out after we were rushed to the university of Birmingham to find out he had wegners autoimmune...when God after 28 days there God called him home...I was rejoicing he wasn't suffering and was with our Lord and Saviour...but I've never worked outside the home. He was a Baptist Pastor..so I questioned why ,I will have no income so I have had anxiety, broken hearted , bitter at times ...but God will provide for me..so I know if God is carrying me through this and hasnt left me ,he will not leave y'all...PS 56:3 What time I am afraid ,I will trust in thee. I said this verse over and over as I watched the love of my life slip away from me...y'all are in my prayers...may God bless you and your family .. Justin and his family are a blessing too y'all. But you helped me Bri hearing you share your true feelings...God is good❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 our oldest twin is very depressed Justin ...I know you know how he feels ,because you too have lost your Dad..
I would like to share with Art and Bri two scriptures 1) Jeremiah 29:11 God has good plans for them. Plans to prosper them and not to harm them, Plans to give them a hope and a future, Also, Ephesians 6:10-19 the Armour of God Holding up the shield of faith to put out all the slings and arrows that the enemy throws at you. Glod Bless both your families. Thanks for your vulnerability.
Being real comes at a high price but if you are a person of integrity there's no other option. Sure, you could be fake & ONLY show the good parts & successes of life, but those aren't real. The hardcore truth of life is not everyone or every situation has a happy ending & not every challenge is overcome in a 28 minute episode. Keep being real & know the haters are so because either they've never attempted anything of value or they can't handle real life.
I have a great homesteader vlog that I follow "Daddy Kirbs Farm" whom I follow and he has a great saying that he has made it his mantra on his YT videos and he has been at this over 8 years now and it is "Everyone has a story counts and every story counts" what a great mantra to have and every Livestream he has posted over the years and many videos over the years. He also has a great "Fanily" on Facebook that everyone should check out. Love you guys and just pass this on to everyone that you know. Thanks Haffy
"in this world you will have trouble xx but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world. You are being tested...I don't think God is the author of these, however be of good cheer. stay close to our Savior, He will give you strength, ask for wisdom because this too shall pass. You are so right Bro! Tough times are tough, painful, and frightening....keep directing your heart to God....I promise that if you dont jump the tracks, God will abundantly bless!!!!!!!!!!
When God's plan isn't working, its because His "hands and feet" aren't working. We are His tools to bring about positive change. Go to work helping neighbors and our fellow man, just like Justin and fellow homesteaders are doing nationwide. A healthy lifestyle is one part of the story. The healthy long term relationships, people helping people, may be the greater story. Bravo homesteaders!
Hopefully you'll have a mic soon-- sh it happens. Doesn't bother me as I have to use CC , since loss of heating post 2 years, vestibular dysfunction, severe DDD, so after 50 years in health care MT ASCP then RN BSN had to retire. Tc all, be safe. Wash your hands with what's going on. Help yourself, your family and follow man by self quarantining. Already have a month in, as end of Jan went to Asian Grocery store in my area for the first time. Luckily no s/s of covid 19 in my area as of yet.
Just a recommendation. get the mic closer to them. see if you can get a boom mic. Especially before the Joel interview. Love the concept Great idea just minor improvements. always learning and always growing.
Thanks. It's not that, it's our main mic (the close one) went out. LOL. Figured something is better than nothing. Every day in every way, we're getting better.
With love all the way from the UK
xx

I feel so bad for them with the mold. That is a silent killer. Glad they found it and are able to have it taken care of. Stay safe, stay well.

Having good friends to remind you of reality really helps. We can blow things out of proportion and overwhelm ourselves in our own minds.
I love this segment! Thank you Art & Bri for being vulnerable and sharing your life! You both have such a sweet spirit as you walk in grace. Prayers as you work through all the things rebuilding this spring, summer and fall. Blessings!

Dear Art & Bri, just know that lots of people are struggling these days. I think it is important to know that you show the grace going through the hard times and struggles.
Sending love to your family.
I've been watching them for about a year and a half and they seem happiest at The Hollar. They're consistently happy at your place Justin.

There is something exciting about homesteading. The mystery of every day, the adventure. Such a fulfilling way of life😁

Beautiful! Some of the bravest most kind and real people. Remember to give yourselves Grace also!
Love you all, still praying for both families!
Brie and Art you are doing great, life will get better soon. God be with you and restore your health and mental health to go on. Stress takes your life but you are Warriors and you will be back on track soon. Hopefully you will be in your home soon.💜
Bri dear, a idle mind is a room of daught, fear and regret, shame and remorse . Stay busy, be creative this year. God Bless you and your family.
I spent a winter in an aistream with two kids after my mom's suicide and it was winter in Minnesota, we made it, it was hard, but I had my faith and being a farmers daughter I knew how to survive.
Great video. Rhodes are such good friends. Such a blessing and look forward to watching Art and Bri on their journey with their home. Exciting time.
If u do things for the right reasons everything will work out. Art and Bre are on the right track, they will do well.

One day at a time, one foot in front of the other, and you’ll get there.
Wise word.
Art and Bri I love you guys forget the naysayers they don’t count. You guys are great and I enjoy sending time with you and yours. Thanks Justin for sharing.
We believe in you guys and are rutting for Y’all’s success ❤️❤️Sending Love and strength to overcome the good and the bad ❤️
My Nan always said "God helps those who help themselves ". It's helped me pick myself up through the years. Thanks Guys
Bre look at it as a blessing . God is helping you to accomplish something that you both want for your family. It could have been something worse and you never new about it. Now you can look forward to a new beginning.
God bless you and your family, you certainly haven’t failed x
Touching episode...yes...change for warming and sun shining weather does a heart good and the Mind. It will all work out cuz you are being diligent...you will be blessed.. hugs to Bri and Art...
Wonderful American people sharing and talking about troubles to ride out the many storms ,that face us in Life and we lean from each other how to weather each storm...
Best of wishes Art and Bri. God will see you through. 💙
Love you guys. Bri I'm sending you the biggest hug. God bless.
You are very generous to share your life lessons with us. ✌
Thanks for the blog. real people over coming real problems God Blezs
Awesome video, can really relate to what you're going through. God bless all of you.
Love art and bri, would never of thought Bri was from a gated community she is so comfortable homesteading
Love it! So good for you both to have this unique bond! Praise the Lord for the bond of friendship. And fun! 😄💕
Loving these talks. Keep it up!
Bri and Art i love your channel. Cant wait to see you go back home and work Gods miracles. There will always be struggles but you work through them together and get it done. love you all....
i love Art and Bri,. They inspire me to be the best i can!
We just love you all and pray for you all.
Things will happen this
year.
I would love to have friends like you and the beautiful one! 👍👍👍💯💯💯
I've been watch since the beginning and sometimes you need to let it go....have a melt down , cry, get angry then get back up and start all over again...life happens.
New sub for Art and Bro just because of this video. Respect
I think all of you look amazing from doing the cold water dunking, Bri's skin tone and generalized puffiness is gone. She looks so very healthy,
Justin thank you so much
As Paul Harvey Would Say
Now That's The Rest Of The Story.
So sad about there home.
I really like this interview style you did.
What a sweet heart :-) It will be ok in the end you'll see. Oh and Bri you milk the cow better then Justin lol. Take care.
It is crazy what they went through as a family!!
Thanks for your vulnerability.
y'all are some great people
Love Art and Bri
Justin your head is a vulnerable spot there.
Fixed. It was like that for one day. And, you might not have noticed but she was pinned there with a board and a chain.
Great video thanks for sharing with us ❤
Justin loves your channel. Watch every video. Everyday. But you never reply to people’s comments yet you want everyone to watch
Interesting.
Love Art & Bri 💪🙏
Art and Bri wonderful video and you are an amazing family ❤️❤️❤️
I have a great homesteader vlog that I follow "Daddy Kirbs Farm" whom I follow and he has a great saying that he has made it his mantra on his YT videos and he has been at this over 8 years now and it is "Everyone has a story counts and every story counts" what a great mantra to have and every Livestream he has posted over the years and many videos over the years. He also has a great "Fanily" on Facebook that everyone should check out. Love you guys and just pass this on to everyone that you know. Thanks Haffy
Bri's rhythm with that milking is mesmerising
Great video!
You thumbs-downers should have to muck out the pig stall.
LOL. They're too busy watching and criticizing other people work on RUclips.
So they do live with y"all, for a time. Sounds like they need good friends like y'all.
"in this world you will have trouble xx but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world. You are being tested...I don't think God is the author of these, however be of good cheer. stay close to our Savior, He will give you strength, ask for wisdom because this too shall pass. You are so right Bro! Tough times are tough, painful, and frightening....keep directing your heart to God....I promise that if you dont jump the tracks, God will abundantly bless!!!!!!!!!!
i watch you and them its great
I am having a difficult time hearing art and bri over the sound of milk splashing into the pan.
Yeh, so sorry about that. The main mic went out. Hopefully better next time :)
Love ur vids keep them up
When God's plan isn't working, its because His "hands and feet" aren't working.
Love you all 💪👍👏👏👏👏
Hopefully you'll have a mic soon-- sh it happens.
Shalom ❤️🙏🏻
