  • In this video Corin works on a Japanese Larch Bonsai (Larix kaempferi).
    This larch recently came in fro a retired collector, it had been left to grow out for the last few years and a few branches had died off. Corin sets some of the primary branches and re styles the top of the tree to bring the image back to life.
    The tree will develop over the next few years with this new structure to become a splendid bonsai.

    Beautiful transformation. Working out the apex was excellent, as not only it created a balance arrangement, it cleverly hid the reverse taper of the trunk. Super!!

    Totally amazing, to see how something, that looked like a bush, that's been accidentally hit by a push-mower turns into a mighty looking and dramatic tree.

  • @Heritagius
    @Heritagius 2 года назад +1

    Lol compare me v Corin when doing that apex. Someone who knows 110% what they're doing!
    Corin - here, up here, down here and shorten, then later this one will come down here, but for this one down, here and here, shorter, that one's useless, this one's going to come back look, here, then the last one, there. Done. Apex. Under two minutes.
    Me - sits and looks at the tree for 3 months, trying standing on one leg. Then took a day to actually do it.
    Lovely video that tree looks brill!

    Hey I’ve got a question, what is the best soil for a Norway spruce to be planted in?

    • @jeef16
      @jeef16 2 года назад

      conifers usually enjoy a 1/1/1 mix, very standard stuff. Ofc, soil relies on your personal climate but 1/1/1 mix works well in most places really
