- In this video Corin works on a Japanese Larch Bonsai (Larix kaempferi).
This larch recently came in fro a retired collector, it had been left to grow out for the last few years and a few branches had died off. Corin sets some of the primary branches and re styles the top of the tree to bring the image back to life.
The tree will develop over the next few years with this new structure to become a splendid bonsai.

Like the fact you stay vocal as you’re going through your pruning thinking process. Thanks for the vid!
I would have absolutely loved to have worked on that tree. Such a beauty.
It looks fantastic Corin! Would love to have one like that on my benches.
I want it back Corin.
You work unbelievable fast and accurate. That would have taken me a day or more. And the result would be half as good. ;) Great video, thanks!
I Love Love Love your videos!!!!!!
another fantastic transformation the Larch looks 100 times better in such a short time 😜
My 12 y old ficus and 6 y old elm looks like worthless grass compared to this one ;)
That was great to watch , thank you for sharing sir!
Amazing, as always. Such talent Corin.
What a beautiful tree once you had worked your magic , loved the carved bits and the wiring of pads . Looking forward to seeing it re potted and with some new growth , really interesting watch as always!!
Once again, simply spellbinding video! Stunning result!!
Gotta love seeing a bonsai professional bringing out the beauty of any tree they touch, great work ! 🙏 and greatly inspiring
Beautiful work Corin, thank you so much for sharing it and your thought process xx
Beautiful transformation. Working out the apex was excellent, as not only it created a balance arrangement, it cleverly hid the reverse taper of the trunk. Super!!
You sir are a bonsai whisperer
Great video, love the larch
Yet another very informative video, as others have said it's amazing the speed you work at and the results you produce, thanks and keep them coming.
Incredible stuff!
Nice tree. Very quick work!
Great video easy to understand explanation. No fancy bla bla. I love it. Tree after pruning is beautiful. Of course👍👍
Thanks Corin. Looking forward to seeing how it develops.
Totally amazing, to see how something, that looked like a bush, that's been accidentally hit by a push-mower turns into a mighty looking and dramatic tree.
I really like your music you play in the background, oh and also you know your stuff about Bonsai🤙🏼😎❤️⛵️
Great work! Lovely to see the whole process! Cheers from Finland!
I’d love to see some follow up on this tree as it goes into the next growth! I have a few larches in training and These videos are great to get ideas for their development!
Lovely to see the larch shaping up. Are they easy to air layer. Thanks for the chat the other day about mountain bikes and the pots you sold me. Regards Adam.
Really like what you did with the larch. Thanks for sharing.
Nice work on that Larch Corin, you make it look easy ! By the way did no one else notice that cool spider climbing the trunk at 13:40 hahaha awesome !!!
i did and came to the coments to see if someone else did too hahaha
Fascinating to watch you work!
Nicely styled Larch
Excellent trim/design for this tree. You did it quickly, all the while explaining what and why you did things. It should be a real stunner in x# of years. Updates please.

Very nice top is heavy but as the lower pads develope and fill out will regain the balance of the tree
Great video, larches are my favourite trees, you can work on my group planting 😉

Hats off to you Corin,Great work, please bringing videos like.
I like to see group planting of Larches on the stone Slate.
Do you sell your Bonsai and pots
👌👌👌
👍
Awsome work 😎 is there a update on the tree?
Lol compare me v Corin when doing that apex. Someone who knows 110% what they're doing!
Corin - here, up here, down here and shorten, then later this one will come down here, but for this one down, here and here, shorter, that one's useless, this one's going to come back look, here, then the last one, there. Done. Apex. Under two minutes.
Me - sits and looks at the tree for 3 months, trying standing on one leg. Then took a day to actually do it.
Lovely video that tree looks brill!
Great transformation. The previous owner did a good job building the structure. Do you remove cones when they form or leave them on?
👍🍎👌
Fantastic have you got this material in stock please am thinking of making a forest
Hey I’ve got a question, what is the best soil for a Norway spruce to be planted in?
conifers usually enjoy a 1/1/1 mix, very standard stuff. Ofc, soil relies on your personal climate but 1/1/1 mix works well in most places really
This larch looks very much like the tree in the back of the photo on page 6 of The bonsai year book of your dad. Is it?
