This is FUCKING FANTASTIC!!
Holyshit!! This is not an easy song to play!! Rhythmic dynamics; key modulations; difficult melody - these guys are ALL OVER IT!! Tight AZFUQ!!
Man there was some really great music in the 80s!!
WTF happened?
Chill....yeah, great musicians have disappeared and we have crap music nowadays...unfortunately.
this liveperformance was just really something.... good lord
i gotta say... it was Pink floyd level... no joke
WTF happened...totally get that! 70s and 80s...the best years of music industry.
Love this band, great musicians .
Wang Chung does very well live ! Bryan Ferry, playing Seven Deadly Sins live is also worth the watch.
They absolutely killed it ! Amazing guitar solo at the end ! Wang Chung performed a perfect soundtrack for the movie also ! Love the 80s!
His best song ever!!! 🎸🤘Never getting tired of it.
i have to agree
i even cant watch the movie cuz i have to pause and listen to the score
its almost TOO good
Best long version ever…and its live!Still listening to this in 2021👍
2024 !
It's a really great live version. The song iself sounds very smooth, but the percussionists in this performance give it an extra kick which makes it really cool
Absolutely! Amazing bands in the 80’s. Best decade of music in my opinion.
An amazing version of an iconic tune from an iconic film
Nothing like live music when the band is this good, leaves you wanting more.
80's Big hair, skinny ties & vests... I miss songs like this... hell, I really miss the 80's! This is such a deep, sad song that crosses over from tragic to something else, that still haunts me to this day, over thirty years later.
I'm blown away! It's an amazing song, but I utterly amazed by how great it sounded live!
This guitar solo is the gate to heaven.
It really is, they just take a step back and let him go for it!
Pure 80s style
Mike Reid on guitar.
Never been much of a fan of Wang Chung, but the movie TLADILA is , IMO, one of the best films ever written and produced- and definitely raised WC’s profile
Can’t recommend the movie enough
Fantastic live version-Long live the 80s!
Perfect live sound!!! I'm very proud to belongs the 80's genaration!!!!
Memorable song !!!There has never been a better one at the film industry!!Magnificent piece of art!!How can someone come up with such an incredible music!!!
I saw this tour in Denver and was blown away how great they sounded. Like a CD. The drummer crushed it. He rocked it up a little and put power behind all of their songs. Incredible..
The drummer is Bryan Hitt. He now plays with REO Speedwagon.
CANT REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I HEARD SUCH A GREAT SONG AND A PERFECT PERFORMANCE JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIE!!!BRILLIANT!!!!!!!
Overall. Amazing for a Pop music 80 s band. How can I get my hands on a CD, live at the Ritz?
yup.
So glad this version is back up! That ending is unreal. Wish this version was available on CD or vinyl.
Those last two minutes are incredible.
someone took the entire uncut live concert off youtube, very annoying
@@MetalAaron I remember that & I used to watch it all the time. It was probably flagged by the copyright owners and removed by YT though. I've had the same thing happen to me and it's incredibly annoying. Especially when it's something this rare & imposible to buy or see elsewhere.
We had no idea how great we had it then…🙏
What a magical time to be alive, trying to describe this period in the 80's to the current generation is almost impossible, And it's hard to believe it just kept getting better and better..
Dear @hoosierfatha you are just unlucky in this shit time you reside in. But as all things do not despair the pendulum always swings back,,,,,always. You'll get to scream and party lik we mad, it will happen with parades, and joy exploding right after Trumps first conviction. National holidays, and much music like this . Have faith baby. Best wishes.
I so love that processed 1980's guitar sound that's run through a large rack. Kinda sounds like Lukathers 80's sound. Awesomeness!!!
That guitar solo at the end is so badass. This is so 80’s, and I love it !
Every time Debra Duncan octaves up Jack Hues' melody in the chorus is just like a sweet layer of honey...
@ELDEANTI, a bit bombastic maybe, but all in this circa was about making bombastic statements😄, wasn't it?
Yea she’s bad ass
Yea she knows right when to come in, it’s great!
It's actually Debra Dobkin but I agree with your sentiments.
True
One can easily see these folks are professional musicians…a perfectly crafted song!
Was there any doubt about that?
Excellent! The band is tight as hell.
I have always loved the guitar in this song, ( especially 2:51 ) and have never heard this live version until today (2-29-24), and this is like an extended version! ❤
I love finding these nuggets on yt!
When I saw this movie in 1986 it blew me away. Possibly one of the best movies ever alongside Apocalypse Now, HEAT etc but with the soundtrack as well it's just a total gem. Wilhem Dafoe made his debut in this as did the CSI Vegas head of unit.
Outstanding performance...the best live performance of this gem!
I’ve been listening this tune since 1985. New Wave days still on!
Yep DEAREST,!!,,,
Amen!
Matchless excellence up there with Scritti Politti and The Police...
One of the all time great movies!!! Soundtrack is awesome, great memories!!! They killed it!!
I remember growing up listening to all this great music ❤
Great song. Love the guitar solo
Great song.... awesome all around
I like this song today just as much as I liked it in the 80's!
Great Movie as well !!!
Brilliant song from an underrated soundtrack.
Love the smiles during the guitar solo - they know this is exceptional
Really glad this is back up. Unbelievable performance.
Truly outstanding 👏🏾
One of my favorite movies and these people are just really great musicians. My favorite song from this sound track is lullaby and I was looking for that and found this. This is as professional as it gets.
I also LOVE Lullaby! It belongs on all their Greatest Hits compilations.
Epic song!
Great tune from the greatest film ever
Thanks. Best version.
why did i think they wouldn't any good live? they're friggin awesome.
Simply spectacular, ultra WOW 😳🙌🏼🤘🏻🎉🎶🎵🎼🎸🎸🎸🥁.
Great voice and excellently sung song 👍❤️👍
That guitar solo is just too deep and clean. Bravo!
Yeah his tone is exactly like it is on the record which is so incredibly rare in live performances.
Incredibly rare
Very good song from soundtrack classic.(actress William Petersen).Fan.😂😂😂😂😂
To Wang and Chung in L.A.
Check out the origins of the bands name.
Song still sounds good after like 35 years?!!😎🎶🎶🎶❤
Good god they sounded great live.
Damn,They nailed it-Fantastic!
Great movie fantastic soundtrack
Amazing
Just saw them again last night and they did not disappoint !
Still in 2022. Who Else?
Excellent performance…🤟🏼
Still 2023...😀👏❤! And that sax!
I cant believe how good everything sounds live and his vocal is perfect, better than that studio version. Thanks for posting this!
MASTERPIECE song for a MASTERPIECE movie
This is 10x better than the studio version. Wow just wow.
these dudes are professionals
Damn right ! At their age in the 80’s they were at their best.
This song is so much better than the other songs they have but it seems it doesn’t get the attention it deserved
Wake Up Stop Dreaming
Best song on the soundtrack....but this live ALMOST tops it.
Ilove it this song always '80.
That was a crazy movie. "Your taste is in your ass" said Willem Dafoe. John Turturro was also great.
Great live version. These guys are so damn good. By the way, if anyone ever saw the TV show Banshee, doesnt the character Kai look like Jack Hues?
I love both this movie and the soundtrack. Very moody. Very on point.
sencillamente maravillosos,la músicaque sacudió y sacude al mundo, cultura pop
Great film. In my top ten favourite films of all time, but my favourite song from the soundtrack is City of Angels.
To live and die in LA🎶
Hey Alt Rock on MV
You took a great FULL live concert video of Wang Chung and chopped it into bits after it'd been up for 20 years with a shit ton of plays... Did you really need the advertising dollars that much? And BTW, the date was 7/6/1987.....not 1986
They should have given Jack some pivotal part in that movie ...he looks like a movie star then
GOLD
Tema de viver e morrer em L.A grande filme.
Great image quality 👌
When music was good
wow. this is amazing
THATS INCREDIBLE!!!!!,!
most underrated
Great movie
NICE
Thank you for uploading this.
Coincidently I picked up the sheet music for this song earlier this year.
I've loved this song for decades.
Back when bands did amazing different arrangements live instead of being human jukeboxes like today
To Live and Die in Los Santos. Has has some references to Live and Die in LA
The lead singer looks like the late James Cagney.
Cool.
"why are you chasing me?"
"why you runnin'?"
"CAUSE YOU'RE CHASING ME, MAN!"
God I love that film
Cracks me up every time 😂
#1
Over the top. Off the Richter scale.
That snare!!! Huge
William Peterson
Yeah I'm going to nail Masterson one way or another
Masters….
To live and Die in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
who was the drummer?
His name is Bryan Hitt. He’s been the drummer with REO Speedwagon the past 30+ years. I remember seeing this when it first aired on MTV in the 80’s and was captivated by his playing. Huge influence on me.
@@mrdrumz2132 I thought that was him!
Who is playing the lead guitar?
Mikal Reid
There's a lot of cool parts to this song, but I feel like it never resolves. The chorus sounds like a bridge.
John Mulaney brought me here
LOTS and LOTS of high quality
Coke floating around in 1986.
These Pop Stars were basically
getting free substances just because
they were famous Pop Stars.
Anything they wanted was just a phone call away.. be it Women, Booze, Narcotics, Anything.
The 1980's were just one Massive Party.
We used to have lines on top of our amps ready to go back then!
😁
Those WERE the days!
ALL OF THE 1980s drugs!!!!!!!
Not great mixing, but the band sounds great.
Give a white man a Chinese sounding moniker then have a black man make a song with same title.
What
