This new plugin for Decky Loader is really fun and easy. Get CheatDeck if you want to Cheat in your games. WeMod is good but it's hard to install on Steam Deck. If you can't get WeMod installed, this is a great substitute!

To be honest I'm glad that we have Fling and Cheat Engine more and more games replace fun and quality with grind and boring things - sometimes it feels like I'm not gaming, but got the second or third job....

flingtrainers are all tested and verified, you'll have to download it one by one for each game though. I've been using it for years.

I tried Aurora cheat engine, and now this- decoy is hands-down, the way to go. The others barely worked and were overly complicated. Thank you for this video.
This is easy to use. But you have to download stand alone trainers manually and it's a hit or miss with those.

I hope what I'm about to share helps everyone who has encountered the issue that I did.
The Ghost Cursor! (Unable to toggle!)
First off, this tutorial is really good & easy to do even if you are not tech savvy. (I'm a bit of a luddite & I managed), but...
After following up to 8:27, you discover you cannot toggle the trainer! You press every button, you switch between windows of game & trainer but no dice, you fear you are missing something, an unmentioned program perhaps like this proton thingy?
However I spoke too a steam user face to face who looked at the system for a moment, switched between desktop & console & showed me the simple solution! The issue is focus! The game is running on full screen so it ignores the trainer!
You load the game, go into main menu option & turn off full screen mode. You may have to shut down game & reload to get it to take effect but now the Cursor is there or you can just toggle what you want with your finger 👉
I am pleased that I can just play games now as & how I would like to!
Now if I could just figure out how to use the emulation thing (games run like in slow motion)....

For about 2 weeks I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t switch windows. It only showed the trainer screen and not the game but all I had to do was turn on developer mode. Thanks you so much

Yeah it's great
tried 3 games.
1) Cyberpunk. The trainer resizing and flashing. Didnt work to choose any cheats.
2) RE4 remake. Trainer didnt show up at all. Tried 30+ trainer instead. Error message saying need of file in game dir. Put said file there, trainer flashing and resizing, after choosing info ammo, game crashes.
3) Elden ring. Doesnt show up.
I'll pass for the time being.
for elden ring, someone said on my discord to use "Elden.Ring.v1.02-v1.08.Plus.34.Trainer-FLiNG" this version. for other games i haven't tried so can't really give you advice. stand alone trainers are a hit or miss. that's why i use wemod but it's a pain to get working on the steam deck. once you have wemod installed, you won't use these stand alone trainers.
I've experienced in the past that some trainers contain malware or viruses. Just be careful what you're downloading. But this brings up a question, would this affect Linux system?
Good point! I try not to put anything important on my steam deck. Like passwords or e-banking stuff. Just keep it as a gaming device. As I do a lot of controversial things with my steam deck.

My fling trainers stopped working recently, and i get an error when I try to activate any option that says to have administrator permissions. Any possible help with that?
Try other trainers. Sometimes the issue is the trainer exe.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG surprisingly, I fixed it by taking off full screen from the game and being able to click on the trainer when I switch into it... weird but stuff works
I'm extremely mixed on this, from the point of view where
+ adaptable cheats being used for older games but acting more as quick settings instead of cheats
- proactively being pro-cheats may encourage naughty behavior
- why for new games, like...
+ ease of use, and perhaps potential update to add an on the fly mod enable/disable option
I can see several upsides but also downsides. It's cool. In concept, with work it could become much much more of a useful tool.

Great video! A lot of the trainers I am finding require a numpad to input the cheats. Anyway to do this? example the tales of berseria trainer
I'm wondering this same thing. You can bring up the keyboard by pressing Steam button + X button but pressing the numbers doesn't do anything.
That's the downside of this, some trainers don't have slide bar and steam virtual keyboard doesn't have numpad. Just gotta find the right trainer. Or use wemod or aurora. I have videos on other trainers.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Someone else in the comments suggested binding "Numlock" plus whichever numbers correspond with your cheats to buttons by editing your controller layout and it actually works so far.

Guys i found a way to use cheat for lutris, you simply create a bat file and include (start trainer.exe and start your game.exe) and launch it on lutris, that way when you play it on game mode it will automatically run 2 windows one for the cheat and one for the game. Cheat deck only works on steam game not for lutris

Thanks for your tutorial. But I have a question. What can I do if a trainer cannot be activated with touch but only with the F keys or the NUMpad, which the SteamDeck doesn't have? That's the case with the FLINGS trainer for The Evil Within 2, for example. I can only activate it with the NUMpad. Is there a solution for this?😊
@@patrickbrandenburg9207 yes that happens for stand alone trainers, there's no standard. I also hate it when they don't have slide bar toggles. Maybe try mapping back grip button to numpad key.

Doesn’t work for me when I try to toggle any cheat I got an error saying “access denied. Try to run the trainer with administrator privileges or disable the antivirus” no idea how to do that because first I don’t have an antivirus and second the cheatdeck plugin open the trainer by itself and doesn’t have an option to run it in administrator
Did you try another trainer or is this based on one trainer?

What proton version are you using on the games?
@@GrownUpGamingGUG haven’t force the game to use any proton but I switched to proton experimental and the same issue. Also with the latest proton. Must say that these are steam games not non steam

@@pierregoze9351 what do you mean another site? What's you issue? Some fling trainers don't work? That happens. Try downloading different versions as some trainers are old and probably don't work when the game has been updated to later versions.

Cheatdeck is changing my launch options so i can not run both trainer and game any help would be greatly appreciated
Yes that happened to me for dragon's dogma. It runs without the trainer. But when I use the trainer with cheatdeck, it doesn't boot. I think the issue is with the trainer because other games work with trainer with cheatdeck.
I have 5 legit characters on elden ring, but now i kinda wanna skip the grind and get a new character up and running with the equipment i want for some low level co-op. I wish some of the items in the game didnt have such low RNG.

Just thought of this, but for people who want to use cheat engine via cheat deck, given the fact that you will likely have game mode on, certain options will require you to alter your control setup.
If you need to change the script for an option on cheat engine, make sure you turn on mouse controls for at least one button, you need to set a button to act as right click, I chose to use a back bumper.

Would you like to ask a question? How do I use the cheat deck in games installed by Lutris? It didn't work for me in games that run through Lutris, it opens the trainer but doesn't open the game's exe. you have to do something else?
i'm not sure cheatdeck works with lutris or heroic. it would be easier to make your lutris games work with add non-steam game.
I'm not able to enable the mods once I launch in Game Mode. I can switch to the trainer Window but nothing happens. I assigned the track pad as a mouse and it doesn't enable any of the toggles. I plugged in a mouse and same thing. Any ideas? I tried Monster Hunter World and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
did you enable developer mode? also, hold the steam button and use right touchpad as mouse and r2 as left click.
@GrownUpGamingGUG I did enable Developer Mode. I tried using the default mouse combo with the Steam button you mentioned, but that didn't work. The mouse moves but it doesn't click any of the toggles when I tried Steam + R2. Do I need to map R2 as a left-click?

I have fling trainers and redirected to the folder. But Everytime i open it says something about being offline and not being able to instal wemod. But im not trying to install wemod so idk what in doing haha.
Some fling trainers need wemod to run. Wemod owns fling. They were bought out.

They do different things. Cheatdeck forks the stand-alone trainers. Protonup-qt helps you download different proton versions. Both are free. No need to compare. Use them both.

Ran into a sad problem. I wanted this for elden ring. I use elden ring with the convergence mod, and you have to change the launch options to even start the game. Using the cheatdeck changes the launch options apparently, so it just doesn't start :(

yes, it's probably the trainer issue itself. download another one. some trainers online are sketchy.

It's most likely the trainers aren't good. I tried all Dave the diver stand alone trainers but no matter which one I download from the internet it just doesn't work. I had to use wemod to get it to work.
I haven’t been able to get wemod to work correctly on my steam deck either.
I had to try wemod many times before I got it to work but it does work eventually 😁

Got it working untill the game launched. When i switched to the trainer, the mouse cursor won't move. I tried touching the toggles but its not responding. It's like the trainer is displayed in front but the cursor & trackpad still responding to the game in the back
Try holding the steam button and use the right touchpad as mouse and R2 as left mouse click.
have you managed to get the fling trainer to work with Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree to work? i tried but the trainer crashes, however, the game does not. im running it as a non-steam game through lutris.

Yes, STL is giving me some issues recently.
The only issue i am experiencing is that the toggle dont work when i use the Steam mouse. When i hold down the Steam button and use the right steam pad to navigate, then click the toggle, nothing happens. If i use an external keyboard and activate the cheats it does work, co i know the trainer is working

This works like a dream! No need to go to Windows. The WeMod method is a mess.
this is simple but does have it's cons. you have to download your trainers yourself and they may not work or the format isn't consistent. sometimes they don't have slide bars. wemod is hard to install, but once it's installed, it's much easier to use.

Many stand alone trainers on the internet don't work from my experience, so you just need to keep looking for one that does work. If it works, should work for both steam and non-steam versions. There's also alternative methods like wemod, aurora, cheat engine etc.
wemod didnt work for me on steam deck beacause of the antivirus message bug. but this seems to be a great solution thanks!
yes wemod is good, but hard to install on steam deck.
Does it matter the launcher? Steam tinker , proton experimental or anything? Thanks for the help
it shouldn't matter. this little plugin once set for your game, actually puts launch options code. so in case you have other launch options you might need to adjust that.

try another trainer. some trainers online might not work or they are not supported by your game version.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG i cant find another for ER, its not a game version problem, the trainer is not launching at all, i tried opening the mhw trainer in er and it started, so i dont know why the ER one doesnt
some trainers online might be fake, probably a virus. shouldn't really affect your linux as you are running them in a contained prefix folder.

How would this work with games that use EAC (Elden Ring, Armored Core 6)? I'd probably need to still replace the "start protected game" executable included in the FLING trainers right?
I don't think so, I use wemod with those games without a problem.
Oh, but mine are non-steam versions so it might be different.
hello friend. the Trainer does not work on the Steam deck in the game Dying Light 2, It works on PC. Would you know why? All my other games work but not on Steam Deck
Are you using cheatdeck with other mods? Cheatdeck will insert its own launch options and maybe that messed things up?
What button did you press that brings up cheat deck so that you could locate the cheat downloaded file? My deck comes in a couple days and I’m trying to plan out what I’m going to install on it. This one seems much much easier than the other cheat mods. ALSO, what button allows you to change windows in game??
Once you've installed cheat deck, select your game and press the start button for the option to click cheatdeck.

Would be great if this worked. Does not work at all. Games don’t even open. They crash instantly after trying to load up a game. Any trainer used. Same result.
It's definitely because of the trainer you are using. A lot of stand alone trainers don't work as I mentioned in the video. That's why I do prefer using wemod because I hate needing to find and download stand alone trainers and testing which work or not.

Depends on the stand alone trainers. Some have slide bar toggle which is good. Some just use NUM pad keys which sucks and they can't remap which sucks even more🤣

How many games are we talking about that doesn't load up? The games load up properly without cheatdeck or steam tinker launch?
@GrownUpGamingGUG every single game I have tried yes they load fine regularly but once I try both those cheat methods I can see the trainer load up but non of the games load just stays on black screen behind the trainer options. I tried around 5 games since all are quacked I thought that might be the issue.
Also all those games are added to steam using heroic launcher.
@@unexpected78 I'm not sure it works with heroic games launcher. In the video I used add non-steam games method.
@GrownUpGamingGUG I only used Heroic launcher to install the quacked games then added them to steam and through steam the games run fine. So should I try installing the games without the heroic launcher?
If you want to use this trainer then you need to as I haven't found a way to get it working to heroic games launcher.
Does this only work with original steam games? I tried this with an game which i installed on lutris (and i am starting with steam), there the trainer does not start - just the game. I tried different games. On my original steam games it works. Any ideas why this only works with steam games and not with lutris games?
