I am in love with ElCo. My 1978 is originally a metallic blue-green but was flat black when I purchased it I was considering repainting it the original color but seeing your baby in that glossy black is making me reconsider.
Stick shift was with diesel motors but your conversion is great. I like the seats from a malibu inside for buckets with console. I just got done putting a 454 BBC into my 1979 elco. You should consider that next as they fit perfectly under stock hood and make burnouts and wheel stands so much easier then the 305 it came with! Ha-ha-ha..

For the Gbodys, it is very hard to tell a real SS from a fake one. The only thing I can think of, would be whether or not it has a bench seat ot bucket seats, but I could probably be wrong about that too
Beautiful car!! I’ve had that same exact Grant GT chrome steering wheel. It’s a beast when the sun shines on it! Lol
I just bought one of those front spoilers, now I know how to install it thanks to your vid.

Can't wait to finish building my 78 El Camino SS Black Night edition
I had a new 1979 El Camino SS silver body, maroon rocker panels.
Which ever year you owned, that was the best looking one ever made.
Mine was.
68 69 and 70 are considered the best looking with the 70 being best all around if its the 454
@@0Heeroyuy01 that's if your a fan of the chevelle body, I am but I personally prefer these G-Body el caminos above all the others
@@heres.ray64 personally i like the 68 look its just aggressive af.
imagine a 68 with a 454.
word to the OG's tho with that pic
Wow, never knew they offered 4 spd in this gen, sounds good.
I'm not sure they did...either column shift or a floor shifter with a 2-3 speed hooked up. Hurst shifter seems like a custom job.
Floor shifted three speed Saginaw was the base transmission. Four speed was optional. Very few were built with manual shift.
If I had this car, I’d play Highway star anywhere I go. Nice, man! ✌🏻🔥
Beautiful ride, looking at a 78 for myself might pick it up
From who

Was that a 2in cowl hood on the car?
Did they make an 86 ss?
Very nice!
Beautiful cept my 82 3 speed might take it idk. 3 on the tree baby
Flowmax?
Where’d you get the rubber for the seals around the doors?
You can get some from original parts group online, I just changed out mine from my 78 el co, and it was a pain in the ass not gonna lie
How much ask for El cmn
cool as ^^^^^^
It does not have power windows so SS I think not
How much. Nashville Tennessee
Iam no expert but SS did not have roll up windows.
I drive a ss and I crank my windows all day, u are no expert
Your correct, this is not an original SS but a built one, original SS always had power windows and power lock doors
My 79 royal knight ss has crank up windows..
@@heres.ray64 you're probably wrong about that ss are offered without power windows and locks
