    You can also reach out to your local bars, coffee shops and restaurants. To host painting events. Just talk to the owners to let them use their place, market it online, and just give the owner a commission (percentage). Just make sure you're comfortable being around and teaching people. It works if it's themed related. For fall you paint pumpkins & etc.

    This is super helpful MewTripled thank you. For now I don’t plan to sell my art. Because I’m in the process of improving my art skills, and look up artworks as source for inspiration. Although, motivation didn’t work for me I’m going to continue doing this for my journey as an artist. Still thank you girl. We appreciate a woman like you with Art wisdom.

      In the video, I mentioned people are taking advantage of communities like facebook groups and reddit forums catered towards their niche. I'm a part of some of these groups and have seen many independent artists with either a small audience or no social media platform share their work to let others know what they are creating and selling. Some are literally just a link to their website, no instagram whatsoever attached. A lot of artists are also raising money for a social cause through these which helps with not just the artist but society as well.

  • @ZealothiaArt
    @ZealothiaArt 2 года назад +5

    These are all good and dandy but to say you don't need a following to be your costumers, it's incredibly misleading.
    The amount of artist friend that I have, that have been doing art online and growing their platforms for years, maybe decades, and still struggle with merch and zines that don't sell, it's a lot! It's money and time investiment that ppl don't just buy if they don't know your art! I like your content and the info you provide, and your art is a big inspiration to me but this is heartbreaking, it's misleading.
    I genuingely don't think there is anything you could do with "no followers", anyone with less than 1k followers on any given platform struggles a lot to keep a good rythm going bc there is simply not enough ppl to interact with their content or support them financially!
    I don't know, I'm just.... really hurt to hear "you don't need followers to make these things work" bc mine, and many other experiences from people I know, say the exact opposite, and it hurts to see someone big like you so casually say it works, when it doesn't work like that.

    • @mewTripled
      @mewTripled  2 года назад +9

      I'm sorry if the things I mentioned in the video have hurt you in anyway as I it was never my intention to mislead or misinform. Yes, followers definitely HELP with providing an audience and customers; however, I don't think it's that completely black and white where followers always equal customers and no followers always equal no customers. As mentioned in the video, I have seen people gain customers just by simply sharing their products on niche facebook groups and reddit forums -- places where you don't even have a following attached to your username to begin with. I have family members and friends who aren't really even on social media to begin with share their work there (and made sales).
      I have made videos in the past about why a following is important for business, and how it does help make sales, but I also wanted to create a video to share the opposite end of the spectrum for those who don't know where to share their art to sell to begin with. Just because I make one video doesn't mean that is my entire belief on the subject, it's only another perspective of it. At the end of the day it may be simply that we have seen different people's experiences, and I am just doing my best to offer one idea for anyone who has no following and doesn't know where to start 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @ZealothiaArt
      @ZealothiaArt 2 года назад +1

      @@mewTripled I see your point of view more clearly now, and I understand it, even if it's still something very far from the experiences I've seen.
      I'm thankful for your content and for your efforts to try showing ppl that you don't need a following to do art; I don't mean to discourage you from doing this! So thank you so much!
