      I do agree that Benedict did a fantastic job as Sherlock, but as far as the actor who best captured the character as portrayed in the original stories, that would be Jeremy Brett, hands down.

    The man is just such a SWEETHEART. Really! I followed his career from his Sherlock days. He has always been dedicated to family and always been so kind and decent to everyone. I remember when he was in a London taxi with his wife and he jumped out to chase after a man who had stolen a stranger's purse. This monologue is so HIM: gently amusing, appreciative, and warm.

    And who can forget the four seasons of Sherlock from 2010-2017 with Cumberbatch as Sherlock, and Martin Freeman as Dr Watson. The show won numerous awards, and has a rating of 9.1/10 on IMDB. An absolute classic British tv series, and looking forward to the day when Mark Gatiss finds the time to write season five, and Cumberbatch and Freeman are available to work together again!!

    This was incredibly warm, funny and very well written! Benedict hit it out of the park as did the script writers (I imagine obviously himself and with coordination from the staff writers) , and I loved it.
    Very sweet, and a perfect start off to the show that lights up the heart and spirit.
    Great monologue!

      Yes! Cabin Pressure (and Benedict's role in it) is so underrated and honestly one of my favorites of Benedict's roles! Great for car rides. I need to give my CDs a re-listen. It's also interesting to me because Cabin Pressure started in the 2000s before Benedict had widespread fame from Sherlock, and some of the seasons came out after, so Benedict has definitely come a long way in the past decade!

    I have waited a long time for something like the "Chloe Fineman: Understudy" sketch.
    I genuinely wish every week would include a 'behind the scenes' type of sketch.
    There is an enormous amount of talent, we should get an occasional glimpse.

    "I was beat by Will Smith." Comedy GOLD!!! He is NEVER going to live that down. I hope that those 10 seconds were worth the destruction of his whole career, just to make up for laughing at that joke that made Jada shoot daggers at him. His response wasn't, "Well, I guess we're gonna fight about THAT in the car on the way home," but, "Hey, y'all, watch this!" followed by self-inflicted career destruction in 3...2...1

    I am one of the allegedly 12 people who saw Power of the Dog. Him and Smit McPhee were brilliant. It's a study of a man who's a monster, who gets his comeuppance by possibly an even bigger monster. It's striking, powerful, and this episode was hilarious

      @Jess_Marie_G. Agreed. Cabin Pressure was probably the best BBC radio comedy of the last 30 years. Very British humour & hilarious. As Cumberbatch had become a bit more known they had 25000 applications to hear the last episode for a 200 seat theatre. The man can do no wrong.

      @@peterh8129 I remember the madness it was to try and get into that theater! It was during the height of my Cumberbatch obsession and I was on Twitter constantly lol. I was so happy to that the Landmarks and Lemons lady got in to give them all the goodbye video and the clay figurines.

      @@btag3714 There's a video here on RUclips of Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen playing a game in which they have to agree or disagree with a set of statements. One of those statements was that British actors do American accents better than American actors do British accents. They both strongly agreed with that and Elizabeth's theory was that was true because the British are exposed to way more American TV and movies than the other way around.
