I haven’t seen an HD run in a few years, was nostalgic to watch parts that were mostly the same but also fresh to see a few new tricks. I tried learning restricted back then too but I just couldn’t get morth hover and now learning that PG skip is a thing on top of that honestly is demotivating. Good job on the run though, it’s always cool to see people break my favorite Zelda game!
Manual superswim is a glitch used to escape the intro of the game. Whenever you hold the opposite direction that link is facing, he turns around in one frame and gains 3 units of backwards speed, but this is instantly lost. However if you chain together these turnarounds every frame, you can constantly stack this speed gain and there is no speed cap for backwards speed in the water, meaning you can indefinitely build speed. I pause buffer to only advance one frame at a time for each turn around, and these pauses have to be timed perfectly or else I won't gain any speed. Once I have enough speed I can go near the rock to refill my air and zoom across the ocean.

It's kinda interesting how getting a quiver/bomb bag upgrade gives you the corresponding item while also giving you the extra ammo space. I wouldn't have been surprised if it only gave you the item, since it’d make sense if the state of the item was defined by a value from 0 to 3 and getting the item/an upgrade would simply increment that value, but that doesn't seem to be the case here since you go from 0 to 2 immediately. I'd be very curious to see how those upgrades work in the code, although I have no idea if the code has ever been decompiled before
@@JS_Guitar09 oh I see. We manipulate save flags in the run. At different times we want to savewarp to different locations. Before we were savewarping to windfall, which is useful to escape the bomb bag island which we cannot swim off of. Then we want to void out in the water to spawn in the boat, which changes our saveflags so we spawn on the current island we are on. This is mandatory before forsaken fortress cutscene skip because that cutscene replays unless you respawn in the room after savewarping. When we fix saveflags we want to do it on DRI because when we void out we spawn in the boat at sea and we don't have sail so we would otherwise have to cruise slowly to get back to shore, but DRI is special because if we savewarp at sea we spawn back on the island. We do this before forest haven because we also skip the deku tree cutscene and when we savewarp we want to spawn at forest haven instead of windfall to skip superwimming back to forest haven to get leaf.
Item sliding is an HD exclusive glitch that is easy to do. Pull out any first person item, hold a direction, pause the game, unpause the game while holding slightly in the opposite direction.

He is just commentating. If he does something good he will say it, If he does something bad he will say it. He punishes himself so badly when he makes a mistake and that is probably why he is so good at this too.

I wouldn't have been surprised if it only gave you the item, since it’d make sense if the state of the item was defined by a value from 0 to 3 and getting the item/an upgrade would simply increment that value, but that doesn't seem to be the case here since you go from 0 to 2 immediately.
I'd be very curious to see how those upgrades work in the code, although I have no idea if the code has ever been decompiled before

It saves over 2 minutes because that final cutscene is over 4 minutes long.

It's because I skipped all of the saveflags from the intro so the game never thinks I left outset
