Since you are a bit nuts on suspension, you should look at a Manitou Mezzer. My buddy has one and its pretty nice.

Ext is easier to setup, can set it up on the trail, no need for tools, defeating, take cap off with a flush suspension socket, put spacers in inflate and repeat. 🤦
I have the Era it's great. I don't know if I have full potential out of it yet. But feels great. With Fox it would have been creaking.

I wouldn't call the fox 36 an all-mountain fork. I would rather compare it to a lyrik. both are not quite so extreme enduro forks. i would say the 34 is a real all-mountain fork

I think he meant common fork, it's common, it comes stock on many bikes, common upgrade too, common on second hand market. I can get them cheap on the second hand market Norway. Prices vary depending if ride cares about the price eor not, the state it is in, and I many forks prices can drop.

EXT Era V2 is amazing! I replaced my factory 36 with it and the dampening is much better, more of an oil damp vs air damp. Plush and responds well. The dual positive chambers really helps you make adjustments vs putting tokens in. EXT is a little secret in bike market imo

@@OtterMTBtech none, I push the fork hard into corners. Responds very well, predictable. The damping on the fork is incredible. It’s so gushy but can still got a platform to pop off. It’s incredible. The air damping in fox just doesn’t seem that great feels cheap when comparing if that makes sense lol

@@OtterMTBtechyes, I’ve also ridden it on a Ripmo V2, definitely feels better than the 36, plusher, but I wouldn’t trade it. The range of adjustability is awesome also. 5 psi on the ++ chamber make a Big difference. There’s lots of room to adjust

@@E-mtb-Dude I just spent 2 weeks on 2.1 Era on full 29er Kenevo. I prefer the progressive forks, Zeb and now Super Z. They pop better. The new Era has a larger negtive chamber so you loose some of that pop, the Era is 100% stiffer than any 38, almost to stiff. it really excels in the chunky trails with low plus plus chamber pressure compression added in, I was un able to get the pop I wanted for blue flow trails. the rebound is hard to get set right, the fork is a almost dead unless your are just full speed moving. Like a downhill bike. the fork in this vide was v1, I liked it better. the 2.1 has zero arm pump.

As a bigger rider 200lbs+ the Manitou Mezzer Pro is the first fork that felt perfect out of the box. No need for a custom tune. They dont seem to work as well for smaller/lighter rider's, damping is too high.

@@mtbboy1993your Dead wrong, My for 36 Performance level is a beast. After a year of hard riding no creaks! But I also service my fork twice in the last year (every 6 months) and got SKF seals on it, so it’s super smooth. Moral of the story service your damn fork so it won’t creak!

@@joshuaallswang8016 I bought mu 2019 36 Factory fork from a suspension guy, he had it for a few months, then I had it for a few months, yes it was serviced two times a year. It creaked so bad it sounded like I snapped it in half, and rode on twigs wen I turned. But it was at 62.5 deg head angle on a Geometron G1, same as previous owner.
Servicing the fork won't stop creaking from CSU(Crown Steerer Unit) only a replacement or taking it apart and putting Loctite or some other solution in there pressing it back in with hydraulic press, but it will always come back. It's due to the loads and the construction of the crown. Nothing to do with lack of service. The stanchions move in the crown, same with steerer tube in the crown.
