You are a highly skilled machinist, welder, and fabricator/designer. Luckily Google is paying you well, otherwise your skills would be going to waste. I'm surprised you are not working for a big company making the big bucks.
+electronicsNmore Thanks, but this is more of a challenge and its fun so thank google for paying you tubers so this can happen, also ubisoft the game makers as they funded this one.
Bloody amazing! Probably the most entertaining and out of control channel out there... It's like a controlled train wreck. I love the fact that you design / build all your gear with easily accessible tools. It proves that anyone with a small but equipt shop can make just about anything if they actually try. - Inspired-
ok let me get this straight out of the way , i've just found your channel and i can honestly say you are brilliantly mental! , love the energy the skill and the attention to detail on your work, your having fun and it shows in your uploads and now i cant stop watching all your previous stuff , you earned my Sub. thank you for the quality entertainment you provide.
+Sian Beckinsale its after this series of videos, it's to tie in with when i'm in the sky show. the gap is not ideal i know but these vids are good in between
MrGlassBox most homicides are committed using hand guns (in the us), so why would some genius spend hours making a complicated weapon with limited range instead of using a hand gun which can be easily concealed and can seriously injure/kill people many meters away?
I don't know if that C02 cartridge have enough power to make a practical use grappling hook. Maybe a 12 gauge blank shell... But anyway, it's awesome! Can't wait until the next video!
For sure that's not practical for common people. But for adventurers, alpinists or fireman's that maybe be. With some improvements engineers can turn this concept into a useful tool.
+Fernando Fontana Engineers have been at this a million times over, but the conclusion will always be the same: You have no idea how securely the hook has mounted and no idea how secure the material you hooked onto is. So you either get up there to make sure everything is secure in the first place or you are asking to get killed.
You deserve your own TV show. I would definitely watch it. After Robot Wars and then Scrapheap Challenge was cancelled, there hasn't been any show on British TV to replace them.
+colinfurze mate, would a thing like a fishing reel not work pop an eletric motor on it and presto you have a winch like thing or something like a small marine winch, couldn't that do the trick ???
+colinfurze You are a Genius! xD you are the only person i know that would be able to make a jet powered toaster and you probably have at some point xD
colinfurze thanks for your response I was actually thinking more along the lines of something like this www.apmpetrides.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=695 it's small packs enough torque and would hold your weight but you'd have to retrofit it to shoot the line of it without tangling. Stay safe and awesome mate
***** I honestly didn't like the anime much, main character is too much of a bitch. Have you seen 3D maneuvering gear though? It's pretty freaking cool and it would be awesome to have something like that. I don't give a shit about the anime, the technology is just really cool and that's KIND OF what this channel is about. Building cool shit. Also, pretty fucking sure you don't even know what a weeaboo is.
gbrincks It's almost like I can like and appreciate certain things produced in a country without being obsessed with that country lol. I love a good scotch, but I don't really care about Scotland.
Diggin' your work and craftsmanship. The winching mechanism is going to prove particularly difficult. Making a purely mechanical winch that can lift your weight, no problem. Doing the same for an arm-mounted gizmo, however, is an entirely different story. Storing enough potential energy to lift your weight to a height of roughly 7+ meters will require some seriously reinforced hardware, which itself gets weighty. If you go electrical, then you're going to need a high voltage battery with a serious discharge rate (which is also going to get hot). Good luck man. If you pull this off, I'll be even more impressed than I already am with your ability.
Man, I've found your channel two days ago, and I keep asking myself: why the fuck I haven't found it earlier!?!? you're truly hilarious and you have very impressive metal fabrication skills. guess what? I love to build stuff with steel and I like to laugh so thank you so much for your work, mate! keep it up! yeah!
This really is awesome, Colin! The appropriate line is called Dyneema. There's a similar material called Amsteel, can't remember the difference but not much :s anyway, it can hold your weight with a thin (couple of millimeters) thread and is also extremely light. It can knot easily but if wound correctly, not a problem. It's used for power kiting and Arborist's throw lines so plenty use it to be hoisted into the air regularly.
Colin! You really should get into blacksmithing. I know you prefer engineering, but I think people would really enjoy seeing what you can do in the form of your own swords, knives, blades, etc. Might just be a good hobby!
+colinfurze better to do it right rather than to have it collapse with you in it. I cant wait, but ill be patient. I would love to see a wall with your arsenal of (toy) weaponry in it. But its your project and I shouldn't be one to dictate what happens in it.
+tobias van der horst how could you mess up the word "totally" twice? i mean, it was already written properly two times, on two consecutive comments just above yours....
Love your videos. And it's super awesome watching you work, just doing some stuff and explaining it, better than most teachers at my engineering school. Looks like dumb fun, but when you can do this dumb fun you can also get a job pretty much everywhere, because skilled people are always needed.
1:49 love the shattered caliper display! True shed tool. You are game my friend. I truly hope it works... i do have my doubts, glytch mentioned mythbusters, say that too... go on col, prove 'em wrong!
Fantastic design so far.Have you considered Dyneema Powerkite lines? Flexifoil sell a 20m set that has a breaking strain of 360kg, and they're between 5 and 10 times thinner than the cord you're currently using
Damn, everyones asking about bunker and shit, I just have to say again: You really have some extremely amazing metal work and engineering skills! I just love seeing something relatively complex like this high Pressure powered launcher coming together from scratch, it's so awesome to watch! :-D
small problem, the launching part and the pulling part are in a different place. this means you have to wrap the rope around the pyramid, put the hook in, and then shoot it. This dude would do so well in a zombie apocalypse, HEY you guys go to the sniper tower through the stairs, I'm just going to rope launch myself see us in a sec
550 paracord is your man, if that isn't already your 'nylon rope.' As for the spool to lift yourself up with, I can only see that being on the underside of the forearm and possibly having to guide the rope into the device beforehand and then that will haul you up and I'd consider a long spool connected to a motor that can give you enough torque to lift you skyward! Colin Furze is the bees knees.
Yo mumbo ! :D
+Mumbo Jumbo Why do you comment on every fucking channel? All the way from Saabkyle to Cloin Furze To who knows what?
+mumbo jumbo you actually watch everything I do mcm and this one haha
Wow! Didn't expect to see you here xD
so you watch mcm and colin furze? i love you now more than ever, sorry about your mom by the way, i hope all goes well
I love how he made something the Mythbusters said was impossible
To be fair at the time the mythbusters made that it probably was. Tech improves quickly
He doesn't get pulled nearly as fast as in the game
@@billbill6094 bs - that tech was available for them
@@Pbnj6 that would most likely dislocate your arm 😕
@@ballsackman8933not how that works lmfao
when i become a super hero i'll hire this guy to make gadgets for me

+colinfurze dude can u sell one 2 me ps
@@colinfurze Hi! Where can I buy the valves that you used for this project? Is there any tutorial to learn how to use them?
You should partner with myth-busters at some point in the future. I think that would make for some epic TV.
+Hunter Hagen Some sort of competition, maybe? That could be fun to watch
Other than the fact that mythbusters is finished
+Michaelc136 I'm not so sure about that. I'm pretty sure they're just in between seasons.
+1989Muppet thank you.

I love the fact that I live in an age where people can do this type of shit for a living. Colin is just brilliant.
If i had one superpower, it would be acsess to this dudes arsenal XD
I wonder if the army ever gives him a call asking for his gadgets
This is Britain. The only gadget our army needs is a tea-brewing machine, which, thankfully, we already have.
Fantastic engineering and execution mate! :>)
I love how you're so enthusiastic about your work, it is very fun to watch, you earned a subscriber!!
Love this new choice of music. Great build, as well!
