I don’t think people know how hard it is so play guitar in 5° weather. Amazing job.
Especially with those huge stretches she's doing - this is a great view of what the chords shapes actually are. Tons of covers get it wrong.
The way she originally played it takes alot of practice and hard to get tight

I have been listening to this several times today and I'm listening through a very good speaker system, it's a very sad performance but it's also a very beautiful one that really makes me think of how short this life really is and when Wendy plays that guitar I can hear Prince just singing along up there, now that's magic.

The Revolution by far was Prince's best band. They were his first band but because of that, they contributed greatly to the early albums before he fired them all but Dr. Fink (he lasted three more years with Shelia E and the new band because he actually co-wrote a number of Prince songs but he left after the rest of the band was fired). Because of this when you hear them in concert, the voices are different because the band members are singing but the music is incredible - it sounds like you were put in a time machine and you get to hear again all of the orignal hits that Prince and the Revolution put out. Raspberry Beret is best because in that song Prince did not sing the whole thing, the Revolution sang a lot of it even on the original track.

Fire the sound guy!! Vocals should have the front of the mix not the drums. But other than that beautiful performance. It's sad it took the death of Prince to have his music freed and appreciated again. And to have The Revolution play together again. Long deserved honors to a great band and a great artist!

But really though (* tho), perhaps the monitering was no good in the mixing booth. Plus outside performances are much hard to perfect than indoor ones, therefore it may have been very different for what was going into the soundwomans ears compared to what was recorded.
Also, perhaps it wasn't via multi-track either, which would mean that nothing could be corrected afterwards (for uploads/re-broadcasts, etc)
There are many, Many reasons why mixing an outdoor live show can become pants.

I wonder if The Revolution is accepting any new, lead vocals? I listened and felt a lump in my throat, and saw the emptiness of the stage where Prince would be...Still beautiful but sad. It would be neat (at least to me), to see them play with a guest vocalist. There is no replacing Prince, but it would be neat to see them smile!

This is a great performance but her mic levels were off...I can still hear her lovely voice it's just not balanced with the instruments
