  • Let's compare Milwaukee's new brushless rotary tool (2525-20) against the brushed motor mains powered Proxxon IB/E rotary tool. Externals, internals, and a number of tests are done.
Proxxon purchased a long time ago, maybe 2010.
    Milwaukee purchased December 2023

I have a older brushed Milwaukee M12 and also a battery Proxxon IBS/A.
For me, the most significant difference is just what you haven’t shown: the proxxon uses a correctly engineered spindle with two bearings on a precision shaft. This results in much quieter operation, less noise, LESS VIBRATION (yours hands will not get so sore, so numb, so fast), less run-out and better overall job quality, as this tool is much more controllable.
The Milwaukee is good (battery tools are a game changer). I bought the Proxxon because the bearing of my Milwaukee died. I replaced the bearing, but it’s quite hard to press it correctly, now it wobbles too much.

The new brushless tool has low vibration. Probably because it has tighter specs since the body of the tool has to hold the rotor dead centre.

thanks for the video sir! do you know if the dremel flexi shaft is compatible with the milwaukee?

Pretty certain it is compatible. The collets are also Dremel standard.

@@RoomForToolsit deffo is, as is everything else. I have the milwaukee brushless and the dremel flexi. Fits a treat. As do all the other dremel accessories I have.

Mine seems to jerk randomly at the lowest 5k rpm setting. Can you confirm this with yours if it does the same ?

Mine too. I thought it might have been something to do with fitment when I put it back together; that something got slightly misaligned. But it only happens at the lowest speed.

Thats normal with brushless tools. At least the ones I held in my hand all do that. If I remember correctly, then it has something to do with the ESC not being the highest quality or the Motor just not getting enough juice.

    Bad comparison.
Those two models are so different that this comparison isn't worth much.
    Sorry.
