      In 1979 it was Lesbian and Gay Rights. L & G. The other alphabet letters being added are a recent thing. Even if we run out of letters there are quite a few unpronounceable symbols, so we have at least decades for new victims to emerge. Fight for equal rights for people.

      Everything is relative, the fact you think it’s right doesn’t mean it’s necessarily right for everyone. In my opinion and I’m old enough to remember the 1970’s I can tell you that sure now gay have their marriage but society is much more divided because of stuff like this and we opened the door to all kinds of crazy insane stuff, now we are fighting over bathrooms and some people like to ignore basic biology and say there’s 30+ genders? And we are supposed to take that? Even if very few people agree with those things? ...if love is love as gays claim and nothing else matters, no gender, no age nothing, then would it be ok to marry your own son some day? Outrageous right? Well that’s how gay marriage sounded in 1970, exactly like that...

    • @jerarnijimenez8821
      @jerarnijimenez8821 5 лет назад +44

      Melissa Adami Yikes. Imagine comparing loving someone your age who just happens to be the same sex to marrying your own son. See, the difference here is that there’s a divide because of 60 year old bible bashers who put their nose in other people’s business. The problem with marrying a family member is the health risks associated with having a child- it’s deadly. Being gay is only ever deadly because other people disagree with it to the point of committing hate crimes. If people would mind their own business and not pay attention to thinks that aren’t hurting them, maybe they’d turn out happier. Much love : )

    It's easy to say the morally correct opinion when society agrees, i.e., a young person today supporting gay rights because attitudes have changed, but it takes a lot of courage to say it when most of society is prejudiced, holds the opposite view and will attack you for saying it.
    That's true courage. Putting yourself out because of your convictions yet knowing you are going to get hate for it.

    I had never seen it. I was already living out of the country several years when all this happened. Partly because I hated feeling discriminated against and not being free which I did not feel abroad. I only knew her from the women's movement days early 70's which I participated in and also her anti Viet Nam campaign which I agreed with of course only not that she went over to the enemy as it was an insult to those poor lads who were injured and dead who had no choice but to fight in that stupid conflict which had nothing to do with fighting Communism and everything to do with American politics and greed for power and money.
